Y'all are acting like :fr: is going to win and seeming sooo desperate...

He won't win. Italy or Sweden will.

Besides, the only desperate people I see in this thread are the butthurt Seemone fans who want to make the flawed narrative of "France made such a BAD decision by NOT picking Tous Les Deux" happen and well, it was never going to happen, sorry! Seemone would finish 18th at best. AT BEST. Especially with the myriad of other "emotional" (but actually mediocre) female-fronted powerballads that are likely going to qualify from the semifinals. Picking Bilal was the smart decision all along and France will be reaping its fruit on Saturday.

Yes. He definitely won't, neither will :nl:.

To be honest, :fr: can end up as high as in 2016, but... well, there might be some surprises?

My expectation for Bilal is somewhere between Amir and Alma in terms of finish. So around 8th, 9th, 10th. Higher would be great but without having seen the whole thing this would be wishful thinking.

The best thing about Bilal winning is France hosting next year, that's it lmao.

We can all agree the song isn't that great, but having a big 5 country host is interesting, we all expect a good stage, good accommodations and so on. (But people are gonna be disappointed about Paris lmao, it's absolutely not the great-looking city cute romantic everybody expect). I don't know what i'm talking about it, it's not winning.

Thinking that the last song I loved from :fr: was 2001 makes me think...

Let me give you a big hug xrunhug You know what's good!

Now that one was winning material. It's definitely among my all-time favourite Eurovision songs and up there with the best acts we French have ever sent. :)

France has slowly became one of the most dangerous countries in EU. Are they able to stop terror attack if they have to host?

It wouldn't necessarily have to be Paris I guess :) But I agree, I'd love France to be the host!

In the end, I don't think there's two or three contenders for the win every year. There's a lot more actually.. it all depends on the staging. An impactful, mesmerizing, original staging could take a lot of songs to the victory.

Yes, that's what I thought so. I think the lower top 10 and not beating Amir's result seems realistic for a song that is sort of "hated" universally by the Eurovision fans.

for some reason the Czech commentator kept translating Bilal's answers in the feminine gender :D I'm sure Bilal wouldn't mind but it still made me cringe

He looks better with the new wig and without the glasses but the visual concept looks like it's taking a little bit too much "inspiration" from Conchita and Netta. The same is true for the message. The original part they added is face projection mapping but I don't think that's enough. People will think of a man dressed as a woman winning a few years ago and a fat woman winning last year with a similar message. Usually reminding the audience too much of previous winners is punished in Eurovision.

The new version of the song surprised me. It works much better for Bilal, and I like seeing him moving around the stage and really going for it all with confidence. He's enjoyable to watch and I wasn't getting that at all from the NF performance. Having said that though... the performance is just TOO much for me. Holy mother of Mary. I get it. I'm sure we all do. Do we really need to see a constant spluttering of they judged me, told me I couldn't do this and that and well look at me here now twirling on the Eurovision stage with Bilal Hassini messages? Urhhhh. Conchita didn't need to spell it out to us. I can't stomach this staging. Not because I don't appreciate the plus size dancer and the deaf one (go them!). It's just how it's all packaged together in the most ferociously in your face way possible. You don't need to tell me what you're doing. Just do it. Proof's in the mother funking pudding for goodness sake. Stop whining which in turn is making me whine. Just do your thing and slay it.

Winner of both press polls, underdog, the most effective staging in the history of eurovision, catchy song, lyrics, great vocal, dinamics, melody, bilinguality, 2nd half, powerful message. We are all Kings and Queens no matter how much others try to knock us down. It's also authentic because that sign with han showing crown above his head, he was also doing when he was a child so it's something very personal. He has everything he needs for win. From 13th place in the odds to top3. Also conchita posted and shared (heart) on his insta, he met Dana and netta. He is living his life, he is our winner no matter what and he shouted many haters mouth. Love it! :p

BTW this is the gayest eurovision in the history of song contest and I'm living for it. In your face Laura bretan. Hehe, sorry, not sorry.
