That's mean...

Conchita's triumph has been shown in all the news as one of the headlines of the year in every category. It's seen as a triumph of tolerance in Europe...

Well, there's still haters, but I believe she convinced a lot of people on appearing on TV and explaining who she is and what she does. She's not a provocator, just someone being what she wants. :)

Eurovision never raised that meach discussion anyday.

So I hope Eurovision 2015 will be as Conchitepic ! :)

Omg awesome xheart The stages in 2011 & 2012 were marvellous
My favourite stage production of him was the stage of the 2009 MTV VMA's

I hope that the visuals won't be too close to 2011 & 2012 though.. It really annoyed me when the 2012 design was just the 2011 one in another colour..

i have to confess that many of his stage designs look similar, some are too overloaded (like dsds). and the visuals are not really that innovative. mtv award was awesome though. hope it will be something new for vienna.

I was neither a fan of the 2011 stage nor the 2012 stage. The Baku stage was horrible, and Düsseldorf mainly consisted of a huge plate and huger videowall. I am not the biggest fan of LED walls though. Düsseldorf had a major asset, and that was the theme itself.

The good news is, that Vienna Stadthalle is not such a big venue that can be filled with a huge stage. I hope there will be a classy stage like Norway 2010 or Malmö 2013.

Not convinced that Mr. Wieder can bring an original stage or just something that looks like a slick UFO that stranded in a hall.

Okay, so Mr. Wieder is basically the stage and studio designer of all the shows which look quite similar and quite horrible......

Florian Wieder

This is not art, it's popcorn design for junkfood television.....

i found the stage in düsseldorf not very inspiring and the visuals were quite weak. baku really was awful in my eyes.
the bridge in malmö would fit perfectly to this years slogan, but i guess they will do something else that will fit to building bridges.
stadthalle invites to do something new since there is only a mobile grandstand opposite of the stage, which probably will not be used, since they need space for the green room. thus the wall behind the greenroom can be used too. so there could be a stage from one end to the other end of the hall including main stage, side stage(s), greenroom and standing room(s) in between.

Austria: Florian Wieder is 2015's stage designer http://www.escunited.com/home/austri...tage-designer/

Wieder designed the stage for the contest in Düsseldorf, 2011.
It has been confirmed that famous stage designer Florian Wieder will design the staging for the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. He has previously designed the staging for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 (above), as well as for the popular British shows The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent and for the Bundesvision Song Contest in Germany.
It is not yet known what format the stage in Vienna will take or whether it will relate to the “Building Bridges” slogan but all will be revealed in due course.
See some of Florian Wieder’s work below;
Wieder also designed the stage for the talent show The X Factor, with the British version on ITV and the American version on FOX. Many other international versions of the franchise also use similar staging.

Simon Cowell is a regular client, with Weider having designed the stage for Britain’s Got Talent also.

What's happening in January?

What's happening in January? http://www.escunited.com/home/whats-happening-in-january/

Five countries will be on their 2015 journey in January!
The selections for 2015 have been ticking over quite nicely so far, but with the new year approaching Europe is about to kick it up a notch in January! Here’s our handy guide to what is happening in the Eurovision world in January so you don’t miss out on a thing!
Georgia choose their star for Vienna!
We already know who’s in the running but tomorrow (December 31st) we’ll finally hear the songs! From 1st January the Georgian public will be able to vote on the five songs for two weeks, ultimately deciding their representative on Wednesday 14th January. Stay tuned, ESC United will be bringing you the songs tomorrow!
Lithuania kick off Eurovizija!
The first new occurance in January will take place only this week! Lithuania’s lengthy selection will begin this Saturday (3rd January) with an introduction of the contestants vying to represent the Baltic nation in Vienna. Last year we saw Vilija Matačiūnaitė demanding our attention with her entry but who will be taking the spotlight in Vilnius? Lithuania’s national final will occur weekly each Saturday through January until the song selection on February 14th and the artist selection on February 21st.
A Dal 2015 is on!
Hungary’s national final is becoming somewhat of a fan favourite lately, so it should be no surprise that we’re very excited by A Dal 2015. 30 songs will take part in the hope of representing Hungary on familiar Austrian soil. Perhaps the contest will stay in Central Europe in 2016 if Hungary can find a winner? Find out as the contest kicks off on January 24th!

Europe: a continent divided?
Only in Eurovision of course! January 26th sees the all-important semi-final allocation draw taking place which will decide which of the two semi-finals each country will take part in next May. Of course, Austria and the Big 5 will be spared the semi-finals, but this may give us a better idea of where the competition will lie in May!
Switzerland is hunting for a star!
The online contributions have been whittled down by each Swiss broadcaster after an expert check and we’re now left with just 6 entrants. Who will be crowned the winner of Die Große Entscheidungsshow 2015? Switzerland had a great year in Copenhagen so there’s a lot at stake for the winning artist to show their Austrian neighbours how it’s done!
Söngvakeppnin spices up those cold winter nights!
Finally in January we get our first Nordic national final! Söngvakeppnin in Iceland will begin on January 31st with the first semi-final. Who will succeed Pöllaponk, will they do better, and will they keep their song in Icelandic? Only time will tell, and we should find out who is taking part very shortly.
Stay with ESC United throughout January and the NF season as we bring you all of the latest news and rumours from across Europe! Let us know what you’re looking forward to this season below or join the discussion with other fans on our forum!

This is my prediction of what the pots might be like for the Semi Final Draw based on the pots from previous years, I'm not sure whether they are splitting Austria's nearest neighbours up first, as they did with Sweden and Denmark, and whether Israel and Germany are automatically in Semi 2 again. It's not clear where Czech Republic will be placed either.

Does anyone else have predictions of what the pots might be?

There is not a lot which I would do differently there actually. I'm not sure on Ireland though, I think it would be in the pot with Latvia and Lithuania.

Well, despite of the pots, I would draw apart the following countries :

Denmark, Norway, Estonia vs. Iceland, Sweden, Finland looks very fair

Albania, Switzerland, Serbia vs. Montenegro, Macedonia & Slovenia

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia vs. Georgia, Belarus, Israel

Romania, Greece vs. Moldova, Cyprus, Portugal

Czech Republic, Malta, San Marino vs. Hungary, Poland

Latvia, Belgium, Ireland
vs. Lithuania, Netherlands

Semifinals could get very unfair if we see Romania/Moldova, Serbia/Montenegro, Albania/Macedonia, Greece/Cyprus, Belarus/Russia or Latvia/Lithuania in the same semi........

That works really well, with Ireland and Portugal swapped over. Portugal doesn't really get any automatic points, so it's difficult to know where to put them.

Yes some of them it is difficult, all you can work on is who they usually vote for which for Portugal is Romania and Moldova. Some like Central Europe don't really do either so you can just toss them all together.

Portugal gets some automatic help from Spain, France and Switzerland and would get a lot of help from Luxembourg
