My mum sent me a message this morning: "I heard the french song and indeed it is very good I'm sure we're gonna win this year!".
I just answered that victory was impossible because of Russia that was too strong

I was really a fan of the song and I wanted France to win.
But I must admit that the live performance lost a lot of it's magic and Amir is trying too much with the high notes at the end. The staging it's also a mess....
The song losing the momentum and the bad staging reminds me Mengoni at ESC 2013. The song itself is not enough at ESC.

I just watched that performance Eurovision.tv uploaded. And... I had some kind of expectations but what is so special about this song anyway? It sounds so forgettable for me and I wouldn't even consider to vote for it in final after seeing that performance.

They surely must change the ending of performance, because these high notes destroy last chances for this to get good result

France Televisions messed up the staging, as usual. The french delegation said that we have not yet seen the finale version. And there's only one rehearsal left
Amir can't sing live. So unprofessional of him since he knew he had problems with the high notes from the beginning. You don't fix your vocals few days before the contest, that's stupid.

I think the statement of our delegation is bullsh*t, because one cannot make major changes at that stage, the performance that's been uploaded is most likely the final version we'll see on Saturday. As for the high notes, I don't understand why they didn't change the tonality of the song, or even considered an alternative ending for Amir since he's still not comfortable with the current one.

Anyway, when watching the snippet last year after all the semi 1 performers - even though very few songs have a chance of winning - I felt like pretty much 90% of the qualifiers were on point visually. Some stagings are way more striking and in line with their songs than ours (and I don't talk about fancy technology, just the lights, background and camera work) and I feel like France 2 didn't quite get it right. It's just ok, but not completely suitable for the song, hence why I started thinking if we'll eventually stand out. :?

Yes, I don't think there will be major modifications. It's a disaster anyway. Bottom 5 confirmed
And you know what's funny ? It's a french fan who tells them what's wrong with the staging. He's giving them some advices as well. Unbelievable.

I'm praying that we'll end up last, so that France Televisions reconsider their participation in the contest.

I still believe Amir can and will be fighting for the victory. And I expect a top 5 result.
Fix the ending. The rest in just fine! I agree that the lightning and backdrop could have been better. But Amir comes across as charming and smiling. Some people in here are WAY to critical. Even if Amir didn't nail the last vocals, and even if the staging could have been better I can't see any reason why this should end bottom 10. Or much less bottom 5.

Our neighbours don't vote for us. If the performance is bad, the result will be bad.
And it will be.

Even I really like this song, Amir's performance in first semi (or better to say on rehearsal) is really bad and boring.
Winner in Saturday? No chance at all

I am starting to think he might actually flop badly. What I saw yesterday isn't convincing at all. But I still think what I used to think, and that is that the song is great and that it has a huge potential to become a hit after ESC.

Look, I'm going to say something here...

I know people have been a little pessimistic about France's chances over the last few days, and I understand that. I also understand that Russia continues to be the favorite and now countries like Ukraine and Armenia are knocking on the door, along with the bookies downgrading Amir's odds of winning.

He came into the rehearsal process as a learner, he didn't want to hit the ground running with a stellar performance as he openly admitted - I'm sure the French team is still working hard to hopefully deliver that 100% confident performance for Saturday. The performance for the most part is fine, it's just the high notes near the end that need a little work.

I still have faith in the song, and I still have faith in Amir. Ever since I started listening to it, it's been the one song this year that has given me a lot of happiness. And he wins no matter what, because he has touched millions of hearts with his song and its message. I have no doubt he's saving his best for Saturday and I know he's going to give it all he has to impress the juries and the televoters when it really counts.

It will probably flop and end up 8th or something, but that's still a success being France
