The verdict of the bloggers:
Benny - “Pedestal” goes well in the studio version and has also developed into a little catchy tune for me. Plus, the song definitely stands out in the field and Aiko has great energy. Fingers crossed that the Czech delegation can play it all out much, much better on the stage in Malmö than was the case in the preselection.
Berenike - Pedestal” is a very nice indie rock song with an appealing melody in the chorus, but never seems too smooth due to the “screaming”. I really like the studio version. But please, please, please don't replicate the production from the preliminary round in Malmö, this strange pole dance doesn't fit the title at all. Acoustic
Douze Points - The Czech preselection was rather a disappointment for me this year, and the victory of “Pedestsal” really surprised me. When I listen to the final version of the piece in the “indie rock” mindset, I like the power and energy. There are enough points to connect musically. And I find myself headbanging a little during the chorus.
Flo - Even though the production is a bit edgy, “Pedestal” can’t sustain that for three minutes for me. At least the revamp has given the song a new part, which with the bridge already calls for a choreo interlude. Especially when it comes to live performance, there needs to be an improvement to the preliminary round so that it is enough to make it to the final.
Manu - Pedestal” is straightforward (punk) rock from the turn of the millennium and in terms of sound and attitude it reminds me of “Celebrity Skin” by the grunge band Hole. It was a bit difficult live in the preliminary round, but those were basically all the performances in the Czech preliminary round, so I don't want to comment on that. Even though the end of the song is very abrupt, I can only give it an energetic

.
Max - Actually it's cool and the chorus is pretty catchy too. You can argue about whether “pedestal” is such a singable word, but I think that might be a matter of taste. Overall, the whole thing doesn't really blow me away, Czechia has already delivered other things for me.
Peter - “Pedestal” has been available since December, so I've been listening to the song for a long time. The slightly rowdy alternative rock pop is not my favorite style, but the chorus is catchy and the message is great. And Aiko lives in Brighton, which is a magical city these days.
Rick - Difficult… even though “Pedestal” is a well-crafted song, I don’t completely warm up to the number. You're probably still thinking too much about the uncoordinated performance from the preliminary round. I hope Aiko brings things to the stage in a completely different way at the ESC and shows that she has a serious contribution to the race. The revamp has also improved a few things, but the overall package really doesn't blow me away so far.
