Thats what I also say. Last Year we had very bad Teams like Cameroon, Australia, Honduras etc
And on the other side, Sweden for example failed to Qualify because they had bad luck getting the later Worldchampion Germany in the Group (they even managed to make a 4:4 from a 0:4) and in the Playoffs Portugal.

This Year again Sweden, NL and France; at least one of them, has to stay at home, while in Africa we have a group with Tunisia, Lybia, Guinea and DR Kongo..

I think ::ulst and maybe have also enough quality to belong to the best 48 Countries in the World. So 16 Spots for Europe are not enough.

A match between winner of this weak African group vs 3rd team from European group should determine qualification. Otherwise is very unfair.

No asian qualifier apart of maybe Iran would have had a chance to qualify for WC in the Euro qualifiers.

Judging by potential Japan would be good enough but they are underperforming in most matches. In Asia they get through with it, in Europe they would end up on 3rd or 4th place of the group

South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Australia wouldn even come close

But well, Fifa loves to kiss the asses of exotic country + they wanna open up new markets thats why other confederations have more places than they deserve

It's because of stupid FIFA Ranking in which countries like Burkina Faso or Haiti are on the same level as Scotland or Greece for example.

We already have EURO to put all those countries (imo 24 countries is already too much). I think other countries from other continents deserve a chance to be in the world cup, some of them can do wonders with less money and resources than some european teams

I think the sense of a world cup should be that the best 32 of the world participate. And if among them are 24 Europeans then thats what it is. Africa and Asia should deserve their Spots by getting good results. I mean in S-America 4,5/10 get a WC-Ticket because they worked for it. But regarding the last WC i dont see why Cameroon or Australia deserved their spot more than for example sweden.

From 2026 on South America will have 6.5 spots in the world cup. This means that in a confederation of 10 teams, a potential of 7 will be represented in the World Cup. I think that one is a complete joke, no matter how good South American nations are comparing to Africa, Asian and North America. Oceania will also have 1.5 spots, I pity the one besides New Zealand that will have to play the play-offs

True, but the same applies to UEFA teams, as more than 50% of the spots reserved for them (7/13) couldn't pass the first round in the last WC.

You cant expect all Uefa Teams to make it to the Final. Croatia and Spain had very strong groups where it is no disgrace to fail in the first round. But at least they were competitive in the opposite to many asians and africans.
