It's so interesting to see Loreen a very much well-loved winner (before the ESC fandom meltdown) has now become a target board for hatred by the very same ESC community.

This just perfectly showcases the ESC fandom is TOXIC, PETTY and IMMATURE. They can just easily turn their back on you when the situation doesn't go their way. Hate the rules, don't hate the players.

And this year's theme "United By Music" seems like a big irony. It's more like "United By Pettiness".

I just did some short research, obviously this has already been an issue in March, I haven’t heard or read about it back then.

This is actually very scandalous.

Especially from a certain member of the ESCunited team who had on site press accreditation who on twitter called last night a scandal and a "disgrace", was Jamala winning being second in the jury and televote a disgrace? was Duncan winning being third in the jury and second in the televote a scandal?

People have been completely blinded by their bias and I say that as someone with Finland 3rd and Sweden 17th in my personal ranking, I am genuinely very surprised by Finland being fourth with the juries given his poor vocals in the second half of the song

Tattoo is a legitimate winner end of story

It's bullshit and happens so often in music. There are millions and billions of songs, so it's mathematically impossible to don't have a match. Let alone that people sometimes hear a song maybe 15 years ago and keep that in their unconsciousness and then by accident use it.

Well I want to make it clear that every other single member of the ESCunited team is very professional and does a fantastic job representing this website and giving us news and great interviews without letting their personal bias get in the way of their reporting but to call Loreens victory a disgrace as a member of the accredited on site press is just juvenile and gives a bad name to fan media

BBC did a great job - the stage was amazing, the graphics were absolutely beautiful and creative, the postcards idea was awesome, Hannah Waddingham AND Catherine Tate - we really won. It was slick and smooth, mostly fun. Songs were so-so, mostly bad. Results were great, except Estonia and Australia which imo were extremely overrated by juries, and UK, Spain and France being robbed by everyone. Glad for Loreen, it was a fine entry, support for Finland was amazing as well. Overall good edition.

"Never return to the place where you were once happy".

This applies to a number of things in life and I guess it fits like a glove here.

Yeah, she won. But instead of repeating the laurels of the past, she did her walk of victory while the crowd chanted the name of someone else. People are angry. It's a winner that feels like a travesty.

Not what she was expecting, I believe.
I would've sticked with being Eurofans favorite winner ever instead of this.
I'm currently away from arguments and/or dramas. I'm not revealing I'm happy (or not) with this outcome. But...

I don't think she gives a crap about thoughts like this one, really. Based on what we could see, winning was all she wanted. She will survive the fact not winning the televote or for not being adored like she was a decade ago. She has still got millions of supporters, no one can argue that; 11 years is a lot of time, things changed in the meanwhile, that is only normal, millions of voters who supported their faves yesterday weren't even voters back then. Still, she managed to be one of their faves and it doesn't matter how much drama people make, she's the only winner here, full stop. She keeps being happy where she's been before, in a different way, of course, but still loved by millions and holdiing a trophy. Others have tried this and failed, some didn't even qualify from the semis. Evertything else just doesn't matter IMO. Rules are pretty clear, and millions of televoters also helped for this outcome to become true, millions who love her, juries alone wouldn't have been enough.
As for haters, it's just a waste of time.
This being said: congratulations :se:!

??? I've honestly lost track of which side is pro-Israel, and which is pro-Palestine these days? Are Hatari far right?
I don’t watch TVP so I don’t know. I can just sense drama in 1… 2… 3…

Vocals, song quality and structure, staging, lyrics.

I can agree with the vocals, and I'm content with the staging, but absolutely not about the other ones.

The song structure was very Melfest B-sides-y. It's your standard pop V-Pc-C-V-Pc-C-B-C in principle. The bridge wasn't even developed as a lyrically unique section, which just adds to the rushed process of making the song. The probably added that exotic violin part to connect it to Loreen, but even that was brought with a weirdly abrupt transition.

Lyrics-wise, it's also quite B-side and underdeveloped. It's using the word "Tattoo" as a gimmick about an unrequited love song yet didn't specify anything metaphorically about a tattoo in the verses or the prechorus. Like, I expected something about "attached on my skin so dearly" or "it's like the Gods were marking you onto me". The sections seemed like it was written by different people, too, but with less cohesion than, to say some, Kaarija's or TE&SAL's.

Pardon me, but if we're going no-filter about song quality, Tattoo just sounded like a glorified pre-pitch demo.

YES! We absolutely love Hannah Waddingham. I remember being a little doubtful about her hosting but she proved me she CAN!
