We need to beat Italy tonight. I fear the playoff, no matter who we meet...

Your only hope are the hooligans from croatia...if they can't help you,you're...

Thanks, but....:

Qualifiers history:
World Cup 2002, we finished 4th in our group.
Euro 2004, we finished 2nd in our group, but lost against Spain in playoffs.
World Cup 2006, we finished 2nd in our group (behind Italy actually), knocked out by Czech Republic in playoffs.
Euro 2008, we finished 3rd in our group.
World Cup 2010, we finished 2nd in our group, but didn't get to playoff because we were the worst runner up.
Euro 2012, we finished 3rd in our group.
World Cup 2014, we finished 4th in our group.

I don't have a good feeling about this now...

:hu: is not sure yet (even though I think they will be the best 3rd place.

It was mentioned before few times: Turkey can still catch them up

They can reach 18 points in total by defeating Iceland. As long as Kazakhstan stay on last place Turkey get 6 points deducted cause they won both matches against Kazakhstan. However, if Kazakhstan beat Latvia and Latvia will be the last place there is only a deduction of 2 points for Turkey cause they drew twice against Latvia.
18 minus 2 = 16, this would carry them on first rank of the 3rd place ranking.

and nobody believed in my theory.

I guess this must be an amazing feeling for all the Turks. I can just congratulate you and express my big respect. Before their 3:0 win against Netherlands I was pretty sure that Turkey will miss the Euro, I could have bet on it. Turkey seemed to be shaky and inconsistent and I thought Netherlands is gonna improve in the last matches like big teams often use to improve if they really have to. Then Turkey finally used their full potential and quality... 3:0 against Netherlands, 2:0 against Czech Republic and today this win against Iceland. You can't do this better. Fatih Terim once again lead the national team to the right path

I watched the match with a lots of Turkish people and they were so euphoric, jumped around and hugged each other after the free kick goal. The goal in the almost last minute, what a story this is! I was the only guy who was not so happy about that goal since I crossed my fingers for Iceland  But I can deal with it

This was actually a pretty boring match and both Turkey and Iceland were harmless in attack but solid in defense. After all Turkey was the better team so they deserved the late win. Iceland didn't give their best but Turkey also played very carefully, knowing that a draw would be enough for the play-offs. I think they didn't expect Kazakhstan to win at all. But in football sometimes everything comes different as you thought before :p

Also congratulations to :hr: !

by the way, if I could decide, this would be the play-off matches:

:hu: vs
:ba: vs :dk:
:se: vs :sl:
:ua: vs :ie:

This would be the best possible draw for the scandinavians which will hopefully all qualify.
In this scenario I would only be a bit worried of Denmark. However, Norway is better than Hungary and Sweden is supposed to be better than Slovenia. Maybe not if they play like in the match against Austria a month ago...
For me it seems weird that Hungary is among the seeded teams but not Denmark xcrazy I know it's all mathematically correct it just feels wrong :D

Actually it's weird, because the difference are the two losses Denmark had in the 2012 Euro final's tournament. The current system is not calculated in every detail, but at least it's better than any random World Ranking

I hope for at least two scandinavian teams to qualify, Norway and Sweden in favour of Denmark, besides Ukraine. Looking at the geography of the already known teams, there should be also one more nation from the balkans. I wouldn't mind seeing Slovenia or even Bosnia at the tournament, still Ireland also is a team I often support. Also Hungary would deserve to qualify, which means I basically support every remaining team.

Having Albania, Wales and Northern Ireland debuting all at once plus Iceland is way too much. Have to say it that harsh. Anyway I hope for

:se: vs :dk:
:ba: vs :sl:
:ua: vs :ie:
:hu: vs

Which means I should be satisfied with every outcome
