Re: FRANCE 2016

280 songs/entries received so far:
http://www.programme-tv.net/news/tv...hansons-proposees-pour-representer-la-france/
Wondering if they keep it in French. Though it's an ordinary "if the public receives it well then it will be in -insert any language-" thing.
Thanks AlekS

It's quite incredible that we have so much news around Eurovision at the time of the year. It shows that they have really changed teir mind and take it more seriously now.
Well, last year, they made seriously what they believed to be Eurovision...
Now they work very hard it seems
But, if they say they have entries written by schools... xrofl3

What I remember from the interview :
- They are not afraid of English now.
- The record companies don't want to take part in Eurovision.

BTW, it's the same website that said that we may enter JESC next year !

Re: FRANCE 2016

This interview doesn't tell that much about what's going on, but it's still better than nothing.

They liked 4 songs out of the 280 ones received  I hope there is something truly interesting ("N'oubliez pas" was supposedly chosen among 400 songs, so...).

Lol at the record companies that are reluctant to propose songs  Of course, they don't even want to try considering the reputation of the contest here!

And they stressed that the starting position we got (and the non-random draw in general) was unfair, I hope we won't get the 3rd place next year :?

Hey, at this rate you'll work your way forward by one slot a year and end in the best spots a decade or two from now! Think of the long game!

Yeah, one should see the positive side of this  It's not as if we would be on the verge of troubling the top 10 anyway. But still it's not nice to play the "filler" role all the time. Ok, we didn't send masterpieces lately, but come on, it's others' turn now! (I also think about Armenia, Estonia and Latvia that got 1st and 2nd spot in the semis two years in a row, while Romania closed the semi twice for instance).

Re: FRANCE 2016

Quotation from the interview about the entries received: "I’m very happy about some of the songs that are still on the run. And Yes there are a few pretty big names in the Top 10!"...

I wanna see the receipts  I doubt any "true" big name would send a song tbh. Anyway, it seems like they carefully listen to the music rather than going for names.

Overall, we learn nothing new about what's going on, I get the feeling this is the same kind of interview we have every year: we feel motivated, we have changed everything, we are optimistic, we've finally understood what to send to the contest... But at the end of the day, they keep on sending acts that sound like no-hopers from the very beginning, so...

And singing partly in English won't help us: Divine, Echo (You & I), Moustache... if the song is trash, we'll get another bottom place.

I hope they'll go for something fresh that's unusual coming from us, I don't mean avant-garde music, just a solid song that will not disappear among the other entries and that will make people vote for it.

I don't know, it depends on the quality of the songs they've received of course. But after the failure of "N'oubliez Pas", sending a ballad seems unlikely. I guess they'll try something new, or it could be a ballad with a beat that makes it sound like a mid-tempo song. They're probably seeking catchiness.

Well Lisa's song wasn't that bad. It has a message in it, but maybe it didn't appeal that much to the general public.
And also the running order wasn't in their favor

I didn't say it was bad, it was just too gloomy overall imo. Indeed the running order ruined the few chances we had to get out of the bottom 5.
I doubt they will consider sending something as slow-paced as that in 2016.

Re: FRANCE 2016

That song lost any chance it had the moment it got 2nd in the running order. ORF well and truly screwed France over, in Fact France has pulled the short draw with the draws for the past 3 years 1 - 14 - 2.

Hmm even in this second place in running order, I do think Lisa could have achieved a 15th place. Some songs above her either didn't deserve being in the final or received to many points in final IMO
