I like the music quite much, but I really dislike his voice, so I'm not sure about the whole thing.

I actually really love his voice. It's really dark, rich and mysterious. Makes a change from everyone yodelling up and down keys as most seem to do today.

That to win??

I'd rather say Oceana - "Thank you" can win ESC!

Oceana's sample seems ok. It's not screaming "winner" at me though but we'll have to see. Saint Lu had a song somewhat similar last year that melodically seemed a lot more colourful and appealing but she didn't manage to win.

I believe Unheilig are more popular in Germany. They have been going for years and seem to be a very well regarded band. People have already pointed out Oceana isn't well known in Germany.

Last year I think there were three votes maybe. Public, Radio voting and (I think) there was a jury (I may be wrong).

I wanted Ben Ivory or Saint Lu.. but Ben's live performance was really tragically out of tune due to sound problems. The German national final I thought was really great last year. The best mix of different songs and the show was of a great quality. Hopefully it's equally as good this year.

Ben Ivory was AWFUL, and not due to sound problems, but because he can't sing, it's so obvious, where is he now, did he record smth after? had some performance? NO of course, quasy singer, I hated him last year even before NF performance, and then after NF performance, I felt ashamed instead of him!

I thought his song was really great, quite hard hitting electro pop. He released an album afterwards I believe. A few of us here were actually quite keen on his song. I watched acoustic performances he had on youtube where he could clearly hold a tune. Something went painfully wrong on the night he sung at that national final. I felt embarrassed for him and was cringing the whole way through

I really like the tune on the Unheilig song snippet, it sounds really promising . Did it sound a little Coldplayish to anyone else :?

And yes his voice is a bit different but not different enough to turn people off in my opinion . Either way it definitely sounds like it could be a winner, not enough of this genre at ESC!

I'm with you entirely on Thank You. That has Eurovision winner written all over it. Haven't felt like that about a teaser since Euphoria.

(Admittedly, that was the Norwegian Euphoria which failed to get through the semis of MGP)
