They have written most of the Maltese songs in Eurovision. Well, what I wanted to say is that it's quite shocking to know that a contender for representing France in Eurovision got a song by very cliché foreign Eurovision songwriters...

BTW, someone made me hear the song some days ago... So I know what to think about it ! I'm just thinking of how A-Lister will be upset ! xrofl3

Interview of Twin Twin to Oikotimes.com

What were your motivations for bidding to the French selection show for Eurovision 2014?
As it’s the first time in years there is such a selection in France, and since the public will decide who will be sent to Copenhagen, we’ve thought it was a very cool idea ! We’re feeling like we want to change the French opinion about the contest, and make people watch this prestigious event. We dared to think “Why not doing it? Why not us?». We talked about the idea with our team and we all agreed. We sent “Moustache” to FranceTelevisions’ jury and we got selected!

Did you watch the Malmö 2013 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest? If so, what was your opinion?
Yes we did. From an artistic point of view, there were good and less good performances… but, as far as the show is concerned, it was incredible! That definitely is a BIG event!

Can you tell us a bit more about your song? Have you already thought about the staging of your performance?
As you already know, our song is called “Moustache”. It deals with the story of a man who has everything he has ever wanted but is not satisfied. What he really wants is… a moustache! It’s a metaphor about the consumers society we are living in, with this permanent and ridiculous dissatisfaction feeling. As far as the staging of the performance is concerned, we can’t say anything as we don’t want to spoil our surprise to oikotimes.com readers!

Do you know the 2 other finalists, Destan and Joanna?
We had never heard of them before the jury revealed the names of the finalists!

Do you have a favourite Eurovision song?
Marie Myriam’s “L’Oiseau Et L’Enfant” is a wonderful song. More recently, “Euphoria” by Loreen in 2012 was like a slap in our faces!

Meh, Philip Vella & Gerard James Borg (kings of cheese) are doing the one only entry in the French selection that I thought could be atleast somewhat promising? xshrug

Now I have absolute no hopes left for this selection, a lame boyband (they're not even attractive), a joke group (that will probably win) and a cheesy (probably ballad)?

Joanna has indeed a ballad. Destan as well. Contrary to these two, I haven't heard the entry by Twin Twin yet, but it's not a joke song, it's just a funny song.

According to some close minded people in the Eurovision world  the two are pretty much the same and there's no convincing them otherwise. I've already seen enough people online already dismiss the song but think they will win based on the title alone xshrug

I expected Joanna to do a ballad but didn't expect Destan xshock1

If Twin Twin have funny entry I hope they will be like Sirkus Eliassen - 'I love you tequero" from the Norsk MGP 2013! That was EPIC and AWESOME! :D

OK So to sum up (because it's very long !)

Twin Twin :
They come from Paris suburb. They are Laurent, François & Patrick and are all 28. The band has 3 years of existence. They have done an album and 1st part for big acts, like Nina Hagen or Philippe Katerine.
"'Moustache" is a funny song about a friend of them who complains about not having a moustache. The song is about the society of consumption and the looking for futile happiness.

Joanna :
She comes from Lorraine and came until the semi-final of Star Academy. She sings since she's been 15. She made a musical and a single...
She says she's been upset when she's been proposed "Ma liberté" because it was written in the way she speaks to her boyfriend.

Destan :
Kilian is 20 and comes from Metz, Dean comes from Paris and is 19 and Quentin comes from Lille and is 19. They are Destan (epopee in Persian). They met one year ago while they were singing separately in a studio [Note : these details are xrofl3]. They are managed by Laura Marciano, the producer of Tal.
"Sans toi" is about a love breakup. It's a sad but hopeful song...
