Pffff. Only people here who don't understand music. ;) I LOVED the past years' entries! Georgia delivered every single year and I hope that it will be the same this year again. Go Iru! 💖

 ok sure thing ... I must say I did like the 2021 entry though and wanted it to qualify, but I knew it was dead on arrival... as for the rest of their entries... apart from 2007 and 2010... No comments

Anyways with the direction Georgia is taking, it might soon join ruZZia and belaruZ on the ban list so I guess enjoy it while it lasts...

Iriao and Oto were decent, just not enough to make anyone vote for them. Tornike was „okay“ but he had the stage presence of a serial-killer. So I would very much appreciate something conpetitive for a change.

To compensate for Georgia slanderxpolice, it's time for my annual "Georgia is my favorite country at eurovision post"xlove

15 entries, 15 likes from me.xbow (16/16 if you count 2009"
2x wins, 3x second places, 1x third place
5x additional top 10 results
3x placings between 11th and 17th
1x Above my like zone, so it still counts

Anyway, I think we can expect some uptempo pop or a ballad from Iru. I'm hoping for the former, but i can be optimistic for now xclap
Personally, i was hoping for the option that would most likely be singing some alternative rock.. you know, just to be safe :lol:xcheer

Ok so someone won a singing contest xshrug

Now can Georgia actually deliver a good entry (or at least decent) for a change? That's the real challenge here!

She co-wrote "I Believe", the entry for their JESC 2022 contest. Having Iru to co-wrote her own entry might be a good change.

About time Georgia started sending their much more successful JESC talent. Now if they also get jesc songwriters, it'd be great.

Idea is also a very good song.

This is how we get a Bzikebii reunion 2024 🤞

Iru Khachenovi is good, hope her song will be good too. Georgia really is struggling to find its place in modern ESC, even though I find a lot of their recent entries really underrated. They are not bad, they are out of the box, but while in JESC that translates well, it didn't in ESC for some reason...

Unfortunately they've been out of the box and bad at the same time... which is kinda Georgia's problem in ESC.

Like I wrote earlier, they've been so focused on being different but forgot that you need to back it up with quality as well. It's not at all a bad thing to be different, in fact if done in the right way it's usually a ticket to success in Eurovision, if Georgia can manage to combine the two they might be back in the game again.

Because 'out of the box' and different doesn't mean also good necessarily. Some of their entries are plain terrible like last year's and while i understand that some people absolutely loved it, it won't work for the vast majority of people.
The recent years there are entries that are different and did well in Eurovision so being different doesn't mean that you will be punished in Eurovision.

Don't want to drag politics into this, but EBU should look into the option of banning Georgia from Eurovision in the same fashion they are doing with ruZZia and belaruZ, we will have to follow closely what will happen there in the near future but it does look like it's turning into a new belaruZ unfortunately.

Georgia about to enter the odds top 10. xheat
They made it! This has to be the longest gradual climb, from 36 to 10th in the odds. Is it the fact that a lot of songs have been released and dropped or is it that the previous success of the artist has carried it up here. It couldn't have been someone betting a lot of money, because we would have seen a sudden spike.

I have a strong feeling that after so many years of NQ, Georgia will finally be back and even more than that. I think they will be a contender for the Top 5 if not more. 2023 really needs to be their year and i would be so happy for them if they do very well.
They are a sleeping powerhouse at ESC and have this year and very talented and young artist, representing them, with a great voice, very strong cowriter skills.

If they find their way to do well also in the adult version, they will become of these countries that does consistently very well at the contest.
