:hr: - :sm: 10:0. That was really hard. Our corrupted association has found a great opponent. I suppose it's nice to see that they're motivated, though.

On the bright side, the record for the biggest win of :hr: has been broken. Previous record has been accomplished on friendly match just before WC 1998 where :hr: won 3rd place. #sign

I'm very excited about Euro. xheya Too bad that the next few weeks will be one of those most busiest weeks in a whole year for me so I won't really be able to follow it too much. :(

I'm startin' to get excited about the Euro's now. England have a strong team but we always seem to disappoint in competitions so I'm not going to get my hopes up. Nevertheless,

Come on England! :en:

Best football song ever imo.

Yesterday :is: played their last test match before the EURO against :li: and beat them 4-0

Matches against teams like Liechtenstein are hardly judgeable cause the difference of quality is very huge and teams in the Euro will be more resistent. However, despite the result looks fine I'm not impressed by Iceland's performance. Especially in the first half Liechtenstein could keep this match relatively balanced and they even had two chances. Obviously Iceland had more possession and their attacks were much more forceful. They were clinical and didn't need many goal chances for scoring. Kolbeinn gave them the lead with a tap-in. The second goal by Birkir Már was the highlight and one of the most beautiful goals I've seen recently. I use to be a critic of him but that was pretty amazing. The 3-0 short before the half-time was another tap-in by Alfred Finnbogason, after the Liechtenstein keeper and defenders could save the goal like 25 times in that scene
I thought Liechtenstein deserved a better result like 0-3 cause they were decent

Actually I liked the second half of Iceland better although they only scored once simply because they dominated and controlled the match in a way it's supposed to be. They tried to create chances by short pass combos through the middle and I like this idea cause against Liechtenstein it looks ridicolous if you play long balls. The harmony wasn't so well and you could see that the players are not used to play "beautiful" football. One player passes the ball to the left but the player who should receive it is already on the way to the right. Such things. But once they managed to break the Liechtenstein wall and scored the 4th goal and it was even very well-played! :D

All the goals:

After the match the players and fans cheered for Lars Lagerbäck cause it was his last home match as Iceland coach. He got some presents and he was honoured in a way he deserves :D Now please win the Euro

Supporting Germany as usual, and excepting a French victory. Can't wait!

All those Icelandic goals were entertaining to watch. Although I feel bad for :li: on 1st and 3rd goals, some epic cuts there before the ball went in. 2nd goal was simply wow. Last one looked like something I might had seen out of any given Barcelona match. If I understood correctly Peter Jehle was the keeper during the first 45 minutes? Some nice saves there. I remember when he played for Boavista nearly a decade ago, he wasn't bad at all. Maybe FC Vaduz wasn't demoted this season in part thanks to him :)

About Lagerbäck, he already started with the mind games against us and although I agree with his words in part (of our "stars" being theatrical) I just am not sure whether it will have any effect on our team. In case it does, bravo, we do tremble against "smaller nations" and probably he had this in mind. In case it does nothing to the final score then he will end up looking bad.

As for the pessimistic Romanian who wrote above...Switzerland have been more impressive a few years ago than what they are now. For instance, I recall WC 2014 and after a pretty good display in first match they where trashed by the French...which in turn still conceded a draw to Equador in group stage. Switzerland went through alright but then had one of the most boring matches of that WC with Argentine, game being decided on extra time and all. Switzerland has a few individualities that can make the difference but teamwise I feel like something is lacking and perhaps Romania can be stronger as a unit, individualities aside. France, despite being hosts and all are known for their slip ups as well...and we all know they are missing key players and there have been some controversies probably affecting the morale of the group. The Benzema case even went nearly political...this can affect the moral of a group easily. I'd like to see :ro: as the underdog of this Euro. Might be hard but it's always about 90 minutes, 11 a side and a ball. Anything can happen :)

Tonight we have last prep match against a nation which I quite respect, :ee: Eesti, but if we won  that easily...perhaps :ee: could be even easier at our farewell match. I expect Estonia to fight bravely anyway and more than some trashing as some predict I'd rather see a well played even match.

Fortunately, there are no juries in football.

There's the referee though, which has pretty much the same function that the juries have in ESC.

Btw, there's no televoting either, so this means that Poland can't be overrated by the diaspora like it happened at ESC this year.

And you won't watch Euro because girls don't play

I follow football in a different way: I usually don't have a favourite team in general, but I follow the single matches and in each one of them I cheer for the country that I like at ESC the most xD

Btw, female football also exists, and I follow that too ;)

Predictions for the first match tonight:

:fr: 2:1 :ro:

I will be rooting for :ro: all the way, but objectively France has much more quality and I expect a secure victory. It is a first match so not all cards will be opened but as I said, home ground + quality should be enough for :fr: to win tonight. I really do hope I am wrong though and that :ro: surprises :D

I always keep my fingers crossed for weaker teams. I don't like when everytime the same countries take trophies and I like surprising results :)

And voila, I guessed it

I am not surprised at all. :ro: played really good and definetly wouldn't be undeserved if they stayed unbeaten, but :fr: was indeed better for that one goal. Not really a beatiful game to watch, but I doubt any will be in this first phase.
