Germany still in the top 10 in the odds. Just saying.

We're slowly dropping, though and Sunday is quite a "lazy day" and maybe the (British) bookies tend to like stuff like Isaak?

also, they might be waiting for :lt: :ee: :dk: :md: tonight to make up their minds

Nope, but it was really obvious that they wanted her in Malmö. Only after her performance they talked about how Schlager would be "so fresh" and that Björn from ABBA recommended to send it.

Well yeah, what else should they be talking about when they had to prepare the stage for the next performance? And why can't the studio guests have preferences? We didn't send Schlager for decades, of course it would be 'fresh'. What a silly thing to be upset about.

Well, you seemingly liked Marie and that´s ok. I didn´t and that´s why I´m happy we won´t see her in Malmö.

The people in instagram are insane they really think it was all rigged for Isaak. 3rd in the running order, barely ever mentioned, while we had huge tirades how Schlager would be great again, how famous Max is and that he is the greatest singer there. And he won both votes clearly, why would they rig it so obviously?

Everyone is a random conspiracy theorist now and it's annoying as fuck. They really tried to push certain contestants but it wasn't Isaak. Why are people this dumb.

I didn't? Your points are just tinfoil hat territory-worthy simply because you disliked a contestant which I find ridiculous.

I would prefer a "Nordic" type of show as well (more professional performances, more music, less talking) but all candidates got some support by other acts, family members or comments on "how great they would be in Malmö".

I honestly think it's kinda unnecesssary to discuss it by just looking at Marie.
Max Giessinger sent a video message asking people to vote for Leona.
Ryk lived in :se: and thus, he would be a good fit.
Floryan got support from Conchita (:at: winner) and Rea Garvey (one of the most successful male singers here in Germany)
The guests said that there could be a "Katze" movement in Malmö.
Barbara mentioned that Bodine's staging was "world class" (can't remember what she really said but it something like "NDR did the best.. what an amazing staging etc").
Max Mutzke's "8th place" was highlighted as well etc...

That*s just how NDR/ARD/:de: television works.
It's horrible, I agree with that statement.. but just getting angry about people commenting on Marie's entry?
The others got the same treatment during the show...

I mean, even Floryan got some standing ovation :D What the hell

People getting upset about the Schlager segment when clearly the WTF moment of the night was when 70-year-old Mathieu Carriere (a.k.a the guy who pissed on an ice cube on trash TV a few years ago) was somehow randomly revealed to be Ninety-Nine's best friend??? Like I'm not 100% convinced this wasn't just a fever dream??

I simply found the whole PR machinery around her irritating and too much relying on her mothers ESC performance in 2001, like some media wrote something like "wouldn´t it be great if she follows ther mothers footseps", almost no one talked about her own song and if it really was suitable for ESC.

Anyway, she won´t be in Malmö this year so its useless to argue about that. I have nothing against you as a user so I´m gonna stop that now.

Peace?? xrose

Germany must be the country with the biggest difference between online fan opinion and actual voters lmfao It's like they make it their mission to choose a song that isn't talked about.

Oof Deutschland :3:

Why didn't people get that message :mad:
I actually ended up liking her song the most out of the whole selection. Unfortunately the verses were not as good as the chorus, AND she started badly. The running order didn’t help her either.

Yeah, exactly. Everyone got some type of support during the show, it's just your typical ARD family show, everyone is supportive, everyone likes each other, yada yada. To think there is some sort of "PR attempt" to "rig" the show in favour of someone is just silly to me, I'm sorry. Everyone has their own preferences and opinions, so why shouldn't the studio guests be able to voice theirs? Of course someone like Florian Silbereisen will be in support of Marie, it's obvious, and why should that not be allowed?
Some ESC fans need to stop thinking the audience are sheep and will put someone else's preference over their own, it's ridiculous.

Yeah, and? My local newspaper also wrote about Ryk's connection to Sweden and about Max's "20 years ESC-anniversary", so what? That's how journalism works, it's connected to the artist's participation and report-worthy. Put your hate-glasses down, it's really not that deep. Stepping outside the bubble would do good for you I feel, with best regards and intentions.

I know that it works this way, but I don´t have to like it because of that. ;)

Okay my opinion: it's fine. He's a good vocalist and the song is, well.. just incredibly safe and middle of the road.
It it definitely something that doesn't stand out in the most recent string of German entries - but that's the problem. It's SO SAFE that people won't feel like voting for it because they basically don't care about it that much.

I wasn't a major fan of Oh Boy and it wasn't performed well so I wasn't really surprised by him doing worse than expected, I was rooting for Tears Like Rain (could be performed A LOT better as well though) but those were definitely better options. Even Undream You could do better in Eurovision, despite it coming last in Das Deutsche.

The voting system was rubbish as well, why wasn't it proportional? Didn't make any sense. Result wouldn't be be different but oh oh oh
