We have football these days too :D

Today:
20:00 Osasuna - Real Sociedad
20:00 Ath. Bilbao - Mallorca
22:00 Real Madrid - Español

Wednesday:
20:00 Barcelona - Sporting
20:00 Zaragoza - Hércules
20:00 Almería - Levante
22:00 Valencia - At. Madrid

Thursday:
20:00 Getafe - Málaga
20:00 Villarreal - Deportivo
22:00 Sevilla - Racing

Today we have three interesting matches. Osasuna - Real Sociedad is a typical Basque duel, but a friendly one. Supporters from both teams get along so well and even tend to help to each other in the last rounds... ¬¬ Each one started opposite to the other: Osasuna very weak and Real Sociedad awesome, so my prediction is clear. "Txuri-Urdin" (Real Sociedad) will get the three points.
Athletic de Bilbao and Mallorca have big rivalry too, not geogrpahical but I remember one play between these teams some years ago which ended up so tense, so I'm sure they will want to defeat each other even more, and both are good teams so anything is possible (if Fernando Llorente gaves his permission to Mallorca...)!!!
Real Madrid - Español does not have any interest to me. Español is kinda high cause they had quite an easy start, but they are not dangerous at all if you ask me, so Real Madrid will easily defeat them at home.

Osasuna 3-1 Real Sociedad
Ath. Bilbao 3-0 Mallorca
Real Madrid 3-0 Español

It seems I was wrong with Osasuna. As they hadn't score before and offered such an awful play, they completely changed everything and even were able to beat Real Sociedad. Congrats, rivals!
Athletic and Mallorca gave a boring match, which was decided that way cause Athletic has the crack Fernando Llorente and such an awesome team full of young talents. It's the old Athletic and yeah, I wish them the best luck, because it's not easy to make a team to compete with players just from Basque Country and some neighbour regions who are formed in Bilbao.
Real Madrid - Español also lied with that result. It was not a good match either, but you know, Real Madrid has good scorers while Español doesn't. That's all.

Today:
20:00 Barcelona - Sporting
20:00 Zaragoza - Hércules
20:00 Almería - Levante
22:00 Valencia - Atlético de Madrid

It looks easier for the home teams, but who knows. Barcelona seems far superior to Sporting. Zaragoza should be the same to Hércules, but as far as we've seen I can't trust too much: we did worse than expected and they did much better.... Levante has in Almería the best chance to start adding points to their pocket, Almería is one of the easiests fields to get it. And Valencia - Atlético seems to be the match of the day and the most close one, but I also bet for Valencia as they are playing awesome and with almost no mistakes at all, while Atlético showed some problems last week.

The matches started look better for Barcelona, Zaragoza and Levante at this moment. We'll see :)

The cup football-matches was played today...I'm not gonna list up all of the matches but there is one that i simply had to leave a comment on.

Varde IF - Brøndby IF 4-2 :lol:xrofl2xrofl2

Varde plays in 2.division (the third best league)...this is beyond awesome...this was just a regular boring wednesday until this happened...it seriously made my day .
Varde has now moved on the 1/8-finals :lol::lol::lol:

Brøndby is more and more turning into a madhouse. I just love how they commented that they were on their way back after their crisis (a crisis which has been lasting for five years since they won Superligaen in 2004/2005 ). Because of the fact that their fans put their section in Parken on fire (literally) they are now in danger of punishment of playing without fans for the next couple of matches.

Tomorow is a big derby in Romania: ,,U" Cluj - CFR Cluj
This is the 4th bigest derby of Romania after Steaua Bucharest - Dinamo Bucharest, Steaua Bucharest - Rapid Bucharest and FC Timisoara - UT Arad :D

I will use Michel's form of presenting the derby (I hope he doesen't mind)!

History:

CFR Cluj is the 2nd oldest team in Romania (after ACU Arad). It was founded in 1907 under the name Kolozsvari Vasutas SC Cluj and it was playing in the Hungarian championship as Cluj was under Hungary domination at the moment.
In 1921 the club changed his name in CFR Cluj and started playing in the Romanian championship. After World War II the Romanian football started growing and CFR Cluj was sent in the 3rd league. In 1949 they managed to promote in Liga I but they relegated fast. From 1950 until 2004 CFR Cluj played only 6 seasons in Liga I, their best position was a 5th place in 1973.
In 2002 the Hungarian buisnessman Arpad Pazskani wants to buy ,,U" Cluj (in Liga II at thst moment) but the municipality refuses to sell the team to Hugarians so he buys CFR Cluj that was in Liga III at that moment and starts investing. In 2004 CFR promotes in the first league and makes a fantastic first part of the season wining with 4-2 against Dinamo and 4-0 against Universitatea Craiova and drawing 1-1 with Rapid. The 2nd half of the season was weak and they finished 11th but because a lot of teams decline CFR Cluj gets an UEFA Intertoto participation where it reaches the Final after eliminating big names like Athletic Bilbao and Saint Etienne. In 2005 - 2006 CFR finishes 5th in the league. In 2006 - 2007 CFR Cluj manages a great season and finishes 3rd in the league, loosing the 2nd place (UEFA Champions League spot) in the last round at Dinamo. Dinamo was already champion at the moment and all their fans wanted Dinamo to lose so Steaua won't get the UCL spot, but Dinamo showed they are an honorable team and won, helping their rivals, Steaua. In their first participation in UEFA Cup, CFR lost in the first round with an agregate of 1-4 against Anorthosis Famagusta.
2007 - 2008 will be the season mosdt CFR fans will remember. CFR won the championship in the last round on the ground of their bigest rivals ,,U" Cluj, while CFR was wining the championship in that match, their rivals ,,U" where saying goodby to Liga I. In the UCL group CFR managed fantastic results wining 2-1 at AS roma and managing a 0-0 against Chelsea. The next season was a mediocre one with CFR finishing 4th, but they became champions for the 2nd time in 2009 - 2010.
Now CFR Cluj is playing in UEFA Champions League while is truing to avoid relegation

,,U" Cluj (Universitatea Cluj) is the real team of Cluj. Everyone in Cluj says ,,only U" while CFR Cluj is known as the Hungarian team from the train station.
,,U" was founded in 1919 and they played a lot of seasons in Liga I wining the Romanian Cup once.
,,U" relegated in Liga 2 in 1998 and managed to came back in 2007. They only lasted one season in Liga I, being the team with the bigest number of own goals in one season and relegating in the end after their rivals CFR won the match on Ion Moina (,,U" stadium) and the championship with that match. In 2008 - 2009, ,,U" avoid relegation in Liga III because FC Oradea wins against ACU Arad and helps ,,U". In 2009 the buisnessman Florian Walter moves from Dinamo and starts investing at ,,U" Cluj and the team promotes in Liga I in 2010.
Now ,,U" Cluj is 7th in the league and they are fighting to finish in TOP 6. Their bigest succes this season was 4-3 victory in Bucharest against Dinamo.

Geography, demography and fans:

,,U" Cluj used to played their home matches on Ion Moina but they demolished it and now they are building Cluj Arena in the center of Cluj. In the meantime ,,U" plays their home matches in Alba Iulia at 100 km south of Cluj. ,,U" is loved by 90 % of the people in Cluj and they have a lot of Ultras thry call ,,Red Hats". Their fans are very bad. In 2004 they sent 8 players from CFR in the hospital after beating them up, while in 2008 before ,,U" Cluj - CFR Cluj they went to the ,,U" players with the Bible and forced them to swear they will do anything to avoid CFR wining the league.

CFR Cluj playes on Dr. Constantin Radulescu stadium located in the neghbourhood of Gruia near the train station. Until Cluj Arena is finished CFR has the best stadium in Cluj and 4th best in Romania, one of the few stadiums where you can play UEFA Champions League mathes. The only people who suport CFR are the Hungarians from Cluj, the train workers and some young people that where raised with CFR latest results. Nevertheless CFR has a big number of fans in Ardeal and in the cities near Cluj.

Ribalary:

The rivalary comes because CFR Cluj wants to become the team of Cluj but the people continue saying ,,only ,,U""!

Here are the ,,U" Cluj fansd atacking an official from CFR:

The only match of the day in Liga 1:

,,U" Cluj - CFR Cluj 1 - 1
It was a great match. A real derby. A lot of chances by each team. ,,U" was sligthly better IMO. It's great that we didn't have any victims at this match. CFR is starting to play well, but depending on the results this round they can drop to last place. If they play like they did today, I think AS Roma can't beat them by more than 2 goals on Tuesday.

Let's hope neither Barcelona (aka farsa) or Real Madrid (aka real mandril) win this time. It's becoming a bit boring a predictable, both of them obtain like 143 millions E from TVs and Valencia, that's normally the thirth or fourth team in the ranking, only 73 millions E. Then the others like 30 millions E more or less. How this could be fair???

I want Barça to lose, cause then Girona FC, will have more supporters

AMUNT GIRONA FC !!!!xwooxwooxwoo

SC Vaslui - Gloria Bistrita 1 - 0
It was the match of ,,how many chances can the Vaslui players miss?"
Now Lopez Caro is sure he will be coach for another round.

Here are the results of today's matches:

Sportul Studentesc Bucharest - Astra Ploiesti 0 - 1
Astra is really improving with their new coach and I really think they have a chance to avoid relegation. This is also a great result for CFR Cluj because this result kept them out of the relegation zone.

Otelul Galati - Steaua Bucharest 1 - 0
This is enough. Those full of money players are not playing anything. They are bored. And we changed our 3rd coach this season today, only a week after we changed our last one
Now, Marius Lacatus is back and I am sure he will bring the fans back to the stadium, because he is a legend for us.
I am really surprised with Otelul, they are on top of the league and they only spent 50000 Euros this summer on transfers. They are the poorest team in Liga 1 and they only have players from their youth center. Congratulations to them!

Pandurii Targu Jiu - FC Timisoara 0 - 1
Now I feel bad Petrovic left because FC Timisoara started to win without him

Rapid Bucharest - Victoria Branesti 7 - 1
Rapid scored from every postion possible. Poor village team finally realised how hard is in Liga 1

Since Partizan tied with Spartak Zlatibor Voda (0:0) and Crvena Zvezda defeated Cukaricki Stankom with 1:0, these two big rivals are on the first spot of "Jelen Super Liga" for now

The last matches of the 9th round:

FCM Targu Mures - Universitatea Craiova 1 - 4
OMG! Craiova played awesome. With Piturca they are coming back to their glory days. I never seen Craiova so motivated since they played against Dinamo in 2009. Now they are out of the relegation zone, and guess who is there? CFR Cluj

FC Brasov - Gaz Metan Medias 0 - 0
Boring match. Gaz Metan are unbeatable on home ground, but away they are zero....

Unirea Urziceni - Dinamo Bucharest 1 - 0
I know it's ugly to laugh at your rivals when your team isn't better, but the way Dinamo defence plays it's really hilarious. They have the worst defence in the league.
I must aplaude Steaua's reserve team (Unirea Urziceni) that played very relaxed in defence and showed great counter-atack actions. I really hope Unirea Urziceni will avoid relegation now.

The table looks interesting. We have the poorest team on TOP, followed by Rapid and by unbeatable FC Timisoara. CFR Cluj is on relegation position

Table:

1. Otelul Galati 19
2. Rapid Bucharest 18
3. FC Timisoara 17
4. Gaz Metan Medias 15
5. Steaua Bucharest 15
6. Dinamo Bucharest 14
7. SC Vaslui 14
8. ,,U" Cluj 14
9. Unirea Urziceni 12
10. FC Brasov 11
11. Universitatea Craiova 10
12. FCM Targu Mures 10
13. Gloria Bistrita 9
14. Astra Ploiesti 9
15. CFR Cluj 9 (and this team is playing against AS Roma tomorow )
16. Victoria Branesti 8
17. Sportul Studentesc Bucharest 7
18. Pandurii Targu Jiu 6

The first matches of the 10th round:

Astra Ploiesti - Pandurii Targu Jiu 2 - 0
Astra is recovering well, Pandurii are kinda doomed to relegate again and I hope that at their 3rd relegation in a row thy will actualy play in the 2nd legaue

Universitatea Craiova - ,,U" Cluj 3 - 0
Craiova is just amazing. Those young players give so much. I've never seen a team play that enthusiastic in Liga 1 for some time.

Dinamo Bucharest - Otelul Galati 1 - 2 xfruits:
You gotta love our rivals. They score own goals, they receive stupid goals and they get red cards from nothing
Next round Steaua is going at Dinamo to neuter the Red Dogs
The miracle continues for Otelul, If they win the championship it will be a biger surprise even than when Unirea Urziceni won it....

It doesn't matter if CFR Cluj is in the bottom of the table. I mean Rabotnicki Skopje is in the middle of the table and they were this season the best Macedonian team and they played pretty good against Liverpool. The thing is Liverpool won 2-0 at home and Rabotnicki lost 3-0 away to a team Shkendija. xrofl3

Anyway the results from last weekend:
8th round:
Skopje - Napredok 1:0 :D
Sileks - Rabotnicki 2:0
Vardar - Shkendija 0:2
Renova Dzepciste - Bregalnica Stip 2:0
Pelister - Metalurg 0:0
Horizont Turnovo - Teteks 1:0

1 (2) Turnovo 8 5 1 2 12:6 16
2 (1) Metalurg 8 4 4 0 10:4 16
3 (3) Renova 8 4 3 1 9:3 15
4 (4) Shkendija 8 4 2 2 13:4 14
5 (8) Skopje 8 4 1 3 9:7 13
6 (5) Тетекs 8 2 5 1 6:4 11
7 (6) Rabotnicki 8 3 2 3 9:9 11
8 (7) Napredok 8 3 2 3 5:5 11
9 (9) Sileks 8 2 3 3 7:12 9
10 (11) Pelister 8 1 2 5 3:12 5
11 (10) Bregalnica 8 1 1 6 4:13 4
12 (12) Vardar 8 2 0 6 4:12 3

Yep! I noticed that some clubs play a lot different in European competitions than in their legaue. If CFR Cluj would play every match like they played against AS Roma, and Steaua would play every match like they played against SC Napoli they would both fight for the Liga 1 title and have a big advance

The results of today's matches:

Gloria Bistrita - Unirea Urziceni 0 - 0
Unirea is such a stuborn team! They are doomed to relegate but they won against Vaslui, Steaua and Dinamo. Steaua's reserves are playing realy well. Now I am wondering if we didn't send the wrong team to play for Urziceni and we kept the wrong one

FC Timisoara - Rapid Bucharest 2 - 1 xfruits:
I don't consider Rapid as our rivals but their players said they where so happy when SC Napoli scored against Steaua in the last minute that they felt like Rapid won the championship
FC Timisoara is still the only undefeated team in our league and Ianis Zicu is the Top Scorer of Liga 1 after his ,,double" today. And when I think that both Dinamo and Rapid turned him down

Yesterday matches:

Gaz Metan Medias - SC Vaslui 0 - 0
SC Vaslui didn't play anything. Gaz Metan was all over the field. I think Gaz Metan would've deserved to win.

CFR Cluj - FC Brasov 4 - 0
I would say CFR is back in buisness but they had two penalty-es + FC Brasov's goalkeeper got a red card in '32

Steaua Bucharest - Sportul Studentesc Bucharest 4 - 2 xfruits:
Finally! We played excellent. Tiky-Taka. To bad the championship got a break just before our match against Dinamo because if we would've catched them like this we would win 5 - 0

Today's match:

Victoria Branesti - FCM Targu Mures 0 - 0
Nothing worth mentioning in this match except the fact that a player from Victoria Branesti had ahuge fight with his coach

The table after 10 rounds:

1. Otelul Galati 22
2. FC Timisoara 20
3. Rapid Bucharest 18
4. Steaua Bucharest 18
5. Gaz Metan Medias 16
6. SC Vaslui 15
7. Dinamo Bucharest 14
8. ,,U" Cluj 14
9. Universitatea Craiova 13
10. Unirea Urziceni 13
11. CFR Cluj 12
12. Astra Ploiesti 12
13. FC Brasov 11
14. FCM Targu Mures 11

We have the Romanian derby, Dinamo - Steaua, on Sunday! xfruits:

Steaua

- the most important Romanian team. Founded in 1947, Steaua won the Romanian Championship 23 times and the Romanian Cup 20 times
- is the first Eastern European team to win the UEFA Champions League (2-0 against FC Barcelona in 1986)
- also won the European Super Cup (1-0 against Dinamo Kyev in 1987)
- played another Uefa Champions League Final (0-4 against AC Milan in 1989)
- never won the UEFA Cup but in 2006 it was very close to do it. They had 3-0 against Midelsbrough in the '30 of the Semifinal but lost 3-4 in the end
- 60 % of Romanian inhabitants are Steaua fans
- Steaua dominates the South-West part of Bucharest where Ghencea Stadium (The Temple of the Romanian football) (28000 seats) is located
- until 1998 Steaua belonged to the Romanian army
- the owner of Steaua, Gigi Becali, is a European Parliament member
- there are several Romanian cities where Steaua has a lot of fans and always feels like home ground for them: Constanta, Buzau, Focsani, Bacau, Bistrita, Targu Jiu, Petrosani, Braila, Sibiu, Ramnicu Valcea, Oradea, Satu Mare
- important dates: 15 December 1947 (Steaua was founded), 7 May 1986 (Steaua won the UEFA Champions League), 22 September 2010 (Steaua fans hacked Dinamo's site and wrote ,,Forzza Steaua!" there )
- curently Steaua is 4th in the league and it's the bigest favourite to win the league title after their fusion with Unirea Urziceni

Dinamo

- is the 2nd most succesful team in Romania
- founded in 1948 after the fusion of Unirea Tricolor Bucharest and Ciocanul Bucharest
- 18 times winer of the Romanian Championship and 12 time Romanian Cup winers
- not to succesful in Europe being eliminated over the years by small teams like Nentroni 17 Tirana, IF Elfsborg and NEC Nijmegen
- most important result in recent European Competitions was a crazy match against Slovan Liberec. In the match in Bucharest, Slovan was leading 2-0 but the Dinamo fans enterd on the field so the referee blow the Final whistle and Liberec won by 3-0. In thr 2nd leg, in Liberec, Dinamo won by 3-0 and qualified at penalty shoot-out
- played a UEFA Champions League Semifinal in 1984
- their bigest regret is that they never played in the UEFA Champions Legaue group stage even if they had two chances. In 2007 they only needed that the UEFA Champions Legaue winer to be a Legaue title winer to but AC Milan wasn't that. In 2009 they where runing alone for the legaue title but surprisingly lost against Unirea Urziceni
- they don't have many fans. Most of them live in Northern Bucharest where Stefan cel Mare Stadium (The Pit) (15000 seats) is located
- they are loved in Alba Iulia and Medias but they are very hated in Craiova and Timisoara where they always have to go with police escort
- until 2000 they belonged to the Romanian Police
- important dates: 22 September 1948 (Dinamo was founded), 10 May 1997 (Dinamo fans burned the Southern part of Ghencea Stadium ), 5 October 2000 (Dinamo's captain Catalin Haldan died on the field :(( )
- they call themselves Red Dogs
- Dinamo's Executive Director, Cristi Borcea, is the Godson of Gigi Becali (Steaua owner) and in 2007 after Dinamo lost against Lazio in UEFA Champions League, Gigi Becali called Cristi Borcea and started making like a cat
- curently Dinano is 7th in the legaue and they come after 5 defeats in a row

Important moments:

- In 2007 Dinamo was already Champion and Steaua was 3rd and in the last round Dinamo was playing against CFR Cluj (2nd place). Steaua needed their rivals help to finish 2nd and get the UEFA Champions League spot and that was an important moment. The stadium was full and every Diamo fan was suporting CFR Cluj, and every Steaua fan was suporting Dinamo  Dinamo played like it was the match of their life and won with 1-0. Gigi Becali gave 1 milion Euros to Dinamo as a reward for their help and waved the Dinamo flag. That's the moment Dinamo lost their fans suport and Gigi Becali became very hated by Steaua fans.

- in 2008 Stea was first in the league and only needed a draw against Dinamo in the last round to win the Championship. Everybody tought that the Godfather - Godson have an arangement but Dinamo won by 2-1 and that way CFR Cluj became champions

Another interesting fact is that Steaua and Dinamo are the only Romanian teams that never played in a lower division.
