Alphaville still exists? :D

Germany has great metal bands yet we've not seen them sending any.

Sending Alphaville would be like Germany would become the new UK and send has-been acts that were big atleast a couple of decades ago

I mean Cascada was a bit in that direction considering they haven't had a hit for 5 years or so...

I guess we will once again use our concept for success: Unknown singer with medium talent + American songwriters and producers + promotion. Then we can spice it up with some choreography and dancers and voilà, it's a top 10 placing once again even with a boring ballad. Rinse and repeat.

I'd hope not :( Sure it worked, but you can do so much better and more interesting!

I want something German!

That's not going to happen. Even Glasperlenspiel are scared of Eurovision now as they reluctantly said that they don't know anymore whether they should compete in the future. After this year's failure I'm 90% certain that they will use some money to buy American and/or British composers and producers.

:(

Let's cross our fingers then that EBU finally will change the rules so that entries can't be imported in such fashion !

I hope so too as it gets really boring. Almost every year the same lame pop ballads are going to win. It's shitty but if that's the recipe for success who could blame us for shopping around a bit in America.

No one's blaming you, the problem lies within the EBU and the current rules of ESC aswell as the juries I must add.

EBU yes, the juries not particularly. I'm first waiting for the split votes to judge them.

The NDR is not the right broadcaster for ESC. I am confident another one of the ARD group – such as the BR or the MDR – would handle things very differently.

MDR? Hell no! BR and/or SWR would be a good choice though.

I'm not sure whether or not you've been living under a rock these past few years, but Cascada has had a few hits in the last five years....

"Fever", "Dangerous", "Pyromania", "San Francisco", "Au Revoir", "Summer of Love", and "The Rhythm of the Night".

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it, deary. xlove

When I see what results we got with MDR and BR I would say No to both of them (Okay, BR was partly successful, but they gave us also some of the worst German songs in ESC history ) The only member I would trust is WDR at the moment

I hope that in the next german selection there will be beautiful songs like those of 2013. And especially that you won't get another ordinary (in this case dance) song with a big name behind to ruin everything, removing the opportunity to represent the country for much more original and deserving songs.

I really hope they keep the selection-format same as 2013. With a few changes in the voting it would be perfect.
And pleeeeeaaase do it in Hannover again

(P.S.: This is how a song called "Marry me" can sound ;) )
