:jp: Delayed match

Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1 - 0 Sagan Tosu

With this, Tosu is still leading with average goals but they're at the same points with Urawa, Hiroshima also rises to 6th place.

Cerezo is doing a bad season :(

Yea J-League is full of surprises and there's not always a dominating team that's why I love it xheart

The weirdest J.League occurrence I remember was the way Gamba Osaka got relegated in 2012.
Scored the most goals (67), finished up with a positive goal difference (+2) defeated the 3rd place ranked Urawa Reds by 5:0 and had famous players like for example Endo... but all this wasn't enough, they only reached 17th place and got relegated

Unfortunately I don't know much about the clubs so I dont have a connection to them and don't know which team I could support

I sympathize with FC Tokyo but kinda don't know why, they have great fans who rarely stop chanting (though not as good as Urawa's)

Portuguese league 1st round results:

FC Porto 2-0 Marítimo (rival getting ahead with an easy match and victory at home)
Gil Vicente 1-3 V. Guimarães (good away result for Guimarães, they could be on to a good start)
Académica 1-1 Sporting (unfortunate draw for my Sporting, we conceded a goal in last minute and before that William Carvalho kinda ruined the game for us by being sent off. We had the toughest match from the 3 chronic title candidates since we started playing away and it was rather bitter to see a victory escaping in last minute like that)
Nacional 0-1 Moreirense (good victory for Moreirense, that have just yet again returned to the top tier)
Rio Ave 2-0 V. Setúbal (Rio Ave making a solid debut at home that will provide needed moral for the upcoming Europa League matches. Setúbal have fetched an ex-Bayern goalkeeper somehow btw )
Penafiel 1-3 Belenenses (bad return for Penafiel to the 1st League, Belenenses were nearly relegated last season but this result must encourage them now)
SC Braga 3-0 Boavista (easy win for Braga in the "administrative" comeback of much appreciated Boavista. I'm concerned about them though, their team is looking very weak at the moment and I think the most they can aspire to this season is to fight to avoid relegation. Boavista from stellar European competitions nights is certainly only a distant memory now...still nice to have them back though)
Benfica 2-0 P. Ferreira (easy win to our most fierce rival after a terrible pre-season display. Season only really starts for them on away matches anyway, so their actual strenght for this season is yet to be seen..)
Arouca 1-1 Estoril Praia (good draw for Arouca against an Estoril that must be upset since they are again in European competitions this season and must show more. I think they've got a bad manager though so the season might be rather problematic)

1 SC Braga 3
2 Belenenses 3
3 V. Guimarães 3
4 Benfica 3
5 FC Porto 3
6 Rio Ave 3
7 Moreirense 3
8 Sporting 1
9 Estoril Praia 1
10 Arouca 1
11 Académica 1
12 Nacional 0
13 Gil Vicente 0
14 Penafiel 0
15 Marítimo 0
16 P. Ferreira 0
17 V. Setúbal 0
18 Boavista 0

I got so mad when Académica scored the equalizer...it really is stupid to score in the 15th minute and then not being able to score another goal til the end of the match.

And I think Boavista is in touble indeed...in these past few years they were on the 3rd tier and they weren't able to do anything special there

Radnički Niš 1:4 Partizan

Fantastic match from the start until the finish. We opened the match just like we should have, we were aggressive and dominant from the start, we knew what we wanted, and we have shown that from the first second. That literally brought us an advantage in 55th second of the match already. And after that it was much easier to play. Radnički had to open even more, as they were looking for a tiea nd that created more space for us in the last line of their time, so we managed to score 3 more goals, and with this margin now, this team of Partizan is the most efficient one since 2002, as we scored 7 goals already.

This victory on a very tough guesting against a good rival was a great overture for the important challenge that is awaiting us against :az: Neftchi Baku.

Full results:

OFK Beograd - Spartak Zlatibor Voda 0:0
Radnički 1923 - Napredak Kruševac 0:0
Donji Srem - Voždovac 1:0
Mladost Lučani - Vojvodina 1:2
Rad - Borac Čačak 2:1
Radnički Niš - Partizan 1:4
Čukarički - Novi Pazar 1:1
Crvena zvezda - Jagodina 3:0

We simply don't have a striker :? The Montero drought seems to be never-ending and we'll be in real trouble if Slimani ends up leaving. He saved a handful of matches for us last season and he wasn't even a starting 11 player until the end of the championship. This Tanaka guy we got...not sure what to think, probably needs a lot of time to adapt as Japense football is completely different from ours. But from what I remember he was having a pretty good season at Reysol, maybe Archer can confirm that? And I'm not sure yet if Shikabala is supposed to be a striker or play more backwards, fact is that he's been here for 8 months now and doesn't seem to convince anyone so far.

Btw, I really disliked the Rojo deal outcome. We're losing a young world class defender that was playing the final of WC a little over a month ago for 20M (which in the end will actually mean 4M) and getting Nani back on loan. Nani hasn't had a decent season (and WC for that matter) for how many years now? :? My only hope is that he can make the difference in here because it should be easier in the Portuguese championship. Still, I think we've got a bit screwed over. Time will tell.

I didn't get to observe him much actually, but just looking at some videos he seems to be a quality striker. There are lots of talents in Japan, and it's good some teams discover them. And yes, Japanese football is quite different than the modern industrialized one. That's why it's fun and not boring to watch.

I'm already excited for this saturday's session!

For those who are interested:
Today the league of world cup winners also known as Bundesliga is gonna start with the match between Bayern and Wolfsburg
I'm looking forward and hope for a tight match. Bayern still have some problems... Schweinsteiger and Martinez are injured, some other palyers haven't reached their top form yet because of the exhausting world cup. And it seems to me that Pep Guardiola isn't sure which formation he will decide for
Actually I don't give a f... about Wolfsburg, I only hope their new hyper- uber- superstar Nicklas Lord Bendtner will get some match practice today and it would be somehow hilarious if he manages to score against Neuer

Tomorrow there is another top match between Dortmund and Leverkusen. I will cross my fingers for Dortmund but I appreciate the new style which the new Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt wanna implement: Very aggressive pressing, so that the opponent team can't build up their game at all. If the Leverkusen team is able to implement this style as good as Red Bulln Salzburg did it, they'll have a great future ahead

In addition Werder Bremen has an away game in Berlin versus Hertha BSC. I don't have high expectations, but I hope we can make a surprise. I'm not satisfied with our squad, in my opinion we need more quality. Whatever, if we lose it's for sure not ours fans fault, since there will be around 8.000 Werder fans in Olympia stadium of Berlin

Partizan 3:0 Donji Srem

Yet another effective and certain victory. We were not as impressive as in the previous round, but anyway, the result is what matters. And Donji Srem has a very good team for the :rs: environment, a strong sponsor, so a victory like this should be a great satisfcation.

First half was quite bad, and I think that the team was generally emotionally drained after the duel against :az: Neftchi Baku. We did score in the 45th minute, but we had a huge number of wrong passes, we weren't dangerous for the goal, and we had a lot of mistakes in the last line of our team. Those mistakes luckily went unpunished. Second half was much better, and in the end we could have scored at least two more goals, but the end result is very good, and we must be satisfied with it. Especially, because we are now first on the table.

Now we can focus on the second leg against :az: Neftchi Baku, and that will be the match of the season for us.

Novi Pazar - Radnički 1923 2:0

Frankfurt didn´t have a bad start against Freiburg since we won but still a lot of work to do for our new coach, Thomas Schaaf (former Werder Bremen).
I hope we can improve our game in the next match against Wolfsburg.

Wow, Schaaf finally left Bremen? How many years were that, some 14?

Portuguese League 2nd round results and comments:

V. Guimarães 3-0 Penafiel (Easy match home for Guimarães confirms their good start of season. Favorable calendar or something else though? Time will tell)
Marítimo 2-1 Académica (Think everyone expected more from Académica after their tie with my Sporting but Marítimo are always a bit tough at home)
P. Ferreira 0-1 FC Porto (Porto adds up to their tally but everyone expected more goals. I didn't watch the match so don't know if P. Ferreira's merit or Porto uninspired)
Sporting 1-0 Arouca (First victory of the season came as hard as it could. Goal scored at 90+3. Inspired Arouca goalkeeper didn't help much either. We missed a penalty too which is now the talk of the week. Adrien, team captain and usual (effective) penalty scorer was supposed to take the penalty but recently arrived "hero" Nani took the ball himself and failed big time. He didn't impress during the match either. So I was kinda right when I said I think we got a bad deal with Man Utd. He better drop this diva attitude, I'm glad Marco Silva subbed him. About the only thing this guy did right so far since the start of the season.)
Belenenses 3-1 Nacional (Good result for Belenenses. I hope they can have a relaxed season at last. Nacional's looking pretty bad so far though so that might have helped)
Estoril Praia 1-5 Rio Ave (I did say Estoril have a bad manager for this season. I think they will struggle with him in charge. Rio Ave are having a good start of season and I think they are the next Portuguese team to put their name on Europe's map. They don't have the money or structure of a Braga but they have always had decent teams and they have a good manager this season. I think someone wrote here that they "hoped" that they would get Rio Ave in their Europe League draw a while ago and that made me chuckle. I wouldn't want that at all)
V. Setúbal 2-0 Gil Vicente (Setúbal just did what they had to do. Gil Vicente is looking mediocre again this season and Setúbal has high hopes, so..)
Boavista 0-1 Benfica (Didn't watch either but good to see Boavista losing by minimal difference and Benfica unimpressing on goals. The match was played in synthetic field so Benfica supporters are probably using that as excuse. Their manager Jorge Jesus got expelled at half time and might miss this weekend's derby at home against my Sporting, depending on the appeal)
Moreirense 0-0 SC Braga (This is good for Moreirense. I don't think they will struggle this season. Braga are again not impressing anyone, that overrated team :p)

1 Rio Ave 6
2 V. Guimarães 6
3 Belenenses 6
4 FC Porto 6
5 Benfica 6
6 SC Braga 4
7 Moreirense 4
8 Sporting 4
9 V. Setúbal 3
10 Marítimo 3
11 Estoril Praia 1
12 Arouca 1
13 Académica 1
14 Nacional 0
15 P. Ferreira 0
16 Gil Vicente 0
17 Boavista 0
18 Penafiel 0

Here's Rio Ave unofficial muse btw, maybe she's bringing them some luck. She's no bomb but I always thought her to be a talented, clever and cute girl
