Nice. No surprise that the contest would be held in Copenhagen. Seems like the best option.

Thank God, for a while I really thought that Herning or Horsens would host it, but this news made my morning :) Yaaaaaaay!

I'm very glad that ESC 2014 will held in Copenhagen :D xcheer This is the best choice, so I hope that Danes also will do a great edition of contest xup

I am already looking forward to spending some days in beautiful Copenhagen i May 2014 (just as I did this May). It's a beautiful city, very friendly - and I am sure they know how to welcome the competition in their town!
Yes, I am relieved... So now starts the nervewrecking waiting for when the tickets are sold...

Lol of course its different. Its basically a warehouse. I'm just wondered about it echoing - when they sing and such.

OMG were they desperate to find a suitable location in Copenhagen? :lol: I'm sure it will be supergreat in the end, xlove but it will cost DR to pull this off. I guess there will be no surprises in the format or any novelties this time.

No it will not cost DR..... the reason why it took so long to announce the host city was because they wanted to see which city would pay the most. B&W hallen will be paid by the city of Copenhagen and the owner of the B&W hallen

I'm happy with this idea of Eurovision Island and having it in a warehouse! I love seeing the Eurovision being experimented with and being played about with, it keeps the contest fresh!

So this is located in the harbour and is in the middle of a busy working place? It could be interesting no doubt. ;) But isn't it exactly as I feared that all efforts will go to make this place at least somewhat nice and all investments will be in vain the day after the final? Or are they planning to make the warehouse a permanent concert hall?

My thinking was that Jylland could get some long term boosts from the event and the money spent would be to a greater good.

The last few weeks I thought, that it would be Herning tbh.
I think, Copenhagen will do a great job and also the concept sounds quite good. The infrastrucure will be much better than in Herning.
Ok, I don´t like B&W Hallen as the venue, but there was no better alternative.

If Azerbaijan can build a totally new arena for Eurovision I have no doubt that Denmark can turn a warehouse into something suitable. I personally cannot wait to the the result!!!!!!

Its actually close to were we Copenhageners gets our garbage burned!! .....

In vain and in vain........ the event is in focus what happens after ESC is not important to other than the owner ... The monney is spent like this = Copenhagen City: trafic /transport area round B&W, the Owner: logictis in or out side the hall. DR AUDIO/VIDEO some design elements....

I think the costs for DR would be around the same if it were held in Herning. DR is not going to rebuild B&W they do not paying any rent for using the area and the warehouse ...... and the confetti is paied by the participants anyway.....

And for the hell of it ESC is not held every year in Denmark, why not do someting no one else has done, pay a fair price, deliver a good show with good tv-picture and tv-sound and let the participants do the rest......

And last but not least I think Malmø did everything right .... for the Swedish way of hosting the show..... SVT spend the amound of money that the people of Sweden would accept delivered a fantastic show followed after another fantastic show i Barcu..............
And now the show is held 14 km away.....YES 14!!!!!! and its going to be something different this time, you just wait and see


And that whats matters, so DR has my support

B&W (Burmeister & Wain) was a shipyard until 1996 there has since been serveral music events on the half island

The capacity of the warehouse is so small :shock:, 10.000 xshock ? really? does DR really wanna put Eurovision on that warehouse? 13.000 capacity is pretty okay but 10.000 is just too small for an event like this :mad:
