xyaay

Out of a less-than-stellar selection, we chose the best. This corrects some of last year's errors.
Now hoping for Switzerland!

...and Finland plummets to the bottom of my list! I'm actually ashamed of y'all :( Mikko was far superior to the bland piece of crap you've chosen...

I love how all the finns in here support Softengine, wheres pretty much none of the non-Finns support them... just a reminder: It's the rest of Europe that will vote in May ;)

The results were predictable, but one should expect more from juries (well not... but in theory).

Finland hasn't chosen correctly. They have 2-3 options better than Softengine...

Exactly. Newsflash Finland, you just guaranteed your stay in the semi-final with that. You have to think outside of your own borders.

Belgium was cute last year (and he sang really well!)

But I'm not so sure about Finland this year :?

Somehow, Softengine really grew off fast. I already thought that Lauri Mikkola and Clarissa & Josh were better than them. Meeeeeeh choice.

Softengine is not terrible, but... Sincerely, I'm not happy with the final decision.

The more ESC fans in general complain, the happier I usually am. There are lots of exceptions, of course.

The taste of ESC fans in general doesn't always correlate with what Europe likes. It was between this and Mikko Pohjola for a song that actually sounds like 2014 and could work in Europe (Mikko Pohjola more as a showcase of a typical Finnish radio song), and this won.
Softengine might fail miserably. They may not. However, you don't select songs based on how well they would do in ESC. The top two in UMK is very much representative of what Finland likes to listen to, and that's what ESC is all about.

I'm happy. You may not be. However, I feel that this is the first time in a few years we've sent something the Finnish public actually listens to normally. We've had good songs during that period, some really good (2011), but this time, we had a top two consisting of songs that already were and will be played on the radio because that's what many Finns like. I would've liked Mikko Pohjola as well, but Softengine edged it.

xyeah I really don't know what to say... I mean, it's not a surprise that Softengine won, but... Sängyn reunalla is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long time, and it was so close to winning xcryxcryxcry
I'll just listen to it over and over and over again now xsnooty

4pts - bland, boring and nothing new, though it is quite strong melodically. Mikko was miles better so I'm fuming T()T()
