I am happy for all 10 qualifiers so congrats for making it. While there are a lot of songs I thought were "blah"..it's my opinion and doesn't mean it's what is right.

But I want to congratulate Portugal, Belgium, Greece, Serbia and Russia, I really like these songs and wish them the best of luck in the Finals.

Albania and Iceland are okay in my book and were quite obvious but they're obviously popular songs so I wish them the best of luck on Saturday.

I don't care for Moldova, Belarus and Bosnia but I'm very happy for the fans of those songs, good luck to you as well.

Eurovision is officially dead to me.

The juries find only interest in American Idol-ish ballads and to help some random unlycky so called "western country" while central European countries like Slovakia and Poland has no chance what so ever.

And wasn't the juries job suppose to stop diaspora voting (Bosnia hello!?!?)... Again the juries failed to prove that they bring this contest forward, instead they are turning this into just another American Idol copy.

They want to kill etno and national sounding songs which is sad since the Eurovision soul will get lost.

No chance now Czech Republic and Hungary comes back and Slovakia and Poland will drop out... this basically means almost whole central Europe OUT of the contest...

R.I.P. Eurovision Song Contest

Only hope is maybe Switzerland?! :(

I don't understand all the fuss about Slovakia song? She sanged awfully, the performance was a big disaster. Instead of asking who would vote in Portugal, I ask who would vote on that song? And what was that dresses? Sum: awful dresses, awful song, awful voice, I really understand why they didn't get through.

Oh and there's one more thing that's been bugging me - is Latvian song some sort of a joke?

I've been wondering the same about the Russian entry. I'd respect it a bit more if it was a parody of a traditional Russian love song, rather than it being simply... a bad 'traditional' Russian love song? :?

But I think the Latvian entry was serious. Her facial expressions were a bit OTT, but I was still surprised that it didn't get through.
Oh, I see your point on Russian song! However, I'm afraid that wasn't the idea and that the song simply sucks.
And her weird expressions is actually what made me think she might be making fun. If it was so I would like the song although the live performance wasn't the best.

Belarus song was indeed cheesy. I just imagine during all the song that they would fly very far away from there. And then the butterfly wings appear, and I thought what the hell is that?!
And the girls' faces were so utterly fake it made me sick.

Very very true! All so fake!! I think that I would even prefer to see the "nature worshiper" (Slovakia) in the final than the butterflies, imagine if, and so on clichês.
Agreed! I'd even prefer to see Finland in final, haha. At least they seemed to be genuenely enjoying it.

Yeah, but she was not the only one nor the worst, and there are much worse song and much worse performance which did qualify

No way could Moldova do anything (ex-Soviet) and Romania has the Balkans. Germany is a big country, not tiny, unknown, underrated Slovakia. :( That's why I think that's the only one that can have an impact. After this I seriously hope for Portugal because a win after so many failures could be what the contest needs.

I saw the show once again. Bosnia could be the big surprise in the finals! :) wierd...but something is "crazy" about that one!
Slovakia didnt deserve the finals after such a performance. Estonia was awful too. (imo) Serbia was lucky! Portugal was a positive shock.

what a funny post... criticizing the jury votes, although one doesn't even know who got which points from the jury ^.^

and btw:
somehow i had the feeling the camera-man already knew who would rush into the final, the camera-work made it somehow predictable who got the ticket. so it was clear to me iceland would get the last ticket instead of slovakia (but this was a fair decision! slovakia performed very weak!)

all in all i can say a very weak semi-final, stupid that no more than 7 countries can go home now.
however, Iceland was by far the best today and then comes Belgium then the other crap.

looking forward for the other semi... i hope safura or eva will sing like kristina today so there will be space for shalalalie-shalala in the final xD

Yes it's true. Russia and Belarus for me were even worse. I just don't say Iceland because I give the credits for the singing part which was very good (but I hate the song).

I'm really happy about Albania and Belgium! :D Congratulations to all qualifiers! =)

I knew that Slovakia was overrated in this forum, I've never seen it as a serious contender for top rankings but still it is a shame that they couldn't qualify, 'cause they were not that bad and there are worse entries that qualified =S

First semi-final was really boring imo as a show and in terms of songs, I'm really curios about the second one, it looks like that it will be better. I love the "green" room, it's one of the most simplistic green rooms I've seen in last 6 years.

This "you can vote anytime during the show!" (so we can gain money in case of you change the channel after 3 songs!) thing is really ridiculous, people can vote even before the first performance. That's just crap!

Russia... Not deserved. But we know mother Russia has very good neighbors that always will vote for them.
Belarus... Not deserved. It's belaRUS (in spanish bieloRUSIA), eastern block. Lol
Bosnia.... Not deserved too. Be part of balcans block it's a good way to be always in the Final. :?

I'm bored of the political voting...The most clear these year Russia :? . Hope to see them at the bottom in the Final.

The worst performances, Portugal (her voice omg I couldn't stand it, she screamed so bad  ) and Russia, qualified. Also, I thought Bosnia wasn't good today. I feel sorry for couple of countries that did not made including Malta, which for the first time since I heard the song I thought it worked very well and I was pretty sure that Thea qualified. Slovakia, Finland, Macedonia an Poland (we are the losers of Eurovision :?  )... :( xsorry

Wow, Slovakia not into the final, big shocker! (althought her performance was kind of weak and the camera work didn't help either). When they announced Portugal and Belarus as qualifiers I began to fear even more favourites wouldn't make it. I'm glad though that in the end all my personal favourites made it through. So congratulations to Greece, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, Iceland and our very own Tom Dice! xcheer Sad to see Poland, Finland and Estonia leave at this stage though.
