Wow, Schaaf finally left Bremen? How many years were that, some 14?

yes, he was our couch almost exact 14 years. His tenure started at the 11th May of 1999 and his last match was at the 11th May of 2013
He became a legend here, but retrospectively it would have been better if he had left us like 3 years before. Cause in the last years of his tenure he wasn't capable to improve our players and his tactical ideas did't work anymore so Werder evolved from a title chaser to a relegation battler... and nowadays we are still a relegation battler :(

A bit harsh... It's not their fault United needs time to adjust to van Gaal's way of playing. What I don't really get, is why he chose to use so many young players, when the first team clearly needs to get some confidence, and I would have thought a match against MK Dons would have done just that. Instead, it ended as a bit of a disaster...

^^ Totally agree. I am also sad because of United's elimination, but this was way too harsh.

The victory of MK Dons was deserved.

Sporting 1-0 Arouca (First victory of the season came as hard as it could. Goal scored at 90+3. Inspired Arouca goalkeeper didn't help much either. We missed a penalty too which is now the talk of the week. Adrien, team captain and usual (effective) penalty scorer was supposed to take the penalty but recently arrived "hero" Nani took the ball himself and failed big time. He didn't impress during the match either. So I was kinda right when I said I think we got a bad deal with Man Utd. He better drop this diva attitude, I'm glad Marco Silva subbed him. About the only thing this guy did right so far since the start of the season.)

I got so annoyed with Nani. He wanted to look like a superstar and he failed big time. I hope he will lose his atittude on the next matches, specially on the next match, against Benfica, where the whole team will have to be at a better level. I am hopeful, I think we can win like in the Lisbon Cup.

I am happy for Rio Ave but sad for Estoril. I was really enjoying seeing them up there this last couple of years so I hope they can get their stuff together and be better throughout the season, specially considering they're on the Europa League. And Nacional is being disappointing as well.

And I have always loved Diana Bouça Nova, ever since she hosted CC :D

Am I the only person who is amused at the fall of Man Utd? xheya
Nope!

To be fair, I like them now more because of Van Gaal! He is a great coach, unfortunately his team sucks, so he will have to work his magic to get what he wants. Also, the Dutch players are pretty disciplined and United players seem like they don't care too much. 4-0 to MK Dons says that anyone can beat Manchester United.

It will be tough. I hope we can win too but I have a feeling about it ending up tied for some reason. Anything but defeat anyway ;) Let's see if William Carvalho comes back with a more cooled down attitude and maybe Slimani even gets to play, so that's slightly better.

I also enjoyed the great return of the old Estoril these last couple of seasons but I insist, José Couceiro is not the manager for them :? He's barely a manager even. Remember he used to be the president of the players union years ago? He's just playing manager because of the Peyroteo family link. He should instead be administrating some museum in homage to him or something :p
Nacional must realize their good run with Manuel Machado has ended. Time for a new manager as well. Also, their transfers policy just seems bogus. Mozambique and Egypt players...something tells me that the real reason behind these is not talent and team strenghtening, rather backstage non-playing football people's interests.

And really? Great :) I like her too since then. I stopped watching it when her, Rui Pêgo and Valsassina were "dropped". They worked so well together. Carolina was going somewhere too, I don't know if she's still there, but they ruined CC ever since anyway. I still gave a chance to the last casting but couldn't keep watching much longer after it :? Scenario got ruined as well. And essence of show. I noticed they are doing casting again this Summer but I can't stand to watch it, I don't recognize that anymore. I miss seing Diana on screen, I hope she's given an opportunity somewhere relevant.

I'm confident and I think we can win, if the players aren't stressed and don't think too much about the pressure. Anything but a defeat, as we would be 5 points away from them and maybe Porto already.
And I agree, time for a new manager for Nacional. Right now they're losing at home 3-2 against Dinamo Minsk :?

And I absolutely agree. I stopped watching a bit after that, when Carolina Torres went away from CC. She was actually hilarious, but since the three you said as well as Carolina left the show is just not the same. I watched one show 2 weeks ago and it was just so cringeworthy I had to tune out. And I also don't understand the whole "All-Stars" thing in the name either.

Another miserable game for us and Van Gaal as it ended 0-0 with Burnley. Clearly we should of got a penalty for handball but the ref said no. But Daley Blind maybe the final puzzle piece with 14 million signing for the defender with Van Gaal's 3-5-2

But other words Chelsea smashed Everton in a thrilling 6 - 3 and Swansea maintains an early lead in the Prem with all wins with latest 3-0 againtz West Brom. They had a bad season with Laudrup but with Monk in charge and young age hes doing great!

Best thing to cheer us Man United that Man City lost to Stoke City 1-0

71min: Real Sociedad-Real Madrid 3:2.. I think it's time to send Casillas on a desert island, with no contact to the world.

Rad 0:4 Partizan

Our best match in the season, by far! The result is a reflection of that, but it was a long time since we last time managed to control the match and dominate like this. We were controlling all the happenings from first 'till last second. We also missed several more chances, and the result could've been even better for us, but this was more than enough. Rad didn't manage to endanger our goal at all during the entire match, even though they have great attackers this season, like, for example, Petar Jelić who scored 5 out of 6 goals for Rad in the previous round against Voždovac, and even though they have a very good and compact team this season. The only thing I am sad is because this little derby was played without audience, and it was the first time in 4 years that Rad was playing on their real home field (Banjica), so this match deserved to have audience as well, but, anyway...........what can we do.

It is obvious that our qualification to the Europa League group stage gave us wings and even more optimism, and I believe we will be even better after the break. We are first on the table, we scored the most goals in the league and this is the most efficient Partizan in years + we have autumn in Europe. All reasons are there to be happy and filled.

Full results:

Radnički 1923 – Borac Čačak 0:1
Mladost Lučani – Napredak 2:1
Radnički Niš – Donji Srem 0:1
Čukarički Stankom – Voždovac 2:0

Crvena zvezda – Spartak Zlatibor Voda 1:0
Rad – Partizan 0:4

OFK Beograd – Novi Pazar 3:2
Jagodina – Vojvodina 2:3

In order to lighten Jamie's workload I'm gonna post the results of 2nd match day of Bundesliga :D

FC Augsburg - Borussia Dortmund 2:3
Hamburger SV - SC Paderborn 0:3 ()
VfB Stuttgart - FC Köln 0:2
Werder Bremen - 1899 Hoffenheim 1:1
VfL Wolfsburg - Eintracht Frankfurt 2:2
Bayer Leverkusen - Hertha BSC 4:2
FC Schalke - Bayern München 1:1
Mainz 05 - Hannover 96 0:0
SC Freiburg - Borussia M'Gladbach 0:0

Prior to the match I would have been satisfied if somebody told me Werder gonna make a draw against Hoffenheim, because I rate Hoffenheim very highly, the offensive is terrific with young Brazilian playmaker Roberto Firmino and Kevin Volland (who might become Germany's next big striker after Klose retired)

However after the match I'm not satisfied with the result, since we played an outstanding second half, in which we should have scored like 3 or 4 times.
Well, we only scored once, but at least it was a technical great goal by our new signing Alejandro Galvez, who will play a important role in our team this season.
Our defence was very firm, apart of the conceded goal, which was really a stroke of genius by Rudy & Firmino...

At the moment I'm optmistic for the season. It gonna be important to defeat the teams that are on a par with us. Our next opponent will be Leverkusen. That's gonna be difficult, but we won't have any pressure and maybe we will take our low chance.

Table:

1. Leverkusen 6:2 6
2. Paderborn 5:2 4
3. Hoffenheim 3:1 4
4. FC Köln 2:0 4
5. Frankfurt 3:2 4
5. FC Bayern 3:2 4
7. Hannover 2:1 4
8. Dortmund 3:4 3
9. Werder Bremen 3:3 2
10. Mainz 05 2:2 2
11. M'gladbach 1:1 2
12. VfL Wolfsburg 3:4 1
13. FC Schalke 2:3 1
14. SC Freiburg 0:1 1
15. Hertha BSC 4:6 1
16. VfB Stuttgart 1:3 1
17. Hamburger SV 0:3 1
18. FC Augsburg 2:5 0

Good game from us against Wolfsburg and a 2-2 draw isn´t that bad there. Since we also won our first cup match a good start in the season :-) I hope, we can beat Augsburg in 2 weeks, too.

Portuguese League 3rd Round results and comments:

Académica 1-1 V. Setúbal (Setúbal must be proud here with stealing a point away. Académica can forget better than mid-table position if they keep getting these results)
Belenenses 0-3 V. Guimarães (A bit caught by surprise with Guimarães good start of season. Feel sorry for Belenenses, I hope the good start wasn't just an illusion)
SC Braga 2-1 Estoril Praia (Obviously Braga had to win this. I read that all goals were spectacular but I haven't seen them yet)
Gil Vicente 1-2 Marítimo (And at the 3rd round, first manager victim is found, Gil Vicente's. Solid win away for Marítimo. Gil will struggle if things don't change with new manager)
Penafiel 0-1 P. Ferreira (Things must change for Penafiel, terrible return to main league so far. Paços could be up for a good season again, Paulo Fonseca is back after all and just 2 seasons ago he took them to Europe)
FC Porto 3-0 Moreirense (Porto's goals came by late which proves that Moreirense is not going to be any pushover. Advantage is on their side now with us rivals having tied in the other match)
Nacional 2-0 Arouca (Finally Nacional awakes but Arouca are known to be irregular team. Next round shall tell if it's a real awakening or just an odd victory at home)
Benfica 1-1 Sporting (I'm upset that me and many other Sporting fans weren't able to watch the match since it was only broadcasted by Benfica TV. T() Probably even the Benfica fans who can't afford paid channels feel the same way. I hope that when we play them at home match will be on Sporting TV...at least it's still open channel for everybody. All derby/classic matches should be broadcasted in open channel. But about the match...early goals and then from what I read and have seen it seems that we ended up on top, which is a good sign. I really think Benfica has it worst from the "big 3" this season. Away point at rival's always decent enough. Good thing that Slimani returned, he is our only striker hope (not saying anything about new guy that arrived at last minute yet) and scored the goal that was a complete offer from Benfica's goalkeeper Artur  He was disastrous and humiliated by own supporters and Sporting supporters. Poor guy, must still be traumatized. Don't understand why they don't put Júlio César yet. But I think that he wasn't only goalkeeper at fault...it felt like Rui Patrício could have done more in their goal too. I just don't feel safe with him. He has been overrated from a very young age, I wouldn't mind seeing him going in January. Oh, and ofc Benfica's manager Jorge Jesus could watch the match from the bench after all...Benfica and (in)justice always get by hand in hand )
Rio Ave 4-0 Boavista (Rio Ave keeps on demolishing with their superb start of season. I just hope they can show this strenght in their European matches as well. But they are inexperienced there, so I understand how can some pressure may be accusing on their side. As for Boavista they need a miracle...everyone knew it was not going to be easy, but this starts to look kind of shameful for a team with reputation like theirs)

Standings:

1 Rio Ave 9
2 V. Guimarães 9
3 FC Porto 9
4 SC Braga 7
5 Benfica 7
6 Belenenses 6
7 Marítimo 6
8 Sporting 5
9 V. Setúbal 4
10 Moreirense 4
11 Nacional 3
12 P. Ferreira 3
13 Académica 2
14 Estoril Praia 1
15 Arouca 1
16 Gil Vicente 0
17 Penafiel 0
18 Boavista 0
