Actually I´m quite satisfied with the current system, I wouldn´t need a change. xshrug

This.

It's the best comprise we've encountered yet.
The should enlarge the juries and give detailed criteria and rules how broadcaster come up with jury members & how to vote, though. And that utterly ridiculous and pathetic and dumb San Marinese televoting needs to go ASAP (it ridicules the actual results and shits on it) but apart from that, the current system is the best version of a "fair" voting procedure.

I don't get what the new system being mentioned is even meant to be? They want to make it whether countries can choose to have a jury or televote or what? :? :?

I prefer the system we used before this year, it worked fine and didn't cheat countries like Norway out of their televote win moment or San Marino of making the top 10 in the televoting. It seems to me that it was brought in purely to disguise the fact the juries crushed some massive televote faves. Also lets be honest, it was blatantly honest Sweden wasn't about to win, 5 countries already had over 200 points.

They even proposed to the EBU a televoting system for San Marino whereby they'd use a group of ordinary people of different demographics in order to make as close of representation to the views of San Marino as possible, but it got shut down and instead their televote score is hashed up using other countries.

60% televoting seems way more adapted to what they all want. juries already screwed up il volo in 2015 and sergey in 2016.
we could have prevented ourselves from having to witness mans' cringe attempts to be featured in every edition of ESC every single year.

a good thing and a relief that the :uk: reverted back to an internal selection, this will at least give us some break from seeing him.

60% televoting wouldn't have made Il Volo happen either.

I hate "Heroes" as a winning entry and it's not even close to my Top 15 that year but it became a huge (radio) hit throughout Europe... thus, it served its purpose (promoting Eurovision).

It is still not known clear about what kind of change was going to be made, and I think it would be clearer in january. I don't really hope for a bigger change than combining back the result or change the composition of the vote. The changes MIGHT probably be easy in theory, but it'd probably be trickier to present it to the public.

They've played the song on heavy rotation here in Germany. For months, I've heard it every day.
It also got played in Scandinavia, Austria, Poland (when I went there for trips).

I want new system to be finally fair and to stop pushing one country in particular to desperately win it (bjorkmanland). And I want new supervisor to be someone who doesn't come from Scandinavia, someone neutral. And I want eurovision to be without mans, carola, homophobes, scandals, ppl trying to be relevant and I want esc where countries send their best, not just any crap. Maybe it would be good if esc helds place every 2 years. So for example if 2020 is in ned, next esc would be 2022. I also want betting odds not to have influence , overrated countries to be balanced with others.

I want esc where they would play real instruments, not just pretending to play it. I want developed countries who are biggest finance sponsors of esc who always finish in the bottom to finally withdraw or countries who always do poorly withdraw so something changes drastically in esc. I want new "exotic" countries to join in. It doesn't have to be Kenya, but Morocco, Luxembourg.. Come back

Wow!! How am I supposed to answer in a polite way??

You basically say something like this to some countries: "Well, your results in the last years were not good enough, so you lost any right to participate. Please leave and never come back!!"

Sorry, but this is really the biggest and most arrogant nonsense I´ve read so far in the forum!! X-OI

From all what i said u picked that one? OK lol, please elaborate. Gib mir deine argumente. If I was in their shoes, I would definitely do that. They spend so much money on esc participation (money that their citizens have to pay). And they don't prepare good, they don't send quality songs, they finish in the bottom almost every year and it repeats over and over. They know smth has to change, but they do nothing.

Absolutely, I even remember for Frans after the 2016 edition of the contest. Amir got so popular that radio even played a Eurovision song. It was played on NRJ, as well as "Should've gone home (Je ne suis qu'un Homme)" from Mans Zelmerlow that was the most played song on french radios in july 2016. I remember that I was like "am I dreaming ?". By the way, I still can't believe how well "Soldi" was played on NRJ all summer and how well he is currently doing in streaming in France since italian singers rarely get popular in France.

So YOU decide which songs are "good" and "quality"?? If countries decide to withdraw for some time they should do this based on their decisions and not because you deny them the right to compete in the competition.

Actually, there was a short period, where countries who did poorly over some years had to pause a year (the time where there was only one semi) - it didn't change the quality of the entries really. So this idea was dropped after a few years....

Yeah, if I remember correctly this was the case until the introduction of the semis in 2004. I personally think that every country in Europe should have the right to compete, even if their results are bad they can still pick the "perfect" song some day, like :pt: 2017.

I'm not having a discussion with someone who is born after photoshop was invented or someone who doesn't have contra arguments. I don't know are u messing with me, are u kidding or u really didn't understand what my point is even though I explained it in details or u are just pretending that u didn't understand, I don't care. Sorry kiddo, but there are other users here. Maybe u will get along with them.

Well, before I´ll ignore you completely let me tell you something. There is a saying in German which goes this way: Wie man es in den Wald ruft so schallt es zurück.

That means that if you say something offensive you shouldn´t be surprised that the answer won´t be friendly. ;)

So Bye!!
