Most of the artists this year are credited in the songwriting of their entries + most entries are composed/produced locally. What a difference to just a few years ago

Kudos to Victor for being the sole author of his entry, at just 16 years old

So Greece, Armenia and Croatia are the only ones entirely self-made by the artists, but the number of people behind Poland's Solo is bigger than her vocal range and likes on SM. 🤣

The EBU: "We want to protect the artists by not opening the rehearsals to the press. You know, mental health is important."
Also the EBU: "Yo bitches, let's drag all the acts who did not make it to the final in front of the camera. Let the people see their disappointment. With a bit of luck there might even be tears."

I would say the public prefer the up-tempo songs that's in-your-face, and the juries prefer the ballads. I think it's a good balance.

Me personally, I find myself agreeing more with the jury results than the public results most years, :giggle:

I have cut the eurovision live blog a lot of slack but "never let it be said that we don't pay attention to the details (apart from Andrew Lambrou's feet)" has made me feel physically ill

agree specially those who will NQ if it's televote only, my 2021 eurovision moment would be broken without hooverphonic in GF and I'm glad Albania NQ in 2022 (it's a personal issue) the overhype is unbearable.

I think it’s fair the way it is now. If people vote for a ballad then it’s really a good ballad. If a ballad Qs there must be a certain quality. Juries will definitely vote for them in the final so there is a bit of balance because these ballads would get lost as the audience often prefers uptempo songs, as stated above.

Also, with the new voting and the ROW, the public has slightly more influence than the juries (they wrote 50.x public - juries 49.x percent) which is also fair because millions of people versus circa 200 jurors have always been a bit unfair.

I often don’t agree with both top 5 due to having a sometimes unusual taste what Eurovision songs is concerned, but in the end, my taste was always a bit more en par with the public [except for last year] so I really appreciate the new voting.

Ordinarily id agree but the results of semi 1 last year showed us the public wont necessarily ignore introspective and slower songs over faster in your face numbers
