This has been the latest hypewank, Fauve, a slam progressive-rock and contemporary art project.
I listened to it on the radio, and found it interesting (though hugely depressing).
Today, I discover it ranks #2 in album charts ! While it's not commercial at all... xbow
It's a really haunting music !

What do you think about it ? :)

Progressive rock? It sounds more like regressive rap
girl_pardon.gif

Maybe it sounds good to french speakers but to me it's just a monotonous blah blah with no melody.

Hmmm, not too haunting to me either... Really haunting french music is Bella with Maître Gims - possibly the most sexy song of all 2013!!!

I do speak some french - but by far not enough to follow the lyrics of a rap-song... So as for these songs I rely completely on the music and the sound and the voice... (and actually I dont tend to put too much emphasis on the lyrics in general).

Well, Maitre Gims is hardly understandable if you don't concentrate a lot on what he sings... But Bella is a song about a hot girl... I find it quite cliché-ridden and annoying... xshrug It's a song to dance with, but not a memorable piece of music for me... xshrug :)

Yeah... I know the lyrics of Bella. Since I like the song so much I had to read the lyrics - and you are right; definitely not outstanding lyrics. But I can live with that... I still find his voice very sexy in this song. And I love the song.
Best french song ever, though, is a song with haunting lyrics: Je suis l'enfant soleil. Still in my all time top 10 of the ESC!

Victoire de la musique award francophone and France-based artists, hence allowing :be: Stromae or Canadian artists some years. ;)

They have no pride in France then? xshrug

Well, it has been explained by the fact they've never been awarded, hence being quite angry with the Victoires... Anyway, I believe they wouldn't be awarded anyway. As for albums and all, their success has been overshadowed by Stromae. And the electronic category has been won by Kavinsky, who is produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo... from Daft Punk !

So they were afraid of being nominated and not winning, and that's why they asked not to be nominated?

Well, afraid maybe not, because they have nothing to prove... But they didn't want to lose, or to let France Télévision have the pleasure to award them while they didn't before maybe...

Add to that it's a :fr: thing. In :fr: we don't like the winners. We prefer to be xlove with deserving people who didn't manage to win... It's like that !

Yes it is !
And I'm not impatient !
Oh my mother said she's impatient of the end of that thing because she can't stand listening to those craps every evening ! xrofl3

BtW, Amandine supports the #teammoustache ! :)

And to come back to the Victoires de la Musique (as we're about :fr: music right ? xmusic ), the biggest event of the night (and only maybe xfacepalm) was Vanessa Paradis new hairstyle ! (that has been hugely laughed at.. :( )
