Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012: REHEARSALS (vote in the poll for your fave from DAY
Germany:
A simple and sober performance but I must say Roman's singing is really very very good and solid. It's simply convincing. Roman's appearance together with this song are very charming. Although there is not much backdrop used, I can see this please a lot of voters. I think on Eurovision finale night this will be a sultry, convincing performance, one that does not need to resort to blinding lightshows, impressive LED walls or cheap sex.
Sweden:
For me it's pretty clear now that Loreen has massive trouble singing the low range of both verses. She simply does not have the breath to sing them. This results in the inaudible mumbling that many have mentioned. But you know, this entry is being so much hyped that it will be this year's winner. I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate; not Iceland, not Italy, not Serbia, not even San Marino. Even if Loreen took a 3 minute nap on the stage, the fans will come out en masse and vote for this performance like crazy. To me the musical arrangements and the chosen electro sounds are still just average. From a musical point of point, this song sounds like so many other electrobeat songs. It is the choreography that stands out. Also the fact that it's made in Sweden helps a lot.
Slovenia:
I think Eva Boto and her background singers still look like bridesmaids preparing for a show to grace the wedding of a best friend. It all just doesn't do much for me. It's slightly too baroque, too oldish, too heavy. It would not surprise me this will turn out to be 'this years Nadine Beiler' (the Austrian entry last year, hyped to end high last year but ended at just 18th)(I really liked that entry BTW). I can't see the masses vote for Slovenia this year, it will most please those who have a tendency for classical music.
Georgia:
Well, I can see that the singer has now dressed up and beautified himself even more for the real show, with some tee shirt covered in shiny strass and glitter. Will it be enough to seduce the naive Eurovision viewer to vote for him? I don't know, maybe. The song is still annoying with lots of "I'm a joker, I'm a rocker" and "Ever, never!" in it. The song still doesn't enthuse me into writing more about it. In fact I want to forget about it as quick as possible.
