@Valvejoodik How do we get those cards? From the broadcaster TV by money? Most ppl don't bother themselves.

I believe the most convenient way is like Estonia has made: different purpose ID cards...

I've heard that UK started also giving out these cards but it was a failure because no one showed interest in these

In America, the idea like that would fail. We fear a lot of things here  We generally don't want "Big Brother" to know things  It's just us protecting our personal freedom.

If there weren't ID cards like that, would it still be possible to do the evotes?

There is one more way, i hope that Americans aren't afraid of using credit cards, are they?:twisted:

Something like this:
Voter chooses his favorite song and enters his credit card details. (or uses internet banking) This way he wouldn't want to spam votes because it would be too expensive.
Basically just like online shopping.

^Americans love spending money  as you can see, our government has a decent trillion dollar debt

That's a decent idea, they would just deduct money from your bank for your votes, like when they charge your telecom companies for your text votes.

BTW, how would Europeans react to this?

This thread should be like a time capsule, hopefully in 19 years time this thread will still be alive to look back on and compare notes haha.

Anyway, I predict by 2030 there will be 4 semi-finals due to the increasing amount of new countries and territories entering. I also reckon by that time people can vote online and interactively, rather than using the phone or SMS. I bet by this time the juries will have gone again and the voting alone will be based on what the viewer likes.

Russia will have won twice more, the next win being in 2017 so that the focus is on Russia for 2018. I'd like to think the UK has at least another two wins in there somewhere. I also predict that one of the smaller countries would have won by 2030, maybe San Marino or Andorra and the contest was held in one of their mother countries the following year.

I also predict that the Eurovision is more about promoting new acts to Europe, with record companies finally realising that it's a gold mine in terms of promoting new talent and thus getting quick popularity in other countries. Could be that by 2030, we see acts breaking into the US that had started out in Eurovision.

Anyways, just dreaming away there! Thought i'd share my thoughts though.

I wish ESC having a rule that the performer must be actually living in the country they represent, so it will be impossible for a person who lives for example in Spain to represent Russia, etc.

Also for 2030, if the 50-50 still alive, i hope to the juries are compound not only by people linked to the music, but by pepole who likes also other moderns musical styles independent of taste, cause even with juries also will generates disagreement and inconsistencies when they evaluating...¡¡¡

I think this would have happen by 2030:

Portugal, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland will all have won ESC for the first time.
Russia will win ESC two more times. Ukraine, France, UK, Sweden, Serbia, Denmark and Turkey will win one more time. The other winners is more uncertain.
Italy will jump back and forth in the contest, but will in the early 2020s start to compete every year.
Montenegro and Czech Republic will come back to the contest. Liechtenstein will debut in early 2010s and Kosovo will debut in late 2020s.
ESC will change the rules to allow pre-recorded backing singers and allowing 8 people on stage.
And Asiavision will have started by late 2010s! :)

And there I got one winner, 19 to go! xD
