Re: GERMANY 2019

Tbh, I think that the why how this procedure has delevoped is very frustrating.

When the new format was introduced, the German broadcaster and everyone involved said that they would like to push artists which are different, unique.. someone who would stand out... that they would be embracing different genres but all we get are young people which are more or less "same-ish". Don't get me wrong, they might be talented and most of them have great voices but there's nothing "thought-provoking" about them... no other genres than radio-friendly pop. Voxxclub was different but both juries did prevent them from getting a decent result and I truly believe that we will never get something more interesting than radio-friendly pop song as long as so many people are involved.

I don't want to sound too pessimistic because we still have to wait and listen to the songs but I don't expect a modern dance track, a rock entry, a German ballad or a jazz-y entry... It will be 2017/2018 reloaded minues Voxxclub.

Thinking very much the same way. I have the feeling that the team isn't willing to try something new, to risk something, to send a song that's completely different. Unless they don't give up their radio-friendly attitude, Germany won't be having a winner song again. I am so ready for something risky. Last year I was hoping for Ryk. Loved his voice and song.

I personally think that it's the fault of the juries, the Eurovision panel and partly because of the core Eurovision fans.... Germany is always trying to please everyone and that's why we end up submitting inoffensive and radio-friendly entries.

According to Aly Ryan's Instagram story her song will be "dance pop" with "a little bit of a daft punk feel" which sounds pretty interesting to me. I'm most excited for her and Lilly's entries

Sounds very interesting. Quite a risky way to compare her track to iconic and legendary Daft Punk. It better be good.

They will probably be available at 00:01 on the 22nd and even earlier in New Zealand  So if you know how to change your location to New Zealand, you can probably listen to them a little bit earlier.

Re: GERMANY 2019

Great, then I will move to New Zealand in the morning and come back here on the evening. Seems like a clever plan.

Re: GERMANY 2019

Finally our NF is on a Friday again :-)

Btw: Carlotta Truman - part of the Duo "Sisters" - already appeared in a Eurovision pre-show in Germany back in 2011:

On the day of the national final. We can probably listen to snippets on iTunes New Zealand on February 21 though :)
