Playing with teams that know you the best/have similar style + the risk of hooliganism which might be a problem, similar to one we have now with Italy (which has nothing to do with Italy but the federation) but on a larger scale. ^^

On 25th July the draw of the groups of European qualification for the WC 2018 will be held.

The pot allocation is based on the FIFA World ranking

As we know the FIFA World Ranking is far away from being perfect, so there are some strange outcomes
Romania & Wales (!) in Pot 1, two big teams & in Pot 2 (just like )
I am also pretty surprised that Faroe Islands reached Pot 4, actually that is a damn huge success, however I have no idea how they made it They can say thank you to Greece I guess

Maybe I will do my own just-for-fun draw in the next days

Looks like the Elo Ranking is a much much better system. The FIFA ranking is too heavily influenced by the results of the last year or so.

Elo ranking was designed for chess rankings and serves to give the probability of one opponent beating another. The FIFA rankings appear to be made on random.org

You're right but look at the bright side, you won't pay too much on flights and accomodation

Would be a fun group! I would just put San Marino, so at least all of us start with 6 points (even though that's never too sure with Macedonia)!
