Being a Eurovision fan is a fever that I don't always enjoy. This season is so terrible and the results will be so unfair that I am cancelling myself now. I want a new lease on this life without this ESCraze

I just learnt Germany is gonna vote in Semi 1. Doing my best to push Latvia through but now that Sweden, Finland, Norway, Czechia are in it too… phew. It will be hard but we can do it! I also want Malta qualifying!

Semi 1 is shaping up to be another bloodbath semi, imo.
So far I´d like these countries to qualify:
1 :hr:
2 :lv:
3 :mt:
4
5 :cz:
6 :fi:
7 :se:
And we still haven´t heard :pt: :az: :rs: :il: and :rs: & :nl: could also be contenders, for sure.

Seems a lot of members here gravitated towards the Semi 1 being the bloodbath of favorites, or considering it the stronger semifinal. I wouldn't write off the chances of Semi 2 catching up in difficulty.

  • 🇦🇲 will be sending Brunette, and her current catalog of released songs shows a lot of potential of the entry being a good song.
  • 🇸🇮 sends one of their bigger acts, Joker Out, with one competent song. The vocalist is exuding confidence as well.
  • 🇦🇺 has Voyager in their hands. Promise might not be as strong as their NF effort, but it still packs a punch for a good live experience.
  • We haven't heard the revised version of 🇦🇱 's Duje, but the NF version is great.
  • I won't write off 🇧🇪 yet. Because of You is a pretty solid house song, you can get people's attention with it.
  • With 🇦🇹 it's still a bit of a mixed chances since I don't know what to expect. However, both of them has different yet interesting vocal color and both were competitive singers, hence I'm expecting something vocal-heavy.
  • Also, 🇬🇪 send Iru, who co-wrote last year's JESC entry "I Believe" and that is A SONG. With the news of her entry being produced by their JESC composers, I'm expecting something as good and high-quality to be her entry.

It's always the situation where we get one semi that is considered the blood bath and the other one that is random and open as F that you can't really predict who can get into the finals.

Anyway, it's interesting that this year we have three 2020 selected artists who got their 2020 participation through national finals came back to compete in this year's NF and all 3 lost. Alicja from Poland, Ulrikke from Norway and Damir from Croatia. Them joining Aksel from Finland and The Mamas from Sweden. I always have a soft spot for the 2020 artists who didn't get a chance to perform on the ESC stage. Hoping they will get their chance eventually.

It's just that Semi 1 has the big favourites: Finland, Norway, Czech Republic... Sweden could join the club with Loreen. If you take them you will have the same level on both semis.

I know there are big [fan] favorites on semi-final 1, hence people underrating semi-final 2 is not a new thing. However, I don't like when people are talking about semi-final two as if they're land and sky in quality, when we're still getting a little more than half of the entries.

Since the new system is a televote-only semi with jury-tele combination, I can't tell whether fans were considering jury factor to determine favorites. I'm concerned whether some song like Czechia's or Finland's are going to be underrated by juries, or Sweden, Netherlands, and Switzerland are getting cookie points again.

No one is waiting for me here, but I'm glad I'm back on my favorite forum again: This means that I am still alive, having been in a warring country for 12 months, and despite the pain and disappointment from the last Eurovision Song Contest, I can see a lot of good or almost good songs in the new season.

Well we're certainly glad to have you back - alive and well! I hope my country can do yours proud in May.

Honestly I'm surprised they're not more expensive! I'm thinking of going for rehearsal tickets so it's even less ££. My biggest fear is actually being able to get the tickets... They release while I'm at work. Let's hope my boss doesn't mind me queueing for tickets on company time.
