The BBC made a one-off TV film called 'Christopher And His Kind' based on the autobiography of novelist Christopher Isherwood who was an upper-class British who went to Berlin in the late 1920's to enjoy the liberalism of Weimar Republic. He goes with various guys there but eventually met one called 'Heinz' and they fall in love, etc. But unfortunately they are torn apart once the Nazis come to power and Heinz is taken by the Gestapo but they met again in West Berlin after the war but it wasnt the same (Heinz had had a wife and children) and they lost all contact after Christopher published the book :(. It's great but really sad, particularly at the end :(.

Hmm, some Australian comedy-drama series - Offspring. I like most of the programmes aired on TLC, though. ;)

I'm adding Shameless to my list, that's one crazy show

I mean the US version that has just gone through first season, I'm aware it's a copy of the UK show, but I like the actors and acting much more in this version, weird, usually it would be the other way around...

1) Spartcus: Blood and Sand & Gods of the Arena
2) Game of Thrones
3) United States of Tara

*All three of these programs are not for the faint-hearted!! All Three contain nudity and sex, especially Spartacus~

For Spartacus, If you can look pass all the gore and violence (which isn't that horrible, you can easily see it's all fake) sex and nudity, the story in itself is of excellent quality! If you are looking for a program that will make you think and ponder upon crucial issues, then these three programs are for you! The content is more of an adult nature, so if you are not interested...then I suggest something a little more appropriate and easier to understand!!

Game of Thrones is still very New, only five episodes have aired so far, but if you love HBO, you will definitely love this one! It starts off pretty slow, so that we can all fall in love and get to know all the characters of the show!! But now that 5 episodes have already aired, you will have a treat watching them back to back!!! :D

United States of Tara is in it's third season now, so I'm sure a lot of you are not unfamiliar with the program!!! I just have to give praise the the absolutely amazing Toni Collette. I don't think I've ever met an actress who can play 5 characters at the same time, male, female, and child!!! It's unbelievable~!!!! She has multiple personality disorder, so it's really interesting to watch how her family gets along with her, and how they interact with all her personalities! If you've seen it, you'll know exactly what I mean~~~ ^____^

"Brideshead Revisited (2008)" I'm told is pretty good too! It's also a BBC production. I haven't seen it yet, hopefully I'll make time to watch it soon~

"The History Boys (2006)" Is one of my all-time favourite films! Don't know if you've seen these movies, but if you haven't, I 100% recommend them to you!!
History Boys doesn't have much eye-candy :D but it's one of those movies that make you think a lot! It's also pretty fun to watch as there are some really hilarious scenes, and emotional ones too!

As you (MyHeartIsYours) said, I wish the BBC could make more films like this too!!!

Oh, and if you're interested in classics...."Maurice (1987)" starring Hugh Grant is my favourite!! If you want the download link to this movie, I have it...just PM me~ ;) Or you can search for it on YT.
