The more ESC fans in general complain, the happier I usually am. There are lots of exceptions, of course.
The taste of ESC fans in general doesn't always correlate with what Europe likes. It was between this and Mikko Pohjola for a song that actually sounds like 2014 and could work in Europe (Mikko Pohjola more as a showcase of a typical Finnish radio song), and this won.
Softengine might fail miserably. They may not. However, you don't select songs based on how well they would do in ESC. The top two in UMK is very much representative of what Finland likes to listen to, and that's what ESC is all about.
I'm happy. You may not be. However, I feel that this is the first time in a few years we've sent something the Finnish public actually listens to normally. We've had good songs during that period, some really good (2011), but this time, we had a top two consisting of songs that already were and will be played on the radio because that's what many Finns like. I would've liked Mikko Pohjola as well, but Softengine edged it.
