You cant expect all Uefa Teams to make it to the Final. Croatia and Spain had very strong groups where it is no disgrace to fail in the first round. But at least they were competitive in the opposite to many asians and africans.

Nigeria, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica and Australia played a lot better football than England, Russia, Croatia Italy, Portugal or Spain in 2014. Iran gave an amazing performance against Argentina but lost in injury time, Algeria gave Belgium and Germany a massive scare, Australia played really well against NL and Chile.

The World Cup isnt as one-sided as your European bias seems to think. There will always be minnows from Africa and Asia at the World Cup, but just because these aren't great teams doesn't mean they cant surprise. Likewise a lot of the big European teams were humiliated in the group stage. Maybe enjoying international football just isnt for you.

I dont say that I want them completely out, but to give lets say europe 2 spots more and asia and africa one less. And yes, of course sometimes they have a good match, but that good match could sweden etc.. have played too. And If i Remember right, we had in every WC this century at least 2 European teams in the semifinal and no african and only 1 asian team, so yes, it is one-sided. I want next year at least one african plus one asian in the quarterfinal to prove that they are worth their many spots.

My Northern Europe heart is bleeding after this draw...

Sweden really recovered quickly after Zlatan left and they impressed me especially against France. Moreover they made Belarus und Bulgaria look like Andorra in their home matches. And even a 8:0 win against Luxemburg is quite an achievement, one month after Luxemburg drew to France... it feels like Sweden deserves the WC spot and now they gotta play against the giant Italy...probably a mission impssoible for Sweden.
To be honest, I dont quite understand how Sweden ended up in the unseeded pot while Denmark became a seeded spot... Sweden were better in the qualificaton campaigns for Euro as well as for WC and they qualified for Euros while Denmark didn"t Yes I know the ranking is based on mathematical logic but without digging deeper it doesnt seem to make sense to me
Nevermind, I also support Denmark so I dont complain. I just wish Denmark would have gotten Greece instead of Ireland... I"d like to see both Denmark and Ireland in Russia next year... Denmark for having some cool players (Eriksen, Delaney, Poulsen) and Ireland for their wonderful fans. And now they will knock each other out

Croatia is experienced in play-off matches but Greece is unpredictable and they have the ability to get good results while playing shitty. I dont know a single person who likes Greece national team... I hope Croatia just plays as good as in the first half of the group stage & the last match.. cause then Greece shouldnt stand a chance

Switzerland vs Northern Ireland? I dont really care... Switzerland had an impressing run in the group stage but when you look closer you will realize their group was the joke of the century.... but they still beat Portugal, so respect for that... Northern Ireland is a bit like "Iceland light" . similar playing style, mentality, spirit, strengths and weaknesses... and similar success... well not on the same level as Iceland, thats why they are "Iceland light"
For me this is reason enough to cross my fingers for them

Nothing against Greece as a country but i never really enjoyed the Greek national team. With Croatia i expect much more exciting games in Russia. Also very happy for even though the way they won was not fair imo. Looking forward to the home match. Will be very exciting

DR Kongo would be more interesting since theyve never been there, but thats nearly impossible.
But I really hope that Morocco makes it, Ivory Coast is every year very overrated, which is annoying.
