I honestly thought that I’m the only one disliking :es: this year. I’m relieved to see that the majority of the song check panel feels the same. I’m totally team Marcel here…

I think I‘m repeating myself but it can go either way for LOTL, so no need to rule them out. LOTL is one of the (internationally) most well known and established artists this year with a certain fanbase around the world, so don’t underestimate that. The Metal fans back then had an impact on Lordi‘s victory. Metalheads, who usually didn’t watch Eurovision, gathered to vote for Lordi. Of course, it’s not the SAME impact now since Metal isn’t such a novelty at Eurovision anymore, but LOTL are not less known than Lordi were at the time.

I‘m not sure if Spain will really own the televote so massively as it’s predicted here. It can go either way; people will maybe love it but I can totally see this ending up the same as Conan. (Obviously not NQ but still low - and a fail.)

Or as :fr: 2022. I mean I quite liked that song but it was also an experiment for Eurovision standards and just too different maybe.

I absolutely expect LotL to reach the left hand side, and very probably the top 10.

Don't understimate the power of hard rock/metal heads (sure, there's also Finland and Australia, but those markets might not overlap as much as is probably expected) and don't understimate the juries in a year they are bound to get a big bunch of jury-no-goes from the semis.

That per se the ranking of the streams gives information about which song is most popular is nonsense. You have to look at each contribution on its own.

Poland's song is not popular after all. It's polarizing and got abnormal attention this year because of the undeserved victory.

Every 2nd person who streamed the song surely did it because it said: you have to listen to this song. What a bummer. Gladiator was much better". Or by the immense Internet Shitstorm one had to click quasi already on the video and listen to itself which won there.

This, but we also have to take into consideration that the usual ESC audience isn’t aware about the Polish scandal. Maybe some people just like it because it’s a simple light-hearted summer song? I‘m not so sure this is a definite NQ.

And what LOTL is concerned: I also expect them to do fairly well in the televote. Even Lordi sent best wishes to them. If some "major" Metal bands (Lordi is not the biggest Metal band worldwide but it could be the beginning) promote LOTL there will be a bunch of fans calling! I hope there will be some promo! :-)

The Polish entry gets great streams because it has already been a minor radio hit in Poland BEFORE the NF.

I agree I think LoTL will do well in the televote, I could see them being televote top 10 or on a really good day with decent staging and running slot, they could make top 5 in televote. Personally I love them and their song, I can see an audience for this kind of entry also.
Juries will pull it down, I think it'll be bottom 10 in jury.

I know I was the first one to say Germany should tap into their rock/metal scene and send something that wasn't a ballad or just generally a load of crap but we are awash with bands this year and idk if this was the year for you to bring a band to ESC because of that

I hope Ikke is happy now. LOTL is the only band with equally high numbers in ALL public voting tools, so they have rightfully won!

He has a younger audience so of course he was leading in the online vote by a small margin but LOTL fans obviously preferred to vote by sms or call (Ikke fans even didn’t bother to call, they just made a lazy click online).

I think it all depends on LOTL stage performance and rehearsals when it comes to betting odds. Amsterdam already went into the right direction, so hopefully we'll have something exciting coming in Liverpool. I have a feeling that the NDR is trying to take the competition serious this time and I totally believe in LOTL for putting up a great show.
