In a way it feels better to be eleventh in the semis (=nearly successful) than making it into the final and getting the last/second to last place with very few points (=defeat) Just look at Norway, everyone talks about it as if they lost completely.

I think that despite not qualifying, the result is pretty good and so our delegation has a good position when they'll be in talks about our next year's participation.

If aiko was in the first semi final with slovenia and neighboring countries she would have qualified, also not having juries also was bad for czechia, they would have awarded her some points,
It's so unfortunate that she was eliminated in such very small margin.

A final is a final. But i get what you mean, it is similar to the bronze game victory vs final loss situation.
Anyway, 11th place with many countries awarding low/lowest marks is indeed not bad and unlucky. Norway got few middle marks and it was enough.
I hope ESCZ 2025 will learn from the mistakes done in this edition and am already looking forward to it.

I can, but it will take some time. I think many of them have been already related to in this thread by HayashiM.

One mistake is the switch to absolute votes from the classical marks scale.
Also a live show must be TV orientated, not a televised concert to avoid sound problems.
One mistake, albeit not so easily seen, is simply the process of picking the contestants, I am sure, there is more good acts in Czechia, but for many reasons they do not pass the threshold. And i also think, that ESCZ must start to focus on the Czech spectator more, whilst keeping the international vote (maybe 60:40). And yes, i would re-introduce juries.

"Pedestal" was the only entry I missed from the semis to go thru. The whole season, Czechia was in my top 10. Very, very sad about the missed chance. For me Czechia is one of the best ESC-countries the past years!

Wasn‘t the biggest fan of this at the beginning of the season, but this was my biggest grower this year.

I am really happy that Aiko managed to go from being a very unpopular choice when she was crowned to the majority regretting she didn't qualify. What a redemption arc! I hope she'll get a great push from this.

Disappointed because I always liked the song and the performance was very good and powerful. It could easily take one spot instead of the 3 last qualifiers in semi 2... !
