I have a couple favourite tv-series, most of them are considered to be classics by now.

These three are probably my top 3 a the moment.

1. The Saint (1962-1969) with Roger Moore as the famous Simon Templar.
2. Remington Steele (1982-1987) with Pierce Brosnan.
3. Streets of San Fransisco (1972-1977) with a young Michael Douglas together with Karl Malden.

When reading the previous lists in here, I suddenly feel older than I am. xshifty

I am currently addicted to "The Tudors"~~~
I know I am Very late, since it began airing in 2007,
but boy am I happy I missed it, cos now I can watch all 4 season at once!!
I'm only at episode 2 of the first season so far, and I can't wait to watch how it unfolds~~
I can totally understand why Johnathan Rhys Meyers was nominated for an academy award now!!!

Am I the only one who likes "superficial" shows here?!

I enjoy watching:
Skins (the British ones, the American version is a disaster)
Jersey Shore
16 and Pregnant

I seriously do like watching these shows, for some odd reason.

The "better shows":
Outsourced
Being Human
Top Gear
The Amazing Race

I'm not too big of a Glee fan, I used to watch it but I got tired of it.

@Grinch: yes, it's produced by MTV . I watch it with my sister, she loves real drama . I feel sorry for those young babies :(. The show itself is not that horrible, it's realistic :)

@Adam: That's what I love about it!! It's pretty much true for teens here too, except we don't have the cool cockney accent . I'm pretty much like a mixture of Thomas and JJ, except nerdier

A new documentary series has started on BBC Three, 'Our War'. I watched it tonight and it was very upsetting tbh but also uplifting!

Last Saturday was the first episode of Channel 4's new series 'Camelot'. I really enjoyed it, cant wait for the next one tomorrow! :D
It's sort of a more sexual and violent version of 'Merlin', much more type of my thing haha .

I have a particular fondness for Kay, King Arthur's brother

^ First? It has been 10 episodes already :)

Does anyone watch Games of Thrones? It seems good but I haven't started yet.

I have seen five episodes so far of both GoT and Camelot, and trust me....Camelot doesn't even come close to how Brilliant GoT is~ and Camelot is one of the best shows thus far!!! ;)

There is everything for everyone. I'm a Fantasy Fanatic...so I look at how well the imaginative world is created and portrayed on screen, and I must say it is breathtaking! That's why I have to watch it in High Definition to fully endulge in the series!

There's action, gore, suspense, sex, full nudity (female and male...but more female though..unfortunately:lol:) but most important of all, there is heart in every word uttered from the actors! You may find a few episodes a bit slow and boring if you are an action fan, because all the characters do is have heart-felt conversations...but it's all necessary for us to get to know each and everyone of them in a more initimate level~

Don't take my word for it though...check the ratings and reviews out on imdb~ Scoring a 9.5/10 from nearly 17000 votes...that speaks for itself, and if that still doesn't have you hooked to watch the show, I don't know what will~

There's so many real-life dramas out there these days, sometimes it's just good to lose oneself and forget about the real world and watch something fantastical....
I'm gonna be so sad when the first season will end this coming sunday....which is tomorrow!!!

! ^ OMG...I totally forgot to mention the Intro!!!
It's the only show these days to even bother creating an Intro
and it's the only one I never skip through~~~
It's Amazing...and it actually changes as the series goes by, and the Theme is totally addictive!!!!

^ The openings of True Blood and Six Feet Under are also awesome. That's one of the reasons why HBO is my favorite channel :)

HBO is such an amazing channel, it has truly made everyone in America up their game when it comes to TV shows. And you can't beat US series for production quality (and money... of course xD). I agree on the theme for Six Feet Under, so distinctive and perfectly suited to the tone of the series.

Anyway, I seem to be veeeeery late compared to you guys when it comes to TV shows, but I must say I love watching them on DVD and I'm lucky to have plenty of them. Here's a non-exhaustive list of the shows I really enjoy watching (not all of them very recent I'm afraid xD). I might introduce you to some French, Canadian, Dutch and German shows I like.

Absolutely Fabulous: SHEER British awesomeness on all levels. This series is simply perfect, the dialogues are unbelievably funny. This is the kind of show Americans could never hope to reproduce, or nobody else on Earth for that matter. I must've seen each and every episode at least four or five times, and I'm already all wet in my pants 'cause they're coming back for three more episodes for Christmas 2011!

Le Coeur a ses raisons (The heart has its reasons): A parody of soaps à la "Bold and Beautiful" from Quebec. It is quite simply the most over-the-top show I have ever seen, it is *beyond* absurd and also hilarious. Here's the most famous scene, EN subtitled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nopXDS-BD1Q&feature=related

Gooische Vrouwen: It's like Dutch Desperate Housewives. I like it because their accent is so exquisitly posh, plus the stories are funny and the characters lovable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2ZS-bTAWmc&feature=related

Türkisch für Anfänger is a light-hearted, harmless comedy about a family half-German half-Turkish. I discovered it in its French-dubbed version on RTBF, and instantly liked it. It's not particularly amazing, but it's a nice little series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLLybshtMrM

A Flemish series I like is the short-lived Jes about a girl starting a new life in Brussels. It wasn't very good and got cancelled, but I liked the spirit of it and would wish the French-speaking broadcaster could make up something that really does honour to my beloved city (:D) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbGmCUea5vA

Also short-lived is the "French Sex and the City" called Clara Sheller. It was pretty great and well produced, showed Paris in a great light, and had good plots and characters. But European series tend not to find enough funding and/or talent to last like American ones I guess. Here's an excerpt, EN subs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVwhCIeU4nY

HBO world famous series Six Feet Under, Rome and Sex and the City, which I don't need to introduce :-D. In that category, I've just finished the seventh and last season of The West Wing, great series although the last two seasons were somewhat disappointing. Friends is also a personal favourite (grew up with it) and I enjoy watching Weeds, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty from time to time.

I'm also a big science-fiction fan, so I enjoy watching both the old and new versions of Battlestar Galactica. The old version really shows its age and has limited entertainment value, the new one is an absolute jewel, IMO the best SF series of the 2000's by far. I like Stargate Atlantis too (I'm not too fond of SG-1), the geek-favourite Babylon 5 and I'm of the "Niners" in Trekkie world, because by favourite Star Trek series is Deep Space Nine.

Children's shows I love are Pokémon (yeah, my generation!), Jem and the Holograms (not my generation at all) and Thunderbirds (WOW, I loved it when I was young, and still love it now!).

Okay I think I've talked enough for today! LOL!
