Big mistake for not considering Indila's Derniere Danse for ESC 2014.

Just listened to the french potential entries.. all 3 much better than anything picked so far xD moustache is hilarious, don't know how that'd come across, ma liberté is kinda french eurovision by numbers but much better than their recent ballad entries. Sans toi is brilliant fingers crossed for that one :p

Gotta disagree there, I think 2 of the 3 French entries are garbage. Ma Liberte is France's only chance not to embarrass themselves in May.

from the optics, i'd go for destan, but their singing performance didn't convince me really. furthermore, regarding the phrasing of the song, it seems to have been written for an english text. So the french words sound a bit weird.
So I think they should choose Ma liberté.....
Regarding moustache - musically a poor copy of Stromae.

Fair enough I do agree with you it's their most credible entry and the best chance to do well. I'm just saying I prefer those 3 songs more than anything picked so far :p

While Twin Twin is attacked by every media for a "shameless plagiat", Joanna recoreded for A-Lister an English version of "Ma liberté" which doesn't say anything in common with the original version !

I like the English version of Ma Liberte. Actually properly translated and sung by someone who understands what she is saying. Still should stay with French, but nice to have an alternative.

Thank you Toinou03 for posting the video.

How boring it was to watch, and the extracts they chose to show (mostly from old contests) were just Eurovision kitsch at its worst. Fortunately, French don't regard the contest as dated and ridiculous :?

As to the contestants, hell "Sans Toi" is the cheapest piece of rubbish France 3 could ever find. 3 boys who struggle to sing live, with cheesy teenage lyrics, old-fashioned arrangements... I mean, this could have done well back in 1998. In 2014, this IS embarrassing. Zero chances to be chosen anyway. Next!

"Ma Liberté" would be the best choice out those 3 imo. That doesn't mean that it's good : very generic song, same old arrangements, bland lyrics, the singer has no charisma and quite a weak voice I must say. The big plus is that it's not laughable. I may have criticized our recent entries but this one is way below what we sent.

"Moustache" seems to be well put together but that's it. Whether there is plagiarism or not, it's getting annoying as the music goes on (especially the chorus). And the lyrics are awful, that's not even funny. The singer's voice is weak too. "Je vais très bien" was eventually more genuine than this effort.

So now that I listened to the songs, I'm sure I won't cheer for France this year, they could even sing first in the final again, I don't care. Amandine deserved a better fate in both the draw and the scoreboard, those three not.

Someone suggested Indila, yeah that would have been much more interesting.

The only one who struggles in anyway is the brown hair guy. The blonde guy sings it pretty effortlessly while the other is more then competent enough (even if his English isn't as clear the French singing was fine). If you don't like it fine say so but don't exaggerate everything just cause you want to pile on criticism, your only hurting your own argument

The same goes for the lead singer of "Moustache". He was hardly that weak and was more then good enough live to claim that he won't be a disaster at Eurovision if sent xshrug

The fact that I don't find anything good to say about those songs doesn't mean that I'm exaggerating. I'm rather disappointed, this is really not up to our (recent) standards.

I have listened the three songs and none will do well this year.

Sans toi and Ma Liberté are the kind of songs to be last in the ranking. Moustache is good for me, but the juries would demolish it.

Thanks toinou for the video  I was a bit bored and decided to see what was up with our neighbours. I have to agree with tuorem here, these are all very low-quality songs, even more if compared with your recent entries. The only one I kinda like is Moustache  at least let's have a cheerful and catchy act! :D
The other two, I'm afraid, are xpuke

Yesterday in The Voice was Ginie Line, runner-up of the 1999 selection, and famous (once) for her musical tune "Le Dilemme". SHe turned only one coach !

There was also Edu del Prado from 'Un paso adelante" He was once a "teacher" in Star Academy..

And the week before there was Fabien Incardona, runner up of our 2006 selection. He didn't turn any coach...

So The Voice aims at giving something to our Erovision selection rejects, but it leads them to nowhere....

Lise Darly (:mc: 2005) tried her luck in The Voice 2 years ago, but she failed...
