Midnight, it's time to put your face on
Game set, a killer shark in heels
I'm just the first shot on your hit list
High kicks, a predator on wheels
Woke up with bruises on my body
Hands tied, like Jesus on the cross
Your name's in lipstick on the mirror

Jezebel
I don't know how you got in my blood
Was it the dangerous things you do?
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey
You lick your lips as you walk away
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart
Jezebel

At night you turn into a tiger
A girl who looks like she's a boy
The world's most ultimate survivor

Jеzebel (Jezеbel)
I don't know how you got in my blood (Jezebel)
Was it the dangerous things you do? (Jezebel)
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel (Jezebel)
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey (Jezebel)
You lick your lips as you walk away (Jezebel)
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart

Sunrise, you crawl under the covers
Sleep tight until the dying sun
Tonight you'll catch another lover
Jezebel

Jezebel (Jezebel)
I don't know how you got in my blood (Jezebel)
Was it the dangerous things you do? (Jezebel)
You always wanted to be a star
Jezebel (Jezebel)
If you're the hunter then I'm the prey (Jezebel)
You lick your lips as you walk away (Jezebel)
Your final kiss is to leave a scar
On a heart

Tbh that was my initial reaction to the song too but its a big big big grower
You would argue that first impression is what usually matters in ESC and I would agree, although the bar is not very high this year in general.

yeah it is pretty low but we still haven't heard like a half? of the songs by now, so it's not like this year is already doomed

i do hope they'll do well and don't end up as a borderline nq because it's still a decent effort from a good band, very much in their style which is definitely something to appreciate and there's a bit of nostalgia speaking through me but "decent" is just not enough, it needs to make an impact, especially if it's a rock/metal entry, and Jezebel is just leaning towards a classic example of mom rock. I'm afraid it might end up as a background for the others. A stellar performance can create this impact where it's lacking, but today it was a little bit too far from being stellar.

Why do fans selectively hear ' bad '' vocals?
Everyones crucifying this for Lauris vocals but at the same time they adore Ukraine even if the ukrainian singer is shouting out of tune the chorus onto the microphone.
tbf I don't like either that much

Heard the winner on the :cz: radio yet again - on my way to pick up friends to watch the show with.

After hearing Jezebel they basically lost interest in all songs that came afterwards, which I find sad and great at the same time :D

I'm glad to see The Rasmus won. Jezebel had been a bit of a fader with me over the weeks since it was revealed but there's still something to enjoy there with it. My feelings on the performance are mixed. It comes off as a bit weak at times vocally speaking but I don't think there's too much that can be done. Lauri just doesn't have the strongest rock voice. What he does have though is a whole bucket full of charm and that should help the band to probably do fairly well this May.

I liked the bit where Lauri's coat fell off 🥺 but not as much as I liked the entire three minutes of Isaac's performance 👉👈 What a fabulously steamy performance. I loved everything about it. Kuuma jäbä would have been my first 12 of the year had Finland picked it.

For The Rasmus I'm going the give a very respectable :8: points. Jezebel is for sure one of the more likeable entries picked so far but I'm still waiting for songs I want to properly sink my teeth into. I can't remember ever having to wait until March for my first 12 to come.. if it even does.

Weirdly Eurovision picked for my Mum today as she's a fan of both The Rasmus and Sheldon Riley.

Anyway, finally a NF won by my n°1 in it this year (if we don't count Vidbir and the whole Alina situation), I almost stopped hoping it would happen.
Yes, the vocals could use some improvement which I doubt possible, but the staging is great and song as well. I have no doubts about :fi: qualifying and then doing well with the televote.
:12: points and tying with Kalush for my current n°1.

Sigh. I wanted Younghearted to win. It was -by far- my favorite. (Going to download it for sure!)

The Rasmus on the other hand was toward the bottom for me. It just feels dated. I mean, couldn't they have chosen a different name? Man, there are a LOT of songs already written about a Jezebel.

It was obviously what both the Finnish people and the juries liked best, so in that sense, it was the right winner. But I am just not on board with this song.

Time for me to go learn some Finnish so I can sing along to Sun numero.

By the way, I hope it’s clear now that openning the competition is not a bad thing and YLE didn’t try to sabotage The Rasmus with the running order, especially when there were only seven songs.

I love this, of course. Yet I find it a bit too unusual for Eurovision, it’s not as easy to grab as Dark Side. The many key changes (though I like key changes) are too much that’s why I‘m on the fence between 12 or 10 points but the short guitar solos in between are awesome!!!

Well, last year was far better imo, the song for one sounded more competitive and stronger. Actually this isn't bad at all and quite liked the live performance, even if it wasn't flawless (not that it always particularly matters), it's just the song isn't really all that. I don't think Finland will be disappointed come May, but i'm not too bothered by it. :6:

I'm very happy with the choice, the song has really grew on me since the first time I heard it, even tho the lyrics still remain kinda ridiculous, but the melody is awesome.

Now about the performance, since they have the girl on stage anyway, I don't really understand why they needed a cartoon with her on the background. If she appeared only in the last chorus like in the video it would make sense. But anyway it doesn't matter that much, it just bothered me. Vocally the lead singer was much better than in the preview, far from perfect but he was decent. As it is right now I see it as a qualifier but idk about its final placement. The performance needs a bit more work imo.

I think this could win it all if it has perfect staging :12:

In my opinion the wrong choice, even though it was the predictable outcome. Weird how Bess only came third with the televote despite dominating the Finnish charts... Isaac's performance unfortunately was really weak, so he probably got the placing he deserved.

I will need some time to evaluate and rank this.

But in the meantime.....

I want rock/metal for Finland in 2023. Just for fun, you know.

Cause now I want them to repeat 2006-2008 streak. xyes
