Fenerbahce 0 - 0 Galatasaray

Cimbom played very well while Fener played very bad, I'm so disappointed that we didn't win against them in home this time ( as they couldn't get any points from Fener Stadium for 10 years )

Here are the highlights of the match

There is a big scandal in Romanian football now, with two referees acused of receiving money to help a team win. It happend in the following matches:

Dinamo Bucharest - Gaz Metan Medias 3 - 2
- the referee didn't give a red card to a player from Dinamo at the score of 1 - 2
- the referee gave an undeserved red card to a player from Medias at the score of 1 - 2
- the referee gave a free penalty for Dinamo at the score of 1 - 2

Otelul Galati - CFR Cluj 1 - 1
- the referee didn't validate a correct goal scored by CFR Cluj
- the referee gave an undeserved red card to a CFR Cluj player

CFR Cluj is acusing Dinamo of giving money to the referee to give a red card to Traore and Leonardo so they won't play in the match CFR Cluj - Dinamo, in the next round.

The draw for the quater-Finals of the Romanian Cup where today and we got two derby-es:

Rapid Bucharest - Steaua Bucharest
Dinamo Bucharest - Universitatea Craiova

FC Brasov - FC Timisoara
CFR Cluj - Gloria Bistrita

It will be interesting that we are playing against Rapid on 8th of November in Liga 1 and 3 days later in the Romanian Cup and both matches in Giulesti. They will beat us twice
To bad Dinamo is not playing in Craiova so they see the Oltenia hell, as Dinamo is the most hated team in Craiova....

On Monday we have the derby Rapid Bucharest - Steaua Bucharest in Liga 1, while on Thursday we have the same derby in the Romanian Cup. Rapid only won the league title 3 times and the Romanian Cup 12 times, while Steaua has 23 league titles and 20 Romanian Cups.

The match is more a rivelary than a derby because the hate comes only from Rapid towards Steaua, while Steaua only hates Rapid because they are a gipsy team.
The two teams where best friends until 1989 and they even played on the same stadiums (Republicii and Ghencea) for a while, until Rapid went back to the poor and filled with gypsies neighbourhood of Giulesti.

Why does Rapid hate Steaua:

1. In 1989 the two teams where friends and in the last round they where playing against each other. Steaua was already champion, while Rapid only needed a draw to avoid relegation. Steaua won 8-2 and sent Rapid to Liga 2.
2. In 1998 Steaua and Rapid where fighting for the league title. In the last round Rapid was playing in Craiova and they only needed a win to become champions and they even sent 5000 $ to Craiova players to let them win, but Steaua sent 15000 $ to Craiova coach Alecsanco and he confiscated the mobile phones of his own players and the match finished 2-2 and Steaua became champion.
3. In 2006 the derby was moved in the quater-finals of the UEFA Cup. Steaua dramaticaly qualified to the Semifinals after 1-1 in Giulesti, and 0-0 in the National Stadium (Ghencea Stadium was in renovation).
4. In 2006 both teams where fighting for the title and Rapid only needed a win against Farul Constanta, but Steaua gave money to some players from Farul that made the match of their life (especialy the goalkeeper George Curca) ending the matc 0-0 and making Steaua champions.
5. In 2008 both teams where fighting for the 2nd place and in the direct match in Giulesti, Rapid was leading 1-0 but in the '75 a lighter from the stands hit the referee directly in the head and he blowed the final whistle imediatly, Steaua wining 3-0.
6. In 2009 both teams where fighting for the 6th place (the last place that goes to Europa League) and Rapid only needed a win against already relegated Poli Iasi, but Steaua gave Iasi money and the match finished 2-2, with Steaua achiveing 6th place.

Interesting facts:

The light rail 41 goes from Giulesti to Ghencea and on matchday it becomes the horor tram.
Steaua is known as Barcelona of the East, while Rapid is knowns as Real from Giulesti, so the derby is almost like FC Barcelona - Real Madrid.

Here is the video of the 2nd round of the UEFA quater-finals in 2006 when Steaua qualified over Rapid on the away goal rule:

This evening at the match Universitatea Craiova - Otelul Galati 0 - 1 we had the best atmosphere I've ever seen at a football match. Today, Adrian Paunescu died. He was the composer of both Universitatea Craiova and Rapid Bucharest anthems, but his bigest love was Universitatea Craiova. He was my teacher at the university but in the last weeks I made his classes with his son. The stadium was full and everyone was singing Universitatea Craiova's anthem and they had lighted candels. The players had baloons and sent them to the sky. I almost cryed :((

The Norwegian league is finished, and here's the result:

1: Rosenborg 19-11-0 (58-24) 68
2: Vålerenga 19-4-7 (69-36) 61
3: Tromsø 14-8-8 (36-30) 50
4: Aalesund 14-5-11 (46-37) 47
5: Odd 12-10-8 (48-41) 46
6: Haugesund 12-9-9 (51-39) 45
7: Strømsgodset 13-4-13 (51-59) 43
8: Start 11-9-10 (57-60) 42
9: Viking 10-11-9 (48-41) 41
10: Lillestrøm 9-13-8 (51-44) 40
11: Molde 10-10-10 (42-45) 40
12: Stabæk 11-6-13 (46-47) 39
13: Brann 8-10-12 (48-50) 34
14: Hønefoss 7-6-17 (28-62) 27
15: Kongsvinger 4-8-18 (27-58) 20
16: Sandefjord 2-6-22 (25-58) 12

So... Rosenborg did not only win the league, they didn't even lose a single match, something that has never happened before, as far as I know. Vålerenga ended the season by beating bronze medalist Tromsø 3-0.

Hønefoss has to go thru play-off against Fredrikstad, Løv-Ham and Ranheim, the teams that ended 3rd to 5th in Adeccoligaen, the division below the top division. Ranheim is from Trondheim, same as Rosenborg, meaning Trondheim could have 2 top league teams next season. Gonna be tough tho, especially when you consider that they got promoted to Adeccoligaen last season, and aren't really prepared for Tippeligaen anyway.

Kongsvinger is relegated, and also facing bankruptcy, just like Lyn did earlier this season. They might still survive tho. A "funny" thing about this tho. Both Lyn and Kongsvinger are teams that a lot of supporters of my club (Vålerenga) hate with a passion... :p Sandefjord has been doomed for quite a while, but they really went down with the flag on top, after trashing Hønefoss 6-1 at home in the last match.

Initially, I thought next season was gonna be a race between Rosenborg and Vålerenga for the title, but a 3rd team might be able to get up there as well. Molde just got the Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjær as their manager, and he's done a great job coaching the United reserves the past seasons, and I think he could do amazing things. The only problem is, I don't like Molde. :p

Steaua qualified for the Semifinals of the Romanian Cup to:

Rapid Bucharest - Steaua Bucharest 0 - 1
As I said two days a go the legaue match was a goalkeeper's match, this was the same but Rapid changed the goalkeeper and that was good for us. Our goalkeeper saved us big time, it could've bin 8 - 1 for Rapid.
Rapid is still a gypsy team. I mean, their coach beat up ou team mangaer while a player from Rapid spit on our goalkeeper's coach.

Other results:

FC Brasov- FC Timisoara 1 - 0

Dinamo Bucharest - Universitatea Craiova 1 - 1 (4 - 2 after penalty-es)

CFR Cluj - Gloria Bistrita 0 - 1

Tonight we have the derby Dinamo - Universitatea Craiova. Dinamo stolled one league title from Craiova, they stolled their players and they relegated them so for Universitatea Craiova's fans the matches against Dinamo are the only ones that count. The two teams already met on Wedenseday in the Romanian Cup and Dinamo qualified at penalty shoot-out!

Dinamo - Universitatea Craiova 2 - 2

I must say that I love the originality of Universitatea Craiova's fans. As Dinamo's bigest regret is that they never played in the UEFA Champions League group stage this is what their rivals wrote on a banner:

banner-craiova.jpg

Translation: Dinamo in Champions League. No results found!

Partizan defeated Cukaricki xcheer. Though I am disappointed with 2 received goals, and the way we got them. Stojkovic is a great keeper for "close shots", but wtf is it with these free kicks and shots from distance from 30 meters :? Also, 2 players are removed from Partizan by the coach Stanojevic and were sent to Teleoptik, a second league team, which is like our B team  They won't be in the team for the CL match against Shaktar in Belgrade tomorrow, and they finished their career in Partizan probably.
