I was thinking about not listening to any songs before the semis and final. But I just realized that I'm going to miss semi 1! At least most of it. So I've tried to listen through the songs now. My favourites so far are France and Greece :D

I've heard that not only led-screens are banned this year but tv-effects as well. But as we can see Italy and Norway have tv-effects in their Exclusive Rehearsal Clips, so... something changed? Or it was a fake news what I saw on one ESC-fanpage?

It's fake news! There will be tv effects in many songs. At least Cyprus, Bulgaria, Italy and Norway have them .

lol @ the big 6 minus Italy performing in the first half of the grand final  Hopefully, it'll mean most semi 1 qualifiers will perform in the second half.

Some countries are not pleased with the production team so far, Greece, Denmark and now France as the HoD was pretty upset with the feedback they gave during the first rehearsals, only to see that it was barely taken into account. Any other problems from other countries that I have missed ?

The only thing I've heard was Greece needed to rehearse again (but I don't know why), Denmark had problems with snow because they wanted it heavier and France wanted orange lights instead of red (but from what I've seen from their second rehearsal it was solved).

Edoardo Grassi wasn't satisfied with these camera works too.

I'm hoping for a flawless Contest of course and I'm wishing the hosts all the best but to be honest I really wouldn't mind the blue carpet hosts actually hosting the live shows too! They did a great job so far, the blue carpet event is definitely the best event in recent years! x12s

But I'm pretty confident that the 4 girls will also do a great job. You just gotta love that country and those people! I've been to Acores 2 years ago and it has definitely been my most beautiful vacation so far! Such nice people and beauitful landscape!

I hate that Christer Björkman is both in charge of Melodifestivalen and production of Eurovision. How can he impartially decide the running order?

I still believe no one should be in charge of choosing the running order, they have ways to make a diverse running order and still keep it random with using genre/tempo pots and draw the entries randomly from there, it shouldn't be so damn hard and the fact they keep onto the "producers' choosing the order" makes me really question their credibility.

Let a computer decide it!

Sorry to say this, but that is a really stupid and ignorant thing to express. The underlying assumptions you seem to imply are as horrible as they are unreasonable. There's a lot of policies in EBU that you can disagree on, but attacks on persons and their renommé are low and lazy. Basically a trolling for cheap thrills.

Exactly! I can get they want a "diverse show", as complete random running order could potentially lead to for instance all ballads being stuck together, but like you said a computer could be used here to simply set up a genre/tempo pots system and then put the entries in those and have the running order randomized allocated based on that to make a fair yet diverse running order. Why are they so afraid to introduce something that would save their faces? Why keeping a system that is non-transparent and obviously questionable? xshrug

I have to rant against wiwibloggs. How they report from Eurovision, totally appals me.

They are so cosy and personal with the acts, that I cringe. If I were one of the Eurovision acts, I would be super uncomfortable in an interview with either William or Deban. They are flirtacious and obnoxious. Sure, some of the acts find that funny, but pretty sure that many of them just play along with them with a friendly nose and are happy when it's over. How dare they to call the acts Honey, Sweetie, and allude to having sex with them?

And at the same time, they are super opinionated, playing experts 24/7/365 and are capitalizing are on the artists by selling t-shirts with their songs.... sick!

Maybe EBU feels as powerful and detached as UEFA and thinks they can get away with intransparency and semi-transparency .... and in the end, Eurovision is just a show, who cares if it is fair? Football has more public scrutiny.
