I think our group isn´t easy. Ok, Gibraltar is a good choice, but then all can happen. Georgia is damned unconfortable, as we could see during the qualification round to WC. Spain and France had many difficulties there. Scotland can also be a hard team. Also Ireland and Poland. Of course Germany is favorite in this group but this won´t be an easy way.

Nice to read that our national team obviously gained lots of sympathies, even from our "good friend" Great Britain
It's might be funny for foreign people that we complain about our team... It's just that the expectations here are very high. It's just about winning the world cup. As you know our former teams were very successful, we won the WC three times and Euro as well, so of course we hope to continue this success. My parents know how it feels when Germany is champion, I also wanna know it. Otherwise it would be unfair. That's my logic :D
And now Germany wait a relatively long time for a big win, and people are not patient.
We have a huge bunch of great young players, some years ago we won Euro in under 21, under 19 and also under 17. That raised hope, maybe we have already the best team of the world. In addition we were often very close to win WC and Euro... but always just the 3rd or 2nd place. It's a bit frustrating. If your team get knocked out early, you are not so sad that you failed to become champion, but if your team is very close to reaching the big aim, and then suddenly the mental powers are missing.. that annoys you much, especially when the team have proved that they are world class (I remember when we beat Argentina 4:0 in last wc) and nonetheless we have won noting at the end.
Moreover Germans often complain about the bad defense. But that's really true. For example we got 5 goals in a friendly against Switzerland, 4 goals against the USA, 4 goals against Sweden.... Weaknesses like these you mustn't have in World cup matches, otherwise you can pack your bags and go back home.

@PeterPLZ I agree that the group isn't easy, but the way to WC is easly though. Thanks to the fact that the first 2 teams ofevery group qualify for WC, I think we could even qualify if we play permanently with back-up players

Group F:

:gr:
:hu:
:ro:
:fi:
Northern Ireland
:fo:

I am happy with this group! We stand no chance against :gr:, but I think 1 point from the double is reachable. As for :hu:, we played aginst them in the last qualifications and they where horrible, just horrible, so 4 points in the double it's a must. I guess 4 points against :fi:, 6 against Northern Ireland and 6 against :fo: it;s enough to rech 2nd place :)

I am not satisfied with the group that :rs: got for the qualifications. I think it is quite equal, and everyone can hope for at least 3rd spot and the place in the barrage. There is no "mile" favorite but no clear outsider either, so that fact alone says enough how the group is difficult.

:pt: is obviously the favorite for the first place and the favorite of this group, but they lately play beyond their actual qualities in the qualifications and many other teams have been known to take the points from them. That is where I see our chance too. I believe this is one of the better options for us from the first pot and I believe that, with the right approach we can get two ties (both in Portugal and here), just like in EURO 2008 qualifications when it was 1:1 in both matches between :rs: and :pt: . Ronaldo is, obviously, the engine of the team, but he is not 50% of the team like some people say. There are many other great individuals in :pt: national team as well that can substitute his rate of production.

:dk: is in detirment at the moment, but they are always dangerous, and they are a tough team that knows how to play on a result. I believe that from these two matches many questions regarding our fate in these qualifications will be known.

:am: is much better than many people here assume, and the fact that they were really close to secure the barrage in the last cycle and that they beated :dk: in Copenhagen with 4:0 is enough to look at them more than seriously. Plus, we had some bitter experiences with them in the past, so we musn't relax for one single minute.

:al: - these two matches will be the toughest ones for us and this is where I expect the most problems. It is well known what kind of relations exist between :al: and us, and even though people like myself try to divide pollitics from football, the vast majority of people both here and in :al: will treat these matches as a war and will not forgive a failure. On the football side, :al: is quite a tough team, they don't score too many goals, but also hardly conceive many as well, and they are especially tough to beat in Tirana. I can only imagine what will await us there. But we have to prepare well and prove on the field that we are a better team.

As I said, this group is very hard, but if we can't end at least 3rd here and secure EURO 2016 through barrage, then it will be a huge embarrassment for all of us and our football. We missed two big championships, we are the most expensive team that didn't make it to the World Cup........so, it is enough of excuses, the mission in these qualifications is clear, and that is to qualify for EURO 2016. Of course, huge respect for all of our rivals here, but we know what we must do.

I can totally see us taking bunch of points from Denmark and Portugal and then losing both matches to Armenia or something.
We surely are good enough for at least 3rd place in this group (if not higher) but you never really know with us so let's just wait and see. xcrossed

Today :rs: is playing a friendly against :ie: in Dublin.

A great test against a good team to see where we are at the moment and also where additional work is needed.

Well, we just beat Hungary in a friendly. Things will be different when the qualifiers start, but hopefully the team will develop and get at least third. It's not easy, but doable. xcheer
