The overall reactions to this seem really positive. I think they can absolutely make the final, and even make top 15. Something about the unironic 80s fun feel really seems to appeal to a lot of people....

It will NQ though for 80% unless people randomly go gaga for their live performance in Rotterdam. It is just too cheesy for most , especially for the juries who will likely unanimously vote it down. It may appeal to some but mostly to people from the UK and Scandinavia, maybe Germany too where such music used to be popular. It will stand up in a not a good way probably in the recap too especially considering the fact that Jesper is not the best vocalist out there.

It still is. I have high hopes in the German audience but we don’t vote in the semi they‘re in so they will lose a bunch of potential voters (I‘m sure there would be some here). I really hope they‘ll make it to the final even without our help.

In parts of Poland kinda too like in Upper Silesia, but among older adults usually. Those songs though are rarely similar to this Danish entry.

For some years now there also is a minority of a younger audience that is into „new Schlager“ - means typical Schlager beats, melody, German lyrics, EDM bass & rhythm. (Helene Fischer & co)

I wouldn't say that they could make top 15, but yeah i think they could make it to the final. Even though it's not surely the best song out there (and juries may be harsh a bit on this, i agree), imo there's the only one in the whole competition who has a strong feeling of nostalgia pouring out of it. Makes me think of what a french eurofan website about Gram-of-Fun : "this song makes me feel nostalgia about times i wasn't born yet". Again i genuinely think that's the whole point of the song.

Also yeah, this song is outdated, cheesy, with some a bit poor vocals, but in 2019 Serhat did qualify with an outdated and silly song while singing offkey the whole damn time. Just sayin'.

I'm still bewildered by Ben& Tan not being allowed to participate. There can be no doubt that their song would have been among the best in the contest. It would definitely have had a better chance of making it to the final in Rotterdam, and even though the inexplicable Danish hype about Fyr & Flamme might have been too strong for Ben & Tan, I'm pretty sure "Iron Heart" would have received a large part of the votes.

There is no way their song was excluded based on objective criteria. My guesses: 1. DR wanted to honour specific artists and composers (e.g. Anna David), 2. DR felt that Ben & Tan were "too much last year" - that's a logic we often see from DR when it comes to winners of song competitions in general.

From what I get (I can read Norwegian to a certain degree) she had to go to psychiatry because a former ex of hers abused her (mentally I think) and made her feel bad?!
The name of her ex wasn’t mentioned specifically I think but I guess they‘re assuming it’s Jesper.

I am re-evaluating all songs as per studio form and re-looking into my grading system and how I have ranked the songs according to my personal preference.

The song has grown a little on me. But with respect to the songs in this year's contest , it's sitting comfortably in the middle of my personal ranking. So I am upgrading the rating to a .
