¿¿Will the Azzurra make the Mannschaft cry again like in 2012, 2006 and others times in the past at Euro 2016??

As I wrote in the Chatbox earlier today....Germany has NEVER beaten Italy in a championship game...

Anyway, amazing night, So so happy for Iceland, can't wait till sunday when they will freeze La Cock (The rooster I mean of course, silly people...)

Moving through Germany
There are plenty of series that still continue on both sides. Germany also reached every semifinal with Jogi Löw on the side (even in the two tournaments he was the assistant). And we also never lost a penalty shootout. I think we'll do it this time. The curse will end.

Don't think Germany will win the title though. It's either France or Belgium or the underdogs from Wales and Iceland playing the most epic final against each other xheat

I think that :de: has chance to win the title if they beat :it: & :fr:!! Unless that :is: gets inspired ala. :gr: 2004 or :it: continue the curse on saturday, the road it's almost clear that the Mannschaft will reach the final at least! :)

Congratulations :is:
It's great to see this small country do so well.

If only Austria could have been more like Iceland...

If Germany doesn't win (they better stop this nonsense of losing against Italy every chance they get) Iceland would be my preferred winner.

Well done :is: :D I believed that they have a chance but still............before the match I wouldn't bet on their victory no matter how much optimistic I was :D

What a fiasco for :en: . They have a good national team, and yet they always fail miserably on huge championships. Iceland held them a football lesson and also a lesson of motivation and desire to fight for the homeland. This is something that these huge stars are lacking.

I have to say Iam also glad that :es: is eliminated. I used to adore this team before but now I can't even look at them. I saw this coming anyway........when nothing changed after the debacle in 2014, it was obvious this will happen. And :it: is better by all parameters atm. It will be tough in the quarter final and I am actually scared for :de: now.

So here are my predictions for the Quarter-Finals.

Poland 1-2 Portugal : Poland are a better team, but Portugal have a way of grinding out results without ever actually playing well. Also, Renato Sanches in an incredible player. What a purchase by Bayern.

Wales 0-2 Belgium : Wales beat them in qualifying, but this is a different beast. Wales will likely compete for long stretches, but Hazard will eventually open them up.

Germany 1-0 Italy : My 2 favourite teams in the tournament. I've supported Germany since I was a kid, but I want to see Italy win the tournament because they've been the best team and I'm in love with Buffon. But I think Germany will sneak it. Very hard to call though.

France 3-0 Iceland : I predicted Iceland VS England would be close, but this is a vastly superior French team, and I think they'll put Iceland to the sword.

Germany vs Italy is a little final for me.. Who wins this battle gets to the final. And there is Poland of course.

I find it funny and sad at the same time that reporters and random people always say that Iceland will lose. They said it before the qualification started, they said it in the group stage, they said it before the England match. Now they say they're gonna lose to France. I think that some people's mentality is very poor. Even if Iceland beats Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Italy, they're still going to be considered underdogs by some people, just because they didn't have major successes in the past :?

To be hoenst, I think some people thinks that Iceland national team is still consisting of bakers, plumbers, builders and so on. At least I read some comments from people here thinking that this is a bunch of amateurs on the pitch

English media annoys me big times. I read things like "biggest shame of England history" and stupid comments like the twitter comment of Gary Lineker. I find it disrespectful. Certainly England national team was the favorite and losing this match is a disappointment and Roy Hodgson retiring is probably the right consequence. However, losing a match in a Round of 16 can't be a shame. It's a thing that happens if your team isn't focussed 100%, has bad mentality, wrong tactics or whatever.

I only read it from some people so it might be wrong but I heard that also before the match English broadcasters talked about Iceland like it was San Marino and expected an easy win and so on... well, here you go

However, I gotta tell you that saying Iceland's gonna lose to France doesn't make you a person with poor mentality. Only those people who comes up with predictions like 3-0 and 4-0 make me facepalm. Probably France will win but they are warned. If they don't give their best they won't defeat Strákarnir okkar.

France struggled against a 10-man Ireland. They might win, but it's gonna be difficult.

I really hope we can make it. There is so much pressure and many people want us to win. I hope our boys don't fuck this up.

Been really bust lately, so I haven't had time for forums, but I just want to say this:

ÁFRAM ÍSLAND!!!!

No matter what happens against France, what Iceland has done in this Euro is incredible. Actually, just getting to the Euro was incredible, going thru the group stage undefeated, and qualifying for the last 16 was... I dunno, it's off the charts. Even tho I did actually predict them to get there, but I didn't actually think it was going to happen. And then they beat England. I'm usually an England fan, and had predicted an England win, but I was 100% cheering for Iceland in that match. I wasn't shocked that Iceland came back after that early penalty tho, but I didn't expect them to answer so fast, and I certainly didn't expect them to go in the lead. But I'm really happy they did. :D Anything can happen in the match against France, they can definitely win, but France will (just like England) be massive favorites, and even if France wins 6-0, Iceland can be very proud of what they've achieved. And their commentator is pretty epic too, whenever I feel sad or depressed or whatever, I will listen to his commentary from the Austria match, it ALWAYS makes me smile. Guðmundur Benediktsson, never stop doing what you do.

:is:

As for the other matches, I don't really care that much, my predictions have gone down the drain, but I hope for some good matches. Kinda hoping for Portugal today, because despite how much of a d*ck Ronaldo is, I'm still a huge fan after his days at Manchester United. But now that Zlatan has finally announced that he's joining United, I might forget about Ronaldo soon. ;) And Poland gave me some nice points in the prediction game at work (as most of the rest there had Switzerland as winner in that match), so as a thank you for that, I won't really be sad if Poland wins either. :)
