Russia have to be kicked out of the tournament NOW! They have been looking for more fights at Lille today with the English fans and now Welsh fans, with a few Irish and surprisingly Scots there too. Home nations stick together.

We are very lucky to have that at home. We already have endless strikes, islamist attacks, terrible weather, now hooligans, yepee...

Even though I'm absolutely against any kind of hooliganism, I really have no idea why are always the teams and organizations punished when they have nothing to do with it. It's simply unfair. The only ones that should be punished here are the organizers/French police/whoever was responsible to keep things on spot and the hooligans themselves. What the hell do the teams have to do with that?

I have also read that Croatian football organization will most probably get a fine because one Croatian fan has got into pitch when Modrić scored to hug him. Sorry but I really don't see how is the organization responsible for that and why should they pay the fine if they get it. Someone should have stopped him.

If I didn't miss something. :?

Obviously, it's our fault... xfacepalm

The main problem is that Russian Football Association finds it very funny. And they let people preparing all year long with war-alike methods to be an organized group and to identify as football supporters... So obviously, Russian football team as nothing to do here if it sends abroad people who only came to riot...
And same goes for all the teams (mainly Balkan ones) that allow that.

Awh even though I love Ronaldo I had a fiver on Iceland winning - nearly won thirty quid! Never mind though, still proud of Iceland what a great game! :D I guess a draw is a good outcome for two teams I'm supporting :p

Home nations united! Don't tell QwaarJet ;)

Contrary to QJ anti-English post the other day, I've heard so much about the "British" teams, a lot of buzz about Thursday's match and not necessarily in a confrontational manner - English and Welsh teams and supporters all looking forward to it because it's a "British" match, and people in each of the home nations + Ireland all supporting each other in their respective matches. There's been a lot of support for England especially after what we faced at the hands of the Russian mob.

:en: ::ulst :wale: :ie: all have my full backing! Tbh I wouldn't even mind who won on Thursday but seeing as England need a win and Wales can do without one, I'm hoping for an English win tactically.

Yeah the whole of England and Wales are definitely looking forward to the match on Thursday, it'd almost be like a Premier League football match. Some of my relatives are Welsh so I don't mind who wins but I'd prefer England more of course.

About tuesday's matches, I'm glad :hu: edged out :at: after all as I was hoping for. I hope they get through with us. And as I'm not a sore Portuguese like Ronaldo I would not mind :is: on 3rd either, just happen to like :hu: team better. The match between these two should now be the main point of interest in the group for round 2.

About our tie...heh, we didn't play that badly. Ball possession and chances obviously on our side, we just didn't have the luck that :fr: had yesterday, that's all. Ronaldo was a nulity and should have kept it shut. If he wasn't the hype he's always been he would be benched now on the 2nd match. Santos won't just do it because of the pressure from supporters and all of the extra football interests that dictate that it's always on everyone's best intere$t to have him on the field. I would have no problems at all to bench him ;) (hell, probably he wouldn't even be in the 23)
Anyway, there were players performing worse than him out there tuesday night. Iceland can thank Vierinha for their goal. Should have marked the goal scorer but was another nulity on defense. How come he was considered the best full-back this season in Bundesliga? So many better players. I hope Cédric is in the starting 11 for the next match as he should have been during last match.
And I know it's rather impossible but I would rather have Bruno Alves or Fonte in Pepe's place. He's at the same place as Ronaldo when it comes to mindset, the difference being that he's a psycho and Ronaldo is simply a twat. Did anyone notice how Pepe quickly lost his cool in that one play vs. an Icelandic player? Good thing he didn't go full berzerk or that Icelandic player would have had the same fate as that Getafe player some years ago.
Midfield was were most of the problems were located. Moutinho being a start-up after his sham of a season in Monaco while having Adrien benched after the fantastic season he pulled out...is beyond my understanding. João Mário was a total disappointment, rather sure he has his mind on the transfer market. Having your father as your agent and demanding raises while crying of unfair compensation against the team that gave all to Mário to be the player he is nowadays doesn't help. Also I'd rather see William on Danilo's place. William has no evil in him while Danilo is Pepe 2.0 waiting to explode at any second.
I hope Quaresma is fit for next match now that he's finally (past age 30) found his his maturity and is on good form. On the other hand I rather would not see Éder entering the field again. Worst striker at this Euro for sure.
Regarding the :is: fans, I was well impressed too. I thought we would dominate on the stands at least but wow, was I wrong. Could be that diaspora fans are rather akward when it comes to the way of supporting the team. Could also be the fact that in the specific city where the match occurred is not the same thing as it'd be in Paris. But merit to the Iceland supporters anyway - even I felt intimidated at times by their support.

About yesterday's matches...Slovakia finally showed what they had not against Wales. Hamsík goal is now in top 3 for certain. Russia are beyond schadenfreude at this point, watching them play makes me cringe. I want them to do better but they simply have no solutions. Very apathic defensive line apart from the captain. You can easily notice that by rewatching Hamsík's goal...it's like they were sleeping during the corner. Dzyuba is also not the striker they need, they are really missing a reference up front these days. There may still be a chance at qualifying though. But they will have to give what they have not so far against :wale:

My beloved :ro: continue to exhibit very interesting football and it was a shame that they drawed again yesterday (this time legally at least). Had that Sapunaru against the post chance gone in...the Swiss would have never pulled back. I liked what I saw from Chipciu and Keseru yesterday. Better alternatives. :ch: has been underwhelming so far but they will probably make it while drawing with already qualified French neighbours. Romania really has to win last match but given Albania's heroic performance yesterday...it won't be as easy as it may have seemed at first.

Finally about :fr: then...luck is obviously on their side after 2 undeserved wins. Albania, despite the crappy tricks they pulled out on Serbia during qualifying they did not deserve to lose yesterday, any football fan can easily come to that conclusion. I can understand feeling happy for the hosts going through but if I were French myself I would be disappointed and worried with the national team so far. That is clearly still not the football worthyness of a title candidate (although there's always the odd chance of pulling a Greece...or an Italy, if you may ;))
I think that the only player who really deserves on that team is Payet for the form he's been showing so far. Other than that...
Besides scoring illegal goals, I wish I did not have to see Giroud's face so soon again. So mediocre yet so cocky. What a tool. Ronaldo - Giroud - Arnautovic (the loser version of Ibrahimovic) would be the perfect attacking trio for a national team of sore losers (with Kane and Éder on the bench )

Predictions for today:

:en: - :wale: 1-1
:ua: - Ulster 2-0
:de: - :pl: 3-0

Side note, can people stop referring to Northern Ireland as Ulster? They're objectively different things

Hopeless by Wales in the second half. Small team mentality. England deserved winners.
