It's so sad that staging is like that boring and this place between favourites make it favourite for NQ

Apparently they spent 90% of their time filming the green-screen clips for the "storm effect" and having technical problems. Don't think we got a full runthrough done at all, with proper visuals and all. I guess we'll have a better idea about the final product after second rehearsal. I expect it to be the about the same as the NF one in the end. Perhaps they should have gone for the simpler solution without the virtual storm effects.. guess we'll have to hope it won't look too half-assed in the end. Sound mix could use work too. Backings sounded rather loud and messy.. unless they're trying to drown out Victor on purpose. Eh, the status quo remains.. nothing was a complete catastrophe, but nothing screams "huge improvement from NF!" either. Maybe they'll give him some extra rehersal time at 1AM to fix his clouds up.

Tumblr, mostly.
Victor's stock rose, if anything. (mostly because only 7 acts NQ in this semifinal and the number of disappointing mediocre rehearsals already exceeds that number)

Eh, I just hope Victor gets his act together for the two important performances. And then maybe there's still a slight chance he'll have another two. It's not too likely we'd escape bottom 5 in the final, but it would still be nice to be there. The fact there are still so many technical flubs doesn't fill me with confidence. :? Probably has a negative effect on his performance as well, having to stress about staging instead of focusing on his singing. It's not like they have much more time to perfect anything either.. only one more try before the juries come knocking. He better be saving his best vocals (such as they are) for monday/tuesday night. And if the tech issues are not sorted in the first dress rehearsal, our team better whine and moan until they get more time on stage. If they sit on their ass going "oh, we're sure it'll be fiiiine in the evening!", they all deserve to get the boot.

It's a nice song but it's not my kind of music. 5 points from me.

Everybody has been shading Estonia's entry so much this year that I really have no expectations, nor any f**ks to give about how well we do, for the first time ever basically  And I supported this in Eesti Laul by the end. See you all in the top 10 in 2021, since the 3 year curse seems to continue (so next year we'll probably have a fan-favourite that flops terribly)

I'm still shocked by how much hate this is getting... I really appreciate the song as a decent nordic pop song and the staging is also fine! Victor's vocals are also not that bad in the snippet!

This song is very disliked by fans indeed. Maybe the casual viewers like it more.

He won the Eesti Laul televote by a margin, which is impressive considering he is a foreigner. Maybe he can sneak to the final as 10th or 9th.

The most positive thing I can say about "Storm" is that it makes me look forward to Estonia's comeback in 2020 xshifty

To me, it's not that this effort is bad per se, it's just that it's the polar opposite of "interesting", which is an issue in the context of a song contest.

Being a fan favourite doesn't exactly guarantee success either, as the likes of Verona or Rockefeller Street have demonstrated. It does give a general idea about your winning chances perhaps, or the likelihood of placing top 5.. but as for grabbing that 10th place in the semi, it's not the most accurate indicator.

In other news, it seems they've given us an extra rehearsal tomorrow morning! Probably for the best, considering how limited their time to fix things would be if it turned out things still didn't work smoothly on monday. I just hope they finally get their graphics running well and maybe that will help Victor chill and sing better. We need to avoid being bottom 3 with the juries to have any chance, so vocals should be the biggest priority for now.

The only thing that will entice people to vote for him if they didn't get the staging right, is because he is very telegenic. Other than that, I can see this staying in the semi.
