Impressive... forget the word stadiums There is only one in Denmark in terms of what you would call a stadium and thats Parken in Copenhagen we are only 5 million danes and 25 % of us live in or around Copenhagen.

The question is can the venue be sold out 9 times durring the ESC weeks: in Herning ? or Horsens ? or Copenhagen ?? those who are watching the shows on tv wants to see an audience!!! and DR wants a sold out venue

I think it will be in Copenhagen, DR Byen... Boxen is the best venue of these 4, but the location is bad :(

You are raising a very valid point here. The problem is not Herning being a smaller city but the fact it is so remote, it would be incredibly difficult for anyone to travel this far out. Malmo had the benefit of being close to an International airport and a city with proper accommodation. If Herning is chosen it will be difficult to fill the arena. Heck, even Malmo wasn't completely sold out every night (except the Final shows that is).

I'm quite confident that the broadcaster is aware of that issue and I just can't think of a proper workaround for this.

But then there is another question:

The EBU wish to keep the cost for the participants as low as possible or else we could see some cancelations from several southern European countries.

One of the hugh cost are the hotel costs for up to 30 people in 14 days. Therefor the host should avoid placing the contest in hugh cities where the costs are high.

The question must then be where is the costs lowest. is that in Holstebro/Silkeborg 40 km from Herning combined with a rented bus (20 min ride on the motorway)
Århus/Vejle 40/26 km from Horsens combined with a rented bus or is the cost lowest with a hotel in Copenhagen with a rented bus?

Well. now time is almost out to announce the host city. Seems to me it's a tough decision for DR to make -or- are they just playing a game? :D Even though Danish media appears moderately interested (DR itself hasn't publish any article since June), speculations are vivid among the people it seems.

Good grief, It's nearly September. We knew about Malmo in July. They better get a wiggle on.

Germany didn't announce the host city until October so don't hold your breath, we may or may not have to wait a little longer.

Thank god, I feel like we dodged a major bullet by not going to Herning. While I was rather confident that wouldn't be the case, all that front runner talk made me rather nervous.

I genuinely believed it would be Herning because of the venue it had on offer. But Copenhagen is a pleasant surprise and you all seem to breathing a sigh of relief about it :lol:

I'm OK with this for the moment, although I need to know more about the capacity and how all this will work.

This was the only choice ..... to host the ESC is not only about having an arena its also about having a City around the arena......

But if Denmark win in 2014.... and we will do our best!! we can put the evnet out in no-were like Herning or Horsens.... Or if Århus (our 2nd larges City) would bild a place for 10.000 people we will place it in Århus !! (come on Århus!!! were are you??)

I think people can look forward to something different this year .... most people will arrive by a boat (Refshalvøen an (half)island)..... there will be seat for aprox 8.000 to 10.000 so se you at the rehearsals !!! or JOIN US who didn't get a ticket, by one of the big screens around the city!!

That's a very small capacity. Malmo Arena was bad enough. Everything else looks good, but I'm worried the arena will be too small.
