Ow, btw, best Ireland result since.... 1997!
Best Armenia result since 2016!
Best Croatia result, obviously, since ever... or 1989.
Best Germany result since 2018 (but you're lucky on this one, and you know that!)

Really didn’t see that coming with the final result. Overall, I’m disappointed Switzerland won over Croatia. Already looking ahead to next year and can only hope it will be an improved contest with a much higher quality of music across the board.

This show will belong to the past quicker than we expect. The conflicts surrounding such a thing are always felt 1,000 times more intensely when it's happening than when it's over.
I'd love you to be right, but no. Not with what has been said (and done) these hours in French media. Maybe it'll go quicker somewhere else... but I'm not optimistic for my country. (and especially with the incoming European elections)

Girl what are these supposed to be
Sorry hun. This weekend every year I'm like up for 19 hours a day, using like 5 devices all on a home VPN. It's way too much lag and stress.
I placed a combi-bet on Croatia being the best Baltic country, and the UK being dead last in televoting
Last one was risky, but I just knew, that staging was too gay even for ESC standards. People blocked me for it. But c'mon.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 Grand Final is now over. The winner is Switzerland - Nemo “The Code” with 591 points. Congratulations Switzerland, it's your third Eurovision Song Contest victory to-date. Switzerland: Winners 1956, 1988, 2024. 36 years' gap between its two most recent wins (1988 - 2024).

Croatia (which was the hot favourite to win) ended up second overall, with 547 points. Their televote score was over 300 points, so they may well have won the public vote, but I've yet to find an official full results source. In fact, Croatia was momentarily in the lead. but was pipped to second place when Switzerland received its public vote score last of all.

Commiserations to Olly Alexander; after receiving a reasonable 13th place with 46 points from the juries, he received zero points in the public vote. I think that must have been last in the televote, because the UK was the only country to receive zero televote points (a couple other countries had single digit televote scores). As a result, the UK ended up 18th with 46 points overall. Still, Olly Alexander did the UK proud tonight; at least he ended up with a higher overall placing and combined score than Mae Muller did last year.

Well done to all tonight's 25 finalists, no matter where on the scoreboard they placed. Don't forget, 11 countries were eliminated in the semi-finals this week. Many thanks also to tonight's 25 finalists for entertaining the world with their diverse range of different songs, and for SVT for putting on such an amazing show tonight. I've enjoyed watching this evening's Grand Final very much, even though there was one less finalist country tonight than originally planned.

Austria and Finland ended more than 10 places worse than projected.

I guess under the old system we would have actually gotten 12 points from Israel (3rd in the Televoting/2nd with the Jury).

I hope we won't come close to winning again until a certain country is gone, don't want this shitshow here again for a while. Look at what they were up to while the shows were taking place.

Since the EBU doesn't care about human rights, I hope AVROTROS sues them into oblivion, and then withdraws. And if there's any justice in the world, Joost gets a hit out of this awful experience.

By the way, ashamed my country awarded the 12 points to Israel, I really can't get to understand it...
Fascists, alt-right, militant and extremist Christians, they all tried to rally as many people as possible and because the other people spread their votes you don't need ridiculous numbers to get that 12 rolling. Why do they do it? I don't know, Muslims aren't real people to them apparently. But yeah don't worry about it, it's not just Spain, it's all throughout Western Europe, but we probably do need to put pressure on EBU to ban Israel or this type of stuff will just continue. We can not have this contest in peace with Israel around when there is a genocide going on in Palestine I would say.

I want to take a look at the multiverse where Netherlands would be still a part of this and who would have won there.

Don't worry, he has his hit. Europapa is by FAR the most popular Eurovision song in the Netherlands since I was born. It's especially popular among children and it's just an instant classic. He will return a hero.
