Re: GERMANY 2019
Sooooo ... Germany. Congrats on a overall very good NF for once! Those song all are very competitive and diverse, this is going to be an exciting night. But, I have made up my mind.
My Top 7:
1. Aly Ryan: I just have to put her first. The modern sound, the gorgeous girl and the sex appeal it somehow evokes in me (less than MARUV but yet its there) make this song stand out. The visuals seem to be on point and even without this, this song would be my number 1. We never sent a song this modern to ESC, so this is it Germany. Dont mess it up, but I know you, you will.
2. Makeda: A classic ballad that touches me. I like the piano, I like Makeda's voice. I just think its utterly beautiful. If we send a ballad, then please this, because its easier to grab than the one that follow.
3. BB Thomaz: It grew on me. The Queen influence cannot be unheard, but its different which I like and its uniqueness could shine at Eurovision. BB Thomaz is a great singer so I give her that. I just think its harder for people to connect to this, she shouldve been given an easier song on the ears.
4. Linus Bruhn: Argh, well, I like the sound yet I find it too tacky and annoying. Its hard. I get used to the thought of this winning. And it frightens me. Its modern and cute, but its not my cup of tea and I wouldn't listen to this actually. But yet, it would stand out in the sea of songs we have so far.
5. Lilly among clouds: This one could also be my number 2, but as much as I love it with some listenings I also find myself hating it. Her voice is great but this song needs soooo long to build up. Its atmospheric, but I cannot connect to it, the build of this song is so different, I dont know about it. Wished she went with something faster and more modern like her previous songs. I could see this end up winning. It all depends on the live performance.
6. S!sters: I expected much worse. Its a cute song, but seems like a filler to me. Both girls have fantastic voices, but I wished the song was a tad stronger having the topic it has. Plus I hardly believe in put together duets like this, it often sounds like they dont connect, but we'll see.
7. Gregor Hägele: He doesn't deserve this last place, because the song is good. His voice is good. But all in all, I remember him the least. Its a song I wouldn't listen to, but I could see Germany go for this. The audience always goes for "oh, cute, unexpected vocal" type of thing. We'll see.
Its a great line-up. And I expect everything can happen this evening. I could see EVERYONE be the last place and EVERYONE be the first, its weird. I believe its going to be a tough and close voting.
