And I thought Donji Srem was from Mitrovica. Doesn't Sremska Mitrovica have a football team, Milos? Like in second league? When I was there 8 years ago or so, I saw the stadium. And it is an ok stadium.
There are few teams that are originally from villages in the Macedonian league. One kinda known is Renova. They participated few times in the EL, once in a CL and once in Intertoto (beating Rijeka I think ). Also, Drita is from a village. Both of them now play in Tetovo, because those villages don't really offer stadiums or anything like that. Turnovo is from a village too.

Here is the table in the :mk: championship. Vardar seems content at the top. It is interesting that Rabotnicki is fourth, but has the most goals conceded.

I think you meant on FK Srem :D

FK Srem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Actually, I am pretty certain it was this one :D They have been in the second league ("Prva Lige Srbije" is a second league in :rs: and "Jelen Super Liga" is the first one) as far as I know for myself  They are not a bad team generally, but somehow always manage to end either in the middle of the table or they are fighting for survival in the league.

Renova is a local rival of Skendija Tetovo right, the team that we met last year? :D

Btw, I heard that Skendija became champions in a similar way Obilic was the champion of :rs: at the end of '90s, is that true?

Oh, I guess that's the one. That whole area around their stadium is pretty nice and they have a nice beach there (and this was so many years ago). It looked very nice for a small place. :)

Teteks is the local rival of Skendija, as these are older teams. Renova is a newer team with some aspirations for a better placement in Europe (and currently ranked as the best Macedonian team in Europe xshock  ). 8 or so years ago they were in the second league and in the third league as well, kinda like Drita right now. They might be following the same path. I don't like Drita or Skendija, they are very nationalistic teams (Skendija especially). Renova isn't such team, and they are a pretty mixed team as well (of Albanians, Macedonians, Serbs, etc)/ :D
No, Skendija was only once a champion, when Partizan trashed them! They were in the First League in the 90's for few seasons, but they were always among the bottom 5 teams.
How did Obilic became a champion then? Maybe it is another team in the :mk: league that won the same way.

The stadium is called "Promenada" and it looks quite nice indeed :D

Ah, so it is Teteks :D Yes, I know about them as well :D However, I didn't know that Renova is, generally, a newer team in your league. Also, I was obviously wrongly informed about Renova, as another wrong info I had is that it is a nationalistic team just like Skendija, and that is why I thought that the two of them are rivals. But, it is more clear now :D

Skendija is something like Novi Pazar in Serbia. They are extremely nationalistic and their home field is the their strongest weapon. Last season I think they were undefeated at home in Novi Pazar. Their supporters are also mostly extreme nationalists. As a team, they were really bad last season, but they had supporters behind them on the home field and that brought them a solid number of points. This season they are stronger, but they have a worse saldo than last season in this time.

Also, they didn't win their right to enter the Super Liga on the field, but it was a political decision. BASK (who were the champions of the second league in the 2010/2011 season) was forced to withdraw, and let Novi Pazar replace them. Two teams from the second league enter the first one at the end of the season - BASK was 1st, Radnicki 1923 (Radnicki Kragujevac) was 2nd and Novi Pazar was 3rd. BASK was forced to withdraw and let Novi Pazar in, and now "as a legal punishment", BASK is kicked into the third league and Novi Pazar is in the first one  Balkan soccer is a circus Colorado for some things

Obilic was first because Arkan used to be one of the most powerful people in our country. He was threating other teams with guns during half time to let Obilic win etc........now, I am certain that Skendija didn't use those methods, but I think they meant that it was some sort of a pressure.

Don't know if it's true though

Yeah, that is the stadium (although, I haven't been inside). I've just passed by it. :D

When Shkendija won the title 2 years ago, they kinda did use force. I mean at the half players from other teams, especially Rabotnicki (who was second at the time I think?) were threatened and some beaten up. FFM then punished Shkendija of one game not to play at their own field + some money. Like that is a punishment!?? :? Some other teams were saying the same thing (that they were threatened, but not beaten), but it wasn't cleared. Shkendija was really good at their home field at the time, not losing a single game. So yeah, kinda like Novi Pazar then. Also, the fans of Shkendija brought the :mk: flag down and burnt it. FFM was again silent for that and I blame mainly FFM. Now with the new people at FFM, things like this will not be seen THANKFULLY!!!
In the 90's we've had incidents between Vardar and Sileks. The person who was in charge of FFM at the mid-late 90's, was also and still is the owner of Sileks Kratovo. So he was putting fingers, like setting up games (no pressure, but there were the refs, etc) and Sileks became champion couple of times. There was a huge incident once after a game between Vardar and Sileks in Skopje. Vardar didn't win and the fans went crazy on the streets. There were fights, some material damage, etc. The fans from Vardar came out with a song in the 90's "Dzingo peder, napred Vardar". Dzingo is the owner of Sileks, and today the same chant is going on every single game, even on the national teams (whether it is basketball, handball or football).

Renova's fans might be also odd, but they aren't that bad and nothing like Shkendija's. Vardar fans only like Teteks fans and nobody else really. They don't get along with the others. I've been right near them when Kometal (the best ever :mk: handball team in womens category) used to play in the CL. You can't hear the ref's whistle because of them.

So, the stories that I heard about Skendija's title are true  It was similar over here with Obilic, as the players were threatened with death. For example, a story that I heard from one person whose cousin was working in a security (similar things were said on TV as well):

Obilic was playing against OFK Beograd at the Karaburma stadium (OFK Beograd's stadium), and they were losing with 1:0 on half-time. During the break, Arkan entered the dressing room of OFK Beograd armed with AK-47 (shocking, but true ) saying something like: "will you let us win this match or should I use this baby?"

And then of course in the second half Obilic scored 3 goals and won with 3:1 in the end.

Zvezda also got a one match suspension for their audience after last autumn's derby where they were assaulting our players with "cannon strikes" It was an atmosphere of lynching on Zvezda's stadium back then, and they only got a one match of suspension + an explanation from the Serbian Minister Of Defence (also their supporter) that "only Zvezda's supporters were on the level of the derby" xcrazy

Novi Pazar quite often gets these punishments as well. I saw the scene where Skendija fans burned the Macedonian flag (and when they were playing against Partizan they raised a huge Albanian flag on their tribune.......a point is more, of course, more than clear  They were thinking of the best ways to provoke since we were drawn together in that duel), and similar things were happening in Novi Pazar as well. The supporters of Novi Pazar were also burning the Serbian flag, they were raising the Turkish ones, and on one match against Partizan they even invited some supporters from :tr: to come and root with them in Novi Pazar against Partizan

It is indeed ridicilious to have teams that play in your league and that treat you like that, but this is Balkan (ovo je Balkan, c'mon ), everything is possible and permittable.

Also, luckily, you have new people in charge of your national association now, while us......... Well, Tole & Co. will rule until the end of the world  The most important thing for our Tole is that our league "is more regular than the others" It's not regular, but it's "more regular than the others"

In :rs: the situation is different when it comes to supporters. While other supporters do exist (like "Firma" of Vojvodina, "Crveni Djavoli" of Radnicki 1923, etc.......) it is mostly, or almost entirely a rivalary between Crvena Zvezda and Partizan  Real and Barca's rivalry is also quite huge, but when I compare it to this.........it doesn't get anywhere near  Even in the national team, it used to happen that Partizan fans support only those players who play or have played in Partizan, and Zvezda's fans support only those who play or have played in Crvena Zvezda etc etc

You know that those idiots tried to kill our goalie Vladimir Stojkovic because he moved from Crvena Zvezda to Partizan in Genoa, etc etc.......

In :rs: it is first about Partizan and Crvena Zvezda and then about the national team. The supporters of Vojvodina, Radnicki etc.......don't have this problem but the proportion of people who support those teams (Vojvodina, I think has 3 % of supporters or even below that as being the 3rd biggest Serbian team.....what to speak of the others:lol:) is extremely small, and most people from cities that have a local team competing in Jelen Super Liga (Kragujevac, Uzice, Nis, Novi Sad) support either Partizan or Crvena Zvezda

Partizan defeated Sloboda Point with 5:0 on our stadium. The best performance of our team since the begining of the season. It could've been even more goals in Sloboda's net. They didn't play a bunker like most teams are playing against Partizan and Crvena Zvezda in this league, but Partizan was better in all aspects of the game. We are still the leaders of the championship.

Next match against Vojvodina on Saturday will be a derby and the hardest match in the league so far for us, but we need to win in Novi Sad any way we can. Before this match, we have a cup match against Proleter, where we are absolute favorites. The match is played tomorrow.

Steaua won against Rapid on Monday, with a goal scored exactly in the last second of the game. It was a sweet win, as we won on home ground against our rivals after 10 years + it was the first goal scored by our captain :) 42.000 people just went crazy after the goal :D

The 1/16 finals of the Serbian cup has finished yesterday. Partizan defeated Proleter with 4:1. So, we passed the first round without any drop of sweat :D At the end of the first half, it was already 4:0 for Partizan, so in the second one we pulled a handbrake and thus we let Proleter to soften the defeat by scoring a honorific goal. We are ready for the derby against Vojvodina on Saturday :D !

As for the other matches, there were no surprises in all but two matches. Radnicki 1923 was eliminated by Novi Sad with 1:0, and Sloboda Point was eliminated on their own field by Inđija with 1:0.

Partizan defeated Vojvodina with 3:0 in the derby of the 7th round. What an easy victory, we literally thrashed them. This is one of the hardest matches in the league for us, and we have never managed to beat Vojvodina this easily. They were dangerous only in first 30 minutes of the match. After that, Partizan controlled everything that was happening on the field.

We can now travel full of optimism to Kazan on the match against Rubin, but I don't expect anything else than to "die like heroes". They are too strong for us atm I think. May they fight till the end, and then what happens, happens.......

Steaua Bucharest - CFR Cluj 1 - 0 xfruits:
And we did it! We won the most important match this fall! And not only we won, but statistically CFR Cluj had more shots on target against Manchester United then they did against us. We dominated them in every single way possible. And about 40.000 people made the stadium a hell for CFR :D The break is coming but we won't get any, because the Romanian national team selected 9 players from us + we have Georgievski for :mk: and probably Nikolic for :me:

Partizan defeated Javor with 2:1 yesterday and, thanks to Zvezda's defeat from Spartak Zlatibor Voda (with 3:0  :lol::lol:) Partizan is back on the first spot of the league. It was an easy victory against Javor who is a very serious team this season, and it is good to return to the first spot, but we lost our goalie Vladimir Stojkovic for the entire half-season, as Ifeani (a player of Javor) broke his left shoulder :(

Now he won't be able to play against :be: and :mk: in the national team either..........but oh well.......the important thing for him is to recover.

We are playing our next match against Rad and that will be the hardest match where we will play as guests. Marko Nikolic, the coach of Rad (and also one of the best Serbian coaches imo), made a very serious team out of practically anonymous players, and Rad plays a very nice soccer in our league. One of the best ones. If we win there, we are on a good way to defend the title.....
