From escxtra.com

Now that the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 has come to an end, escXtra.com decided it was time to have a look at next year. Who will be there in Austria? We contacted all broadcasters and can now bring you the first part of the responses.

First of all, the winner of the first contest will be there for the 60th anniversary. Switzerland’s broadcaster SRF told us they’d definitely be going to Austria next year.

Secondly, the United Kingdom has more or less confirmed participation. In an e-mail to us they stated:We want to restore our winning ways!!

A number of other countries has also confirmed participation, being hosts Austria and both Finland and Sweden, who have announced to keep UMK and Melodifestivalen as their selection procedures. Also Armenia and Ireland have confirmed participation.

Andorran broadcaster RTVA has said they will not go to Austria. Furthermore, we can also tell you that, even though it’s not surprising, Czech Republic will most likely not return to the contest. Kamila Kaislerova told us:It is unlikely to return to the Eurovision Song Contest due bad interest of viewers.

Interestingly, three countries who were not in Copenhagen have not yet taken a decision on 2015. First of all, that’s Cyprus, who are rumoured to be making a comeback, but have not decided. Secondly, also Bosnia-Herzegovina has not made the decision yet. Interestingly, also Monaco has not given a final decision on Eurovision 2015 after being in Eurovision for the last time back in 2006.

escXtra.com will be keeping you updated on the responses we receive from broadcasters regarding the Eurovision Song Contest 2015!

I'd be sad for Israel, they've always been a part of Europe somehow....

I think 2015 there will be more than 40 countries in the competition since it is the 60th anniversary and since Europe is thrilled to see a country like Austria taking the win and receiving the honour of hosting.

My prediction for a comeback:
+ Croatia
+ Bosnia and Herzegovina
+ Serbia
+ Cyprus
+ Bulgaria
+ Slovakia

Since the Balkan countries have a big diaspora especially in Vienna with hundreds of thousands of residents, I think they don't wanna miss the chance of extra cheering from the crowds.....

Maybe?
+ Czech Republic
+ Liechtenstein
+ Kazakhstan
(but I don't believe that will happen, but I think we need a debut county for the big anniversary!)

Withdrawals:
- Georgia (maybe forced to withdraw)
- Israel

I think we will have a healthy number of participants around 41-43....

Of course, there could be one or two withdrawals out of the blue like Poland or Greece due to financial reasons or lack of interest. Also feuding Ukraine and Russia might stay out.

Poland due to financial reasons? xrofl3 Sorry, but no. More likely due to "lack of interest".

But isn't Poland incredibly poor, so that they have to sell their boobs?

What's wrong with you? Maybe you just hate Poland? If you don't get the irony and take the song and the performance so seriously, it's your problem, but I will NOT let you offend my country.

Really? xshock
Maybe Valentina's success inspired them? It would be very interesting to see them back!

Well using this, I will make a prediction on returns.

Almost 100% return
:bg: - Bulgaria
:ba: - Bosnia & Herzegovina
:rs: - Serbia
:cy: - Cyprus
:hr: - Croatia

Looking like they might return
:mc: - Monaco
:sk: - Slovakia

Looking like they wont return/wont return
:ad: - Andorra
:tr: - Turkey
:cz: - Czech Republic

Withdrawing
:il: - Israel
:ge: - Georgia

Seems about right, except for Bosnia & Herzegovina. They're broadcaster's situation seems to be very bad, so it might be hard for them to get the funds. I'd say Slovakia is very very likely, and maybe even Czech Republic. At least I have that hope.
And about Georgia, I guess if they'll be disqualified it'll be announced in the next few weeks/months. They wouldn't only announce it in December I think.

I didn't realise the situation in full in Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia until after I had wrote this. So I would move them all down, especially Bosnia & Herzegovina. Apparently the Czech broadcaster have said it's unlikely they will return because of very interest. (which is a poor excuse really, as Poland had that issue and they returned).

Everyone must be friend with each other, but are they friends, Poland & Czech Republic?

They have some problems with us. We like them, they don't like us. The truth is that only Hungarians are our friends.

the floods can really effect serbian and bosnian chances of return, i guess.. not only financially, but also ethically
1) many people already see sending delegations to eurovision as a waste of taxpayers money, imagine doing that not even a year from a catastrophe like this... or more or less exactly one year, which brings me to:
2) having the anniversary memorials and participating at the fun, cheerful eurovision at the same time? i don't know...
