I mean ... this was an uphill battle all along, wasn`t it? While I do think that the song is not all that bad it`s obvious to me that these two have no connection to it or each other whatsoever. It was nice to have a break from the bottom 6 for one year but I do fear that that this year we`ll be back there. Hoping for a positive surprise in May.

I think this song is pretty much dead in the waters. Luckily Germany is part of the Big 5, if not, this song would not stand a chance to qualify to the finals at all if it is sent by another country.

I'm a bit late to the party hear, but I actually don't mind this song. It's certainly nowhere near my bottom 5 although I understand the criticism that has been thrown its way by quite a few peeps. I do enjoy it however in its studio form and don't skip it xup

This was not my favourite at Unser Lied für Israel.
It hovered at the bottom of my ranking for quite a while.

However, it really is growing on me, and I hope it does well on the night. If Germany were not in the Big 5, I do think it would have qualified on merit alone.
The EiC performance was great, simplistic yet effective, which I think should be the approach at ESC. Kinda gives off a Taken by a Stranger by Lena (Germany, 2011) vibe :de:

Florian Wieder on staging of S!sters:
We will probably refrain from letting them go on stage on a rotating square - that's the way it is right now. That was a bit confusing, for everyone, for the spectators as well as for the artists themselves. In Tel Aviv, a lot is going on more focused on the message of their song, just at the beginning. Their voices, which fit so perfectly together, speak for themselves. For us, it's about putting the ideas that their song transports into the picture.

"Their voices speak for themselves". Ok, that means they will be no staging at all again just like in the previous years (before Schulte) I guess...

Near the bottom position for Germany would be unfair, like many other times it happened in the recent years.

Well I wouldn`t call it unfair tbh ... this is a competition and someone has to be last. Mediocrity doesn`t bring in any points ... being bad or good does so

To be honest all of the BIG5 + host this year are very good except United Kingdom and maybe France. So if i had to select who comes last in the final i would go with a country that qualified but i don't like otherwise i'm sorry United Kingdom but please be last!

A bottom 5 placing would be well-deserved.

This song is just going nowhere. It's worse than "Black Smoke" and "Ghost" in terms of (interesting) producition/composition and being instant, in my opinion and look where those entries had been placed in the end.

This is a sure dead place in the televoting *mark my words*

''Black smoke'' was in my top 5 in 2015 but i knew it had no luck for a good result. However the last position with 0 points was huge a crime! Except 2015 i also loved Lena in 2010 that was a great winner. But everything else Germany sent between 2011 and 2018 is horrible for me including the second entry by Lena in 2011 and the criminally overrated Michael Shulte last year that came 4th because people are to sensitive. ''Ghost'' in 2016 was terrible and deserved the last place (i was also mad for not selecting the amazing Avantasia that year) and Levina in 2017 is probably one of the worst entries in history of Eurovision.
So Sister is actually just the 3rd entry from Germany i like this decade but looks like im the minority! :(

I was very pessimistic when "Sisters" was selected at our NF, but the closer comes Eurovision the more optimistic I get.
Surprisingly most of my Eurovision friends from other countries actually like "Sisters", even have the song in their top 5 and wonder why I am so pessimistic about our ranking, so I start to share their optimism :-)

''Black smoke'' was in my top 5 in 2015

xlove

Black Smoke was brilliant. Not Eurovision-compatible unfortunately. But I really love this song. It's actually the only German entry of this decade I love, except for the Sisters of course.

The

Oh you gotta
know I’m with ya
Now shine like city lights
Torches in the sky
Don’t you try to hide it

part is so good. I love the harmonies and the heavy bass. It feels so dated (I'd rather say oldschool) yet contemporary at the same time. What a brilliant mix!

Honestly, I take it as a good sign when people who think Ghost and Black Smoke were okay, don't like Sister at all. Those entries ended dead last and I disliked them strongly (crazy ninth jumps and butt-focus in Black Smoke, manga girl in laser forest and a boring, monotonous beat in Ghost – spooky, spooky! not. Still salty about Avantasia, Gregorian and Laing).
Sister on the other hand has at least the glockenspiel and the marching, muffled drums going for them, and I remember that the repeated "SISTAH!" on the high C really got stuck in my head when I watched the national selection – and I went into it blindly without listening to the songs prior to the show.

Don't know if people will vote for it, but I'm definitely not as unsatisfied as I was back in 2013, 2015 and 2016. We had a strong national final this year, and it makes me optimistic that I actually like Sister, even though they were only fifth in my ranking out of all the possible entries we could've sent.

I recently have so much to do and haven't really listened a lot to these songs again,. Today I did and I have to say that I still really like this song a lot. Okay, I have no idea how it'll do in May, but in my opinion, it's so much better than many overrated songs this year. But that's what ESC is all about, I guess!
