As far as I remember, he started complaining about how the contest was rigged like almost every French participants in recent years.
But he went even further by saying his final placing was sh*t and by insulting the French jurors for having given 12 points to Sweden. He also said that the winners were fake and rubbish, whereas HE had the guts to sing in Corsican, that that was more than brave blah blah blah.

He can have his own opinion about all this, but now that he wants to do the ESC again, I have doubts about his sincerity.

I actually liked Sognu as well. In my opinion it was one of the best songs in a very week year. But Amaury's live performance and vocals were not convincing at all, and I can fully understand why he didn\t do as well as many expected.
I wouldnt mind having him back. BUT - France must have so much more to offer! It really shouldnt be necessary for a country like France to send the same artists more than once to the ESC.
