He wasn't my favorite in the end (Emmanuel was xlove) but I like his song. He should definitely work on his voice but I think he can do it til May. I wish him all the best and predict a placing in the middle

They lowered the key (or the tone?)for God's sake. He sounds much better, though I'm pretty sure that he won't compete with this version. :(

Even though I still can't stand this song, I saw one of my most favorite actors in this Video (around 2:44) … the Danish Mads Mikkelsen, Maybe some of you know him as Le Chiffre as the villain of the Bond's movie Casino Royale. But he played in wonderful movies as "Adam's Apples". Can only recommend that movie! xrose

Eurovision is a lot of fun but unfortunately it comes sometimes with hatred.

I don’t know how big of a shitstorm it is but Bilal is making a lot of noise in France. People are sending death threats, insults of course And everything bad and sad you can expect. He sued this past day All the negatives comments inciting to hatred, murder and violence.

I don’t know what happened for another controversial contestant such as Conchita but I guess she had to get through a lot in Austria and All over Europe. But it’s making me very sad. Bilal is very relatable to me as I was THIS gay boy in the past and I’m also angry.

This comment doesn’t add anything to our discussion here but I thought it was also part of the contest to inform you what is happening and I hope we won’t have to write this kind of message in the future and focus on the song, staging and him as an artist, (or bad composition, lacking of vocals and shaky charisma for some)

Conchita was confronted with a lot hate and backlash on Social media. It was awful.

Instead of sleeping because of jetlag, I keep streaming Roi. This song always puts a smile on my face. J‘crois que j‘me suis tombé amoureux.

The intensity of emotion is similar to the heartbreak winner song of 2017 for which I rooted all the way. I hope it bodes well this time again.

Just realised I haven't rated France's song yet. And it's... fine, I guess?

There are a lot of positives and a lot of negatives, really. I like the message, but it's presented with pretty basic lyrics that feel shoehorned into the meter at parts; Bilal as a performer has a cool image, but he's also got some vocal issues; I love the verses and the big note at the end, but the chorus feels very mediocre to me; and so on and so forth.

So there's a lot of potential, I think, if France wants to work on it – a revamp here and there, some better staging, some better live vocals, and this'd be pretty good. But for now, it just feels like a bag of interesting ideas with flawed execution. 5 points, though it's bordering on a 6.

Meh? I like the song, but really? He needs some vocal training even for this one. :( The wait until ESC is long, maybe he'll get better.

He sang it pretty well here but it is a slower version so maybe they will change to a slower version for ESC too

It's really early to say with almost no other entries chosen, but i really think this can be the winner. It's a gut feeling, the same i got when Salvador Sobral, Loreen and Conchita revealed their songs.Just like those, it seems to get noticed by people who don't care for any other ESC entries.

The LGBT crowd is already flaming hot for this, people all over the world are praising him for his courage and dedication. Even if it won't be one of my favorite winners, i can easily see him doing it, if only by "the pink vote" alone, but the song is radio friendly and has a certain magic, ethereal quality. It grows on you, even if you don't think it's well written it's perfect for the message, and for him.

Also it would be perfect for a Kingdom Hearts 3 AMV..... anyone?

I believe it can go really well for several reasons that would take too long to explain but for winning the song itself needs to be better i think! And Conchita when she won her song wasn't the best but still it was a really good one. Miles better than this one! Currently i cannot predict what place Bilal could get because there are very few songs available but i believe he can reach top 10!

I cant see many Ungays voting for him tbh and Juries will give maximum 30 Points I think. I think 17th-18th is the Maximum for him.

As a French, I would obviously love to see this winning, but it won't. But a top 15 would be enough, and I think he can reach that, he just really needs to improve his vocals.

I hope Bilal will not withdraw because of his tweet. French far right did the same thing with a contestant of "The Voice", Mennel, and she was cut of the show.

I even don't know if he will be authorized to go to Israel anymore.

Even though I don't like his entry at all, he should be able to go to Israel and represent us (:fr:).
